I have always loved that tune. My son played it for me last Sunday and it is called Ashokan Farewell.
Multi instrumental, I love that he can play so many pieces!

Yes this was written and performed for the Kevin Burn's "Civil War" movie. This is a true story about a Dam in New York State. The lyrics and melody are haunting. Glad that you appreciate it also.

Moron brothers indeed, Ashokan Farewell isn't an old fiddle tune. Jay Ungar wrote it in the 80s. Or is that old now?
