Very cool of Gerry to let you listen to the drivetrain and get you involved, but I can’t tell you how dangerous that was. If your hair had gotten blown up and tangled in the driveshaft we would all be mourning the loss of Maria. I hope your repair is comped for giving OC Rovers such great coverage.

Seena is really cool. Maria everything happens for a reason, Seena keeping your cooking pan by accident was for your convenience because you needed his company dealing with the heat and the Rover breaking down. It all worked out as planned. My goodness you're so Bubbly:) and always happy.

As a tech i can tell you right now. I would have never left my truck with em. Walking around under it while they got it fired up and in motion was the dumbest thing ive ever seen. That alone tells you the quality of shop brains working on it.

I was thinking the grill heat pretty much right on top of the jackery is probably not good either and if that’s main power source.
Hang in there. Old Defenders need TLC but they are a blast to drive so they are worth it. Take care and enjoy the road!
Don't even want to guess what the Poe bill was but you sure had a good guy in Gerry and mechanics are hard to come by....good and truthful ones. Senna was a prince bringing you the skillet, even tho' he did steal it! Love that you keep a good attitude for the repairs! And, no, Blue would not go to anyone other than you!
Everyone needs a friend like Seena! Drives 3 hours to bring back a pan, now that's a real friend. I agree Olipop is the best. My guess for the diff is between $2000-$2500.

With all these next-level cooking facilities, you might want to get yourself a sheet of 1mm stainless steel and stick it to the top of your fridge with double-sided tape to provide a worktop where you can put hot pans without burning or melting stuff.

Once you travel into bear country, don't cook inside your vehicle. It attracts bears. Juices spatter inside your rig.

What did you expect with your defender. Yeah they are cool looking vehicles. Incredibly off road capable. Old Defenders are just money pits. Just be prepared to spend and keep spending until the day you and your defender part ways. Then maybe get a vehicle that is reliable. Just a thought.

$1500 to $2000 Wow Defenders are so expensive in the US! Here in the UK they are so much cheaper - Landcruisers however... OUCH!

Please PLEASE!! Don't get under a vehicle with the drivetrain spinning with your hair down like that. All it takes its a slight breeze and half your hair/scalp is in the driveshaft. Great content otherwise!

I'm equally terrible in the heat too. Running cold water over my wrist arteries for a few mins works a treat. A guy called motivational doc on TH-cam showed me a face and sinus massage thing that's excellent and saves me

No idea about the repair bill but the minute he said it has to be rebuilt, I was thankful to have a 2023. Your vehicle is way cooler - seriously, a million times cooler, I'm not even on the same plane as you - but my Toyota runs like a rat on crank 😂. Your friend seems really cool. Transference of noise would travel right down the whole truck. I had my rear pinion bearing that went bad. In Defenders case $$$ and My old 1999 F150 cost $699.00.... Right now I have about 2017,000 miles on my truck... Truck maintenance is not cheap. Lube & Oil! Good luck!

Love the videos Maria... I think your bill will be mostly Labor. Timken bearings are probably $40 per... The differential parts I estimate at $500... And a front oil leak with no explanation... I am guessing a total of $1,250-2,450.00

Depending on location and part availability a diff rebuild/replacement is probably going to cost $1,500-5,000. Part availability is the big one in the defenders case. Hopefully it's a standard gear sizing and they can rebuild her quickly.
not to mention whatever is leaking in the front.
Maybe a gasket or seal. Something major, it might time for a newer truck or a van? Maybe a sponsor will stepup and pay to have it fixed.
My rear diff went on my GMC Canyon like 10 years ago - $800 sticks in my mind but that was 10 years ago...it was weird driving it from what I remember...thankfully i got it to the dealer before it blew totally. Good luck with it.
@@24BABYBULL $800 adjusted for inflation would be in that realm of 1,500-5. Especially on an import. It's insane what they charge now.
We had a 2010 Ford Crown Victoria, it was a retired cop car. In 2020 the rear diff went and we were quoted anywhere from $2.5k USD to $3k from multiple places. We tried looking for a used part ourselves for months and found one for $1.2k. That didn’t include labor, of course.
We finally decided it didn’t make sense for us financially to fix it and sold it.

Girl you’re crazy going to the desert after April! If you needed to check California off the list I would’ve gone to Northern California to the beach girl! Lol
So, I had an 87' Range Rover Classic, it was a tractor basically just like yours and never failed me.. So I saved for two years and overpaid for a Range Rover HSE 4.6 Black and Tan just like I always dreamed of and after the rear airbags over inflated and the fronts dumped all the air, and the engine overheated, not to mention the $1,200 dollar brake jobs the front end totally failed going up hill at 70mph and it was $3,500 but the total spent over four years owning that pile was over $17,000
and yes, I traded it in on a new LR3 because, Land Rover... after 12 years and zero casualties I took it to Texas for a year and a few months where it Flooded in a Hurricane and since I'm from California, I didn't know how destructive hurricanes are and still couldn't tell you the difference between that and a tornado.. so my guess is between $2,000 and $3,000 and btw I almost bought a Defender 109 ExMoD camo 2 door and canvas topper.. still wish I had, love watching yours and BTW, leaking means it still has oil in Land Rover speak

I carry a grill but it has to be used outside and uses either charcoal or campfire wood. Great cooking on the steak and the chicken kabobs. 👍👌
I just tried Olipop Cream soda,,,, I dont normally drink soda but I saw it in the store, saw it barely had sugar in it so I bought that and root beer,,,,doing cream soda today and YUMMY 😊

Ouch. That looks expensive. It was good luck that there was Rover repair shop, anc that they noticed the leak too. I thought it might have been ball bearings going bad.
You should save your southern trips for winter and stay in northern areas for summer.
Also suggest you drink a lot more water. Even if you're not thirsty. Especially if you're thirsty. Don't use pop to quench a thirst. Can still drink pop, but drink more water.
