@@mitchellhartman6205 for your information, the only blades made in Egypt are made by LORD company under different brand names like (Lord-Shark-Asco-Racer-Big ben). The Nacet blades are available locally in Egypt but they are Imported to Egypt by procter and gamble.
Excellent demonstration. Reads: made in Russia, imported by a company in Cairo. Nacet were the only blades my father shaved with, seventy years ago, and I began shaving with in the mid sixties.
Astra is still my favourite blade for my beard and skin. Also, surprisingly Merkur blades do a great job for me and seem to last easily passed 5 shaves. Feathers are too harsh for my skin. If I’m not nicked up to hell, my face is burning after use. Derby are hit and miss. Sometimes they are lovely, sometimes they brutal.
Thanks for the insight. Lists like these help us newbies get an idea of how blades may work for us. But as you and many others have said before "Your mileage may vary". There are just too many variables. I just recently tried the Wilkinson Sword classic in both the Edwin Jagger de89 and the Merkur 34c and had different results.
Thanks for the kind words Randy. There are so many variables in de shaving. Keep testing out different blades in your razors and write down the ones you get great shaves with. Cheers. Kevy 👍
After all these years I have settled on Rapira Platinum Lux, Gillette Platinum (my number 1) and Feather. Like you said it depends on facial hair type, razor and technique. I have limited razors and these work in my open comb Shaving Revolution and Muhle R89 grande. Eagerly awaiting trying them in the Model T. I will really only use the feather if I have more than two days growth and nothing gets thru the coarseness for me better. And it leaves a BBS longer. But as a daily driver it would tear me to pieces. I still can’t get more than 3 uses on them without tugging. I’m amazed people get so many used from them 🤷🏻♂️ The Rapira gets me two good ones and zero irritation but not quite as close. The GP 3-4 VERY comfortable and close shaves. If I had to settle for one it’s these. Time to film your top razors, soaps and subscribers :)
Valuable insights here of which I'm going to try some of those. As we all know there's variables to add in as we all are different. I also find if I've had a stressful day my growth is more and coarser. Enjoying this journey, again thanks for your insight on this. Cheers!
Just started using dd razor shaving. I have merkur future paired with the Nacet blades. These are perfect for me. Only tried feather and Nacet, feather was to sharp. Thanks for your review.
Well Kevy I have settled on Rapira LUX and Feather blades for my shaves and razors the Rapira especially good teamed up with a Muhle R89 and the Feather with the Feather AS-D2 or the Popular razors - not the cheapest razor around but you get what you pay for in this game.
Hey thank you for your videos. Since I'm still a beginner with wet shaving, your videos help me a lot. Over time, I've seen almost all of your interesting reviews and I've tried a variety of razors. Greetings from Germany Berlin.😊
Hi Kevy- Great top five blade list; thank you! We share a number of top blades- Nacet, Feather and PolSilver. I add Kai (#1) and the Gillette Rubie. HM on my list goes to the Gillette Wilkinson Sword, as well as the Personna Med Prep. I hope you are having a great week and all the best!
Blades are indeed very subjective. I agree with you 100% on the Gillette Nacet blades. In my experience, they offer a perfect balance of sharpness and smoothness. As always, YMMV. Thanks for sharing the video, Kevy.
I really love the voskhod , astra platinums then the rockwell blades do really great in my rockwell 6c and model T . I'm curious how they will perform in my 1958 d4 fatboy I bought and sent off to razor emporium to get tuned up . .
@@kevyshaves4109 they are very nice and friendly people there. Like DJ she is always glad to help and answer your questions. I had just got my 58 fatboy off eBay sent it in and she checked it over to see if it need any replating or anything more than the tuneup. Also got a 63 slim for $28 and it was in such good shape I didn't bother to send it in to them. I should get my fatboy back on Friday or Saturday.
Great choices I knew nacet would be number one based on your videos lately. I think they are made in St. Petersburg Russia same plant that makes pol silver and silver blue all Gillette. My favorite is silver blue they work great for me in any razor 👍 thanks for sharing
Is surprising that the Astra wasn't even on the list, or at least an honorable mention. Up to this point is the best blade I've ever used. Will get a pack of Nacet and some Polsilver and see if they are better. I'm too finding me going to more aggressive razors or settings on the ajustables. I just finished shaving with the Slim and went from setting 3 all the way up to 9, and it really feels super smooth. I was worried that it will hurt me, but far from it. This morning I shaved with the Rockwell 6C on plate #6 for the first time, and it was a superb shave. Very close and zero irritation. So, definitively as we get older, our beard gets coarser. I read on Badger and Blade that white beard is coarser than a black, so there you go.
I still like Astra bladesbut there are sharper blades out there for my white ores beard type! Lol 😂 I'm finding I'm using more efficient razors or higher settings on adjustables too. Kevy 👍
Will need to try the Nacet. For me, I enjoy the Polsilvers a bit more than the Feathers. Those glue bumps on the Feathers are annoying. Spent about a minute cleaning it off slowly cause it was a lot.
Different blades work differently in different razors for different people, i agree, so i just have "alot" a variety so i over time know what works in what razor. It came to a point i can get a decent shave with just about any blade in any razor, technique, prep is more important for me with my skin/hair. But saying that the Gillette Rubie Platinum Plus have been very consistent for me over the years.
I've used Gillette Rubie blades but I think I only had one or two. I seem to remember them being very good. Another to add to the list! Lol! Cheers. Kevy 😀
@@kevyshaves4109 Kevy i wanted to ask u if u have an p.o box or anything, i wanted to send u some new blades to try, if not no worries, we have an barber shop so we order in bulk & have some that are not commercially available, I am from the U.K.
Hi Kevy, Very interesting, thanks. I have two that I've narrowed down to (from about 12 or so that I've tried), the Feather and the Gillette Silver Blue. The Feather definitely give me the closest shave but the Silver Blue are always a much closer and always only a two pass shave, where with the Silver Blue, I have to do a third clean up pass. I'm going to order a pack of the Gillette Nacet based on your reviews!
I'm relatively new to de shaving, I've only tried a few blades. I started with vanderhagen with acceptable results, then tried astra blue and green, feather and assured. I was very shocked with the astra's. The blues were pretty decent in my opinion but the greens gave me horrible razor burn and cuts. The assured came from dollar tree with a safety razor for 1 dollar, let's just say I'm happy that I tried it but I only used them for a few strokes before switching back to vanderhagen which was the only other blade I had at the time. My current go too is feather. I love them, I have course hair with sensitive skin, and they shave smooth with few strokes. They don't burn me and I only cut myself the first time I used them, I show them respect though and shave very lightly with them.
Good review maybe you should email them to find out where the top blades (Nacet) are made at that address on the packet. I recently tried the Rapira Platinum Lux and got one of the smoothest shaves I have had in a long time. The razor was the cheap butterfly opening Feather razor and even having to be quite aggressive with parts of my beard as Kev says it grows coarser the older I get - I had no nicks or cuts and hardly any afterburn - extremely impressed - so impressed I am going to try one in my Merkur 39C slant which one has to be very careful with. As for the Nacet I cannot easily get them out here in Australia as far as I know or I would give them a go.
Hi John. I've just had a look and you can get the Gillette Nacets on eBay in Australia. I need to try some different blades. I seem to be sticking to the same kinds just now. The Merkur slants are great razors. Cheers. Kevy 👍
Can't argue with any of your choices there Kevy my top five has Gillette rubies & the GSB's in the place of the personna reds & super max blue diamonds although I like both of those as well, the super max are so cheap! I think I paid £6 for 200!. Polsilver is still top dog for me with Nacet's snapping at its heels.
great video kev now that was a year ago, is it time for an updated 2020 version ?. I would be interested if your thoughts have changed. im surprised you've no tiger in there
Only two months in and my current top five: 5. Big Ben Super Stainless, 4. Gillette Platinum, 3. Polsilver Super Iridium, 2. Permasharp Super, and 1. Personna Lab Blue. Can't wait to try Feather, Super Max, and Nacet. Great video, as always, Kevy.
Kevy, blades are so subjective as are soaps, but love your list and agree about Nacet blades, don't think they get enough love. Appreciate that you revisited this....
I agree with the feelings about the feather blade. Almost a year into DE shaving, I'm liking the feathers opposed to 6 months ago. Must be getting a better technique because I can use feathers with a q shave on setting 6. With that being said, I wouldn't use that combo after 2 days. Definitely alot of trial and error since everyone has different thickness of beards and how they grow.
Good evening Kevy! Nice list with some great blades. For my face and beard: 1. Brazilian Gillette Platinum Plus 2. PolSilver SI 3. Gillette Nacet 4.Vintage Gillette Platinum Plus 5. Vintage Gillette Super Stainless aka The Spoiler. All those are sharp and smooth and most have incredible longevity (great for take on vacation trips/travel). I have a few that I like outside of the top five blades, but those are razor dependent. Treet Carbon Black Beauty blades deliver a smooth shave in my aggressive razors, but they are only good for about 2 great shaves and on passable shave before binning it. Additionally, there is a bit of work to prevent rust. However, the results are fantastic. Vintage Wilkinson Sword blades are superb in all my razors and I would be happy with just those if I could find a a few hundred of those at an affordable price. Lastly, Feather Hi-Stainless blades...I am going to stipulate they are good blades. My issues with them is shaves 1 thru 3 or 4 (depending on the razor) are some of the bloodiest and most uncomfortable I had the pleasure of having. Those blades are jaggy those first shaves. After shave 4 they become smoother and deliver superior shaves, cutting those course white whiskers with ease. Once I decided to push the Feather blades passed shave 3, I found their longevity was 12 shaves plus (I am still using one so I don't know when it will fail). Your information is always useful and I thank you for the years of entertaining shave related material. Take care.
@@kevyshaves4109well I am now married to astra.. recently got 200 of those n 100 Wilkinson sword..so will try other blades in next life I guess ..I m pretty happy with both n see no reason to try others except feathers which I got 50 n waiting for the day when I feel like using something other than astra or Wilkinson, but currently I m very satisfied n so not opening feather tuck 🎉
Thanks for sharing your new top 5 de blades, Kevy! I have so many blades, I'm not sure I could list top 5. I know Feather blades are a love/hate thing for me. They're sharp, but always catch every little bump or blemish for me. I do enjoy a lot of the NOS vintage stainless blades! I'm fortunate to a little cache of those. Prices can be insane for NOS, but once in a while a catch a deal. Cheers! -Rob
Really agree with you Kevy , I was just Thinking about Buying the Super Max Titanium Blades myself ,I have Nickel allergies so I would probably do good with them. One thing I Find about Personna Blades is there Smooth ,but soon loose there edge(Just a Note).Feather's Cut through the Stubble and as you say Stubble is Coarse as well as you get Older ! Think Thats why I always Like the Idea of Owning a Artist Club Razor SE , Sorry I Sold My Mongoose The Artist Blades are Superior to DE...A Thicker and Stiffer Blade little to no Flex...
This was 2019 Kevy, what is you favorite blade now? If I could only use one make of blade going forward I would probably choose Nacet. I find all Gillette blades good though. Dave 😁😁
When I first started DE shaving about 10 years ago I found Feather too sharp too however, on reflection I believe it may have been my technique. Better technique makes a dramatic difference and I don't even get weapers now with them.
An updated Top 5! Thank you for this, Kev. I can concur with practically every contender you chose. I have never received a great shave from Astra green. I'm glad they were tossed by the wayside. Personna Lab Blue are okay if there's nothing else available. I love Nacet! Erica Salmons turned me on to them. Hopefully Tony Tony, and I were successful in lobbying Manny into revisiting them. Blue Diamond is on my top 5 as well. They are consistently good. The Indian Wilkinson's are smooth and forgiving. Great for the novice. The German made Wilkinson Sword Blade, and Economie gold blade respectively are scalpel sharp, and coated for comfort. There are more to sample of course, I believe some will fall your way soon. Cheers for the updated list! Now...let's see if an update to your Super Six will occur as well. I have lobbied you before about this. More soaps are now available worldwide, so...what are your thoughts?
Hey Alex. Economie gold blades aren't one I'm familiar with. You have me intrigued now. I shall use Google search once this has been typed! I need to have a good long think about the updated super six. One of the reasons I choose those particular soaps and creams was the ease of access to them all worldwide in each country. There are some excellent soaps now being made by artisans but still, the majority of them are costly once shipping costs have been added etc., so that has to be taken into account but I'll have a think about it. Cheers. Kevy 😀👍
Nice list Kevy. I like Nacets as well have used them more often lately. Hard to say what my favourite is at the moment. Still use Astra Green but a lot less then in the past (they used to be my go to blade). Others are Gillette 7 o'clock (yellow pack) and Derby Premiums. The Derbys seem to give me the most shaves per blade. I also have a bunch that I have not even tried yet.
hi there the soap used makes the biggest difference to the outcome of the shave. cella proraso or tabac being the most lubricative in my opinion Voskhod being my top choice of blade when cost is considered x
New to DE, trying the Voskhod and I like it better than the Astra Green blade I tried I think. i didn't like the Wilkinson Sword blade that came with the razor, but had already ordered 100 "Gillette" Wilkinson-sword "Saloon"s because of the price - hope they're OK ...
It's best to try as many different blades as you can when you first start out shaving this way. The saloon pack blades are really good. Not harsh feeling and not overly sharp feeling for your skin. Let me know how you get on with them. Kevy 😀👍
Great blades all of them! Nacet is made in Russia, St Petersburg! What is your opinion of Wilkinson Sword Classic, the ones made in Germany? They are my favorites right now, very sharp, and long lasting. Right now I'm on the 16th day and it's still rocking great!
Hi Kevy, What do you think about the euromax blades? Have you ever use one of them? And of you did what are your thoughts about these blades? Thanks for making great shaving video’s. Greetings from the Netherlands
Those Supermax blue diamond titanium blades are amazing, I bought 2000 of them for £47.98 With free postage, for me, I found them the longest lasting blades.
My top 5 blades:- 5. Shark blades(yellow wrapper). 4. Parker blades. 3. Topaz super platinum 2. Feathers(horrendous first shave on every fresh blade though) 1. Voskhod.
Try corking the feather blade for first time use. Get an old wine cork, and draw the feather blade edge through the cork, twice per side. Just a wee bit of the blade. I do it with all blades, not just feathers
Gillette silver blue, nacet, platinum, 7 o 'clock both green and yellow, rubie are made in St.Petersburg, Russia. They are also distributed in Arabic markets therefore the packaging sports arabic alphabet. I don't have a favorite razor(s), but the go to probably, in no particular order are Silver blue, Ladas ,(for use in aggressive open combs), green 7'oclock, Treet platinum is fine, Bic does a good job, Wilkinson Sword. Rapira/Voskhod are worthy. Actually, in my opinion, the majority of blades are decent. Also you get very good results from some blades which aren't in the spotlight-Lord gave me a very nice shave some time ago. As for Feather-Kevy you're in for surprise . Not so long ago I came across the blades they produce called Feather Aobako. They look kinda old school, old Gillette blue type. The come in 5 piece pack with Japanese markings only, so I presume they are produced for domestic market. The blades are blank, no markings. And they are pricey. Kevy, and the rest, stay away from them. These are the the worst blades I've tried in my life-the dullest blade ever. I couldn't even make a half pass and had to abort it. Strange to get such an awful product from otherwise great company. I can only presume these blades are for non-shaving purposes, such as paint scraping and so on. Anyway, you've been warned mate.
Specifically, how do those Nacets compare to the Lab Blues? I'm using the Lab Blues every shave but, I've been curious about the Nacets. Glue dots... yes,no??
KAI blades are #1 for me. But I agree with all your choices. I remember watching that video. lol. Recently I have been enjoying Treet Platinum and Nacet blades in all of my razors. Cheers, Mark
CROutlaw, haven't gotten to the person blue yet. But I do recall the Gillette 7 O'clock as being an awesome shave. I am keeping a spread sheet as to my preference. Have my top 3-4 after every segment. Kinda makes it fun to shave even though it really sucks!
Hi Kevy, What's your favourite blade at the moment? I have been impressed with the Nacet and super impressed with the Super shave X blades. Cheers, stay safe, Dave. 😁😁
Hi and thanks for the tip on the Nacets. I picked up a couple 10 packs at Pasteur’s and they really do cut thru the whiskers impressively. And what’s up with that logo on the pack?
Nice choices! 👍🏻 Love Gillette Nacet and Feather blades. The other blade I really like is the Thai produced Gillette Super Thin. I’ve only discovered them recently, and they’re incredibly smooth. Not easy to source, and a bit more expensive than others, but they also last longer than most other blades I’ve used. Try them if you have the chance.
Great list mate. Nacet were my top as well until I tried Gillette Super Thins. You need to try them out if you get a chance, they are great blades and I can get a minimum of 5 shaves but usually 8-10 out of them. With every other blade 3 or 4 max. Cheers!
Great revisiting your favourite five blades and noticing some changes. Over the years, everything changes right so why not razor blade preference? Never tried the nacets( hard to get in Canada). I’m still using Shaverboy blades most often and love the Gillette silver blue and the derby extra( inconsistant quality thought🧐).also, I’ve got alot of those so gotta use em up LoL! Lord platinum and Blue Bird blades to round it off. Lots more out there to try! Cheers 🍻.
Love your choices! My top 5 include : Pol Silver, Personna Platinum, Nacet, Rapira Platinum Lux, Shark. I just ordered a pack of the Super Max Blue Diamond Blades since I saw you enjoyed them & I hear from quite a few fellow wetshavers who swear by them as being great Blades. Have a great week! Brian
Top 5: Gillette Platinum,Feather,DerbyExtra and Premiums,Gilette Nacet or Lab Blue are a bit of a tie,and Voskhod and is mine, subject to change daily with all the new blades out there😄
MrULski, I have been wet shaving since march. I have been keeping an xcell log of my shaves trying to ween down to a showdown. Not there yet, but the gillette yellow was in the top. Ahhh the trials and tribulations of shaving.
Kevy... another great video. I find myself in constant discovery mode. As I have gotten older (currently 66), it seems my stubble has become coarser, but my skin more sensitive (tendency toward razor burn, particularly on the lower neck). My constant discovery is that of the perfect razor/blade combo that deals with my particular scenario... come to think of it, I guess most wet shavers do that to varying degrees. I find I do better with a milder razor. Currently, I am rotating between Merkur 34c, Merkur 23c, Feather AS-D2, and most recently Rockwell 6S (#2). The blade, however, is another story... been through several brands (Feather, Merkur, Kai, Rockwell, Aster, and several others), but still not satisfied. I think I know what you mean by a love/hate relationship with Feather. Have not tried Nacet, Polsilver, Voskhod, or Permasharp. I do have samples, so will give them a try. I do all the pre-shave prep, the right techniques, etc... but, the trick for me is finding the right razor/blade balance between mowing down my stubble vs. keeping my skin from getting irritated in the process (guess I’m stating the obvious). Thanks for reading through this ramble... and again... thank you for all your excellent videos!
Hi Gary. Keep going with trying blades. You will find one that works. Maybe keep trying the 6S on #2 with different blades to see what works. If you're finding it too rough, go down to number 1 plate. It's a bit,of a pain in the butt as there might be some blades that work better than others and there might be some that won't work at all but I think it's the only way to find out. Try a Gillette Nacet or a Gillette Silver blue. Both not too aggressive but both very smooth. You're using some fantastic razors in your rotation. Keep,at it and things will fall into place. Cheers. Kevy 😀👍
Kevy... tried the Nacet with the 6S on #2 this morning. Wow... those are nice blades! Sharp and efficient, but very smooth and easy on my skin. Going to try the GSB’s for comparison. But, I think the Nacet’s may be my new-found friend. On another note... I bought a tube of Cremo at a local store a couple of weeks ago, not knowing that is is not a lathering cream in the traditional sense. So, I set it aside. I recently ordered some stuff from PAA and while I am waiting on that to arrive, I started wondering about using Cremo as a pre-shave, since I like lathering soaps and cremes. I gave it a try and it worked really well... very slick... or “glidey” as you like to say. Probably not what Cremo had in mind, but it works for me... even boosts the lather quite a bit and it’s pretty inexpensive. Thanks again for the blade recommendations (my neck thanks you, as well)! ;-)
Update: Kevy... I tried the GSB. Very smooth, but I think the Nacet’s have the edge (excuse the pun) on the GSB’s... at least for me. By the way, your other video on the Rockwell comparison convinced me to compare the 6C to my 6S. And if that wasn’t enough... my mail call today had a work of art... an ATT Kronos M1. I’m having WAY too much fun with all this!
I would have to say that the ATT Kronos M1, which is supposed to be their mild razor, is on the aggressive side of mild! When I put the blade in the razor, I noticed a lot more blade reveal than I see on the Rockwell, Feather, or Merkur razors. Sure enough, I could feel it, too. Got the 6C today. Looking forward to something more glidey!
Hi Kevy What do you think of Rockwell blades paired with Rockwell 6s..I tried with number 4 plate still got some red spots and no cuts just like irritation?? Wonder if it’s blade and I also got Gillette Super Stainless wonder if I should change blade?? Trying to figure out what would be just right? Cheers Alan
Gillette Super stainless are excellent blades. I like a Gillette Nacet in my 6S. The Rockwell blades don't seem to get very good reviews. Cheers. Kevy 👍

My top are 1) Shark Super Chrome, 2) Voskhod Teflon Coated, 3) Feather Hi Stainless, 4) Derby Premium Black, and 5) Persona Pesonna Comfort. It's really close between my top two tbh.
Great list. However, favorite DE blades lists can vary by any person because some DE blades on this list may or may not be for one person or another. But hey, give them a try and see how they'll work out for you. Trust me, performance and feel is what really matters the most
Hi Kevy nice selection. Just to be controversial l think Kai blades are the sharpest I have used, more so than Feathers. #cat amongst the pidgin. Agree with you that go to blades are Astra’s and Gillette’s 🙏
Apparently in 1989 Gillette bought a stake (22%) in the company that owned Wilkinson Sword and got the rights to Wilkinson Sword outside of the European Union, ergo Gillette Wilkinson Sword.
Hi Kevy! So I am preparing to change from cartridge to DE. I currently use Gillette Sensor cartridges. Do you have a blade recommendation that would behave/feel similar?
Thanks Kevy - always thoughtful, helpful and very informative! Great choices. Now to place another order to replenish stocks....not that they're running particularly low ;-)
Thanks. Favourite set up? That's a difficult one to call. I know the razor would be the Rockwell 6S but the rest of the shave, I'd need to have a good think about that! Cheers. Kevy 😀👍
Its usually 3 shaves but sometimes I go for 4 if it still feels ok after 3 shavrs. I shouldn't risk it really, blades are cheap and I have loads of them to get through. Cheers. Kevy 👍
This guy just seems like the nicest person ever! Very nice to watch. Gives you a boost for a good day

Always find that the second shave with the blade is the best.
I agree, thought it was just me, recently tried Kai and to me as sharp as Feather but smoother, no nicks or rash at all.
I agree with this as well...second shave with the blade always seems smoother.
Great shave, Kevy. The best to you, Mrs. Kevy and Riley.
I’m amazed people get so many used from them 🤷🏻♂️
The Rapira gets me two good ones and zero irritation but not quite as close.
The GP 3-4 VERY comfortable and close shaves. If I had to settle for one it’s these.
Time to film your top razors, soaps and subscribers :)

Baili Platinum+ blades from Swedish 6CR13 stainless steel deserve more attention. Word on the street is that they are Personna blades.
Great review - but still my favorite is the Voskhod Razor Blades!
I've never used them, even though I have an unopened 5-pack in my blade drawer. I'll be giving them a shot this week
Voskhod the smoothest I’ve ever found
I agree great blade made in Russia I think
I really love the voskhod , astra platinums then the rockwell blades do really great in my rockwell 6c and model T . I'm curious how they will perform in my 1958 d4 fatboy I bought and sent off to razor emporium to get tuned up . .
Nice. They do great work on restoring razors. Kevy 👍
Tried the Wilkinson sword blades. Very nice shave. They weren't the Gillette brand
Nacets are great blades. Yes, the glue bumps on the .Feathers is annoying. Kevy 😀👍

The Nacet text is in Arabic. It says "Made in Russia" and imported by an Egyptian company.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts good sir!
Hey Leo, thanks for watching and the comment. Let me know how you get on with the Nacets if you try them. Cheers. Kevy 👍
@@kevyshaves4109 Kevy, Aloha from Hawaii! I finally received the Nacet blades and tried them today and I do like them, so thanks again.
Feathers are great blades. Kevy 👍
Thanks Patrick. That's a great list. Keep going trying more, there's lots of great blades out there. Kevy 😀👍
Take care.
Great comment s usual Todd. I need to try some vintage blades. Feathers seem to be loved or loathed in this community! Lol! Cheers. Kevy 😀👍
Cheers! -Rob
Cheers Rob. I've not really tried many of the vintage blades but I hear some are excellent. Kevy 😀
Really agree with you Kevy , I was just Thinking about Buying the Super Max Titanium Blades myself ,I have Nickel allergies
so I would probably do good with them.
Astra blades are great but they don’t have double wrap. Wish they would
This was 2019 Kevy, what is you favorite blade now? If I could only use one make of blade going forward I would probably choose Nacet. I find all Gillette blades good though.
Dave 😁😁
I'll be doing an update soon. Kevy 👍
@@kevyshaves4109 Ah great! I'll look forward to it. 😁😁
When I first started DE shaving about 10 years ago I found Feather too sharp too however, on reflection I believe it may have been my technique. Better technique makes a dramatic difference and I don't even get weapers now with them.
Because of one of your reviews, I decided to try Nacets... They are by far my new favorite blades. Thanks!!! Cheers from Chicago...
Good to hear you like them. Kevy 👍
Cheers. Kevy 😀👍
@@kevyshaves4109 Thank you for indulging me by pondering amending the Super Six. That's all I ask. Notice I used "amend" instead of replace.
Cheers Shawn. Kevy 😀👍
hi there the soap used makes the biggest difference to the outcome of the shave. cella proraso or tabac being the most lubricative in my opinion Voskhod being my top choice of blade when cost is considered x
What kind of razor also! I can’t just put any old blade in my R-41
I've just revisited the Wilkinson Sword blades. I had a good shave with it. I'll need to use it some more. Kevy 😀
Why everyone keeps saying it's made in Russia, while the one he shows are made in Egypt.
Russia also making Gillett platinum which is great

Egypt company may be distributor Cairo
I would have the Kai blades in there, the NOS Gillette Stainless (red pack), and the Vintage "The Spoiler" Blades.
Arent the kai blades even more expensive than feathers?
I believe so. A 5 pack of Kai about $3.45 and a 10 pack of Feather $4.50. They last longer.
I haven't really tried many vintage blades. Kevy 👍
Hi kevy,
Which would you say are smoother blades Nacet or Silver blue? I think I am going to need a super smooth blade for my Envoy.
Dave.
I think Nacets are smoother. Kevy 👍

Hi Kevy,
What do you think about the euromax blades? Have you ever use one of them? And of you did what are your thoughts about these blades? Thanks for making great shaving video’s. Greetings from the Netherlands
I'm sure I've used them in the past. I can't recall what they were like. I'll see if I can find some amongst my blade stash. Kevy 👍
Those Supermax blue diamond titanium blades are amazing, I bought 2000 of them for £47.98 With free postage, for me, I found them the longest lasting blades.
2000? That should do you! Cheers. Kevy 👍
My top 5 blades:-
5. Shark blades(yellow wrapper).
4. Parker blades.
3. Topaz super platinum
2. Feathers(horrendous first shave on every fresh blade though)
1. Voskhod.
Great list! I need to revisit Shark blades, they seem to be on a few top 5 lists. Cheers. Kevy 👍😀
Thanks for the heads up. I'll steer clear of those blades. Cheers. Kevy 😀
very good imformative video! definetely going to check out some of these blades!
Specifically, how do those Nacets compare to the Lab Blues? I'm using the Lab Blues every shave but, I've been curious about the Nacets. Glue dots... yes,no??
Yes, the Nacets have two glue dots (unfortunately).
Glue dots, yes but not too bad. I think they are a little smoother feeling for me than Lab Blues. Kevy 👍
Excellent. Well done that man
Great video. Where can I buy these blades online? Which site would you recommend?

KAI blades are #1 for me. But I agree with all your choices. I remember watching that video. lol. Recently I have been enjoying Treet Platinum and Nacet blades in all of my razors. Cheers, Mark
Cheers Mark. I need to restock the den with some Kai blades. Kevy 👍

Good list. Here's mine: 1) Feather 2) Gillette 7 O'clock Super Platinum 3) Perma-Sharp Super 4) Personna Lab Blue 5) Voskhod
Thanks. Your list is good too. Kevy 😀👍
CROutlaw, haven't gotten to the person blue yet. But I do recall the Gillette 7 O'clock as being an awesome shave. I am keeping a spread sheet as to my preference. Have my top 3-4 after every segment. Kinda makes it fun to shave even though it really sucks!

I'm not sure Dave. Kevy 👍
Great list, Kevy! The Silver Blues are my top pick. They always perform the best for me.
Hi and thanks for the tip on the Nacets. I picked up a couple 10 packs at Pasteur’s and they really do cut thru the whiskers impressively. And what’s up with that logo on the pack?
I'm not sure why they have the alligator being cut in half! Lol! Cheers. Kevy 👍
Just ordered some perma sharp, nacet and silver blues, i hope your right 🤔😬

@@kevyshaves4109 Thank you very much for your quick response! I wish all the best!
Thanks mate, the Nacets are my favourite right now as well !
I've heard those Gillette thins are an excellent blade. Kevy 👍
Great list mate. Nacet were my top as well until I tried Gillette Super Thins. You need to try them out if you get a chance, they are great blades and I can get a minimum of 5 shaves but usually 8-10 out of them. With every other blade 3 or 4 max. Cheers!
Thanks Dustin. Wow, those Gillette superthins sound great if you can get more shaves out of each blade. I'll have a look for them. Cheers. Kevy 👍
Cheers 🍻.
I truly enjoyed your review. I join the other comments and put the Voskhod blades in the top two of my selections.
Brian
I'm sure there are lots of great blades out there I've yet to try. Thanks for sharing your list Brian. Kevy 👍
How many shaves do you get out of a blade? On average. I get 2, again on average.
Usually 3 shaves for me. Some vintage blades I can get more out of for some reason. 👍
How did you menaged to fine Perma-sharp that was made in Turkey? It's been years since they moved production to Russia.
Im not sure where or when i got those blades from! 🤷♂️

Thanks for sharing your list Troy. There are so many great blades out there, it's difficult to narrow it down to a top five. Cheers. Kevy 👍
At the moment I like the gillette yellow 7 o’clock sharp edge and Rapira platinum lux.
MrULski, I have been wet shaving since march. I have been keeping an xcell log of my shaves trying to ween down to a showdown. Not there yet, but the gillette yellow was in the top. Ahhh the trials and tribulations of shaving.
I like the Nacets too but my favourite are the Gillette Rubie Plus although they are proving harder to find these days.
Polsilver, Shark super chrome and Voskhod would definitely be in my top 5
I've went off Voskhod just now. Had a couple,of rough shaves using them. I'll come back to them again. Kevy 😀
Kevy... another great video.
Thanks again for the blade recommendations (my neck thanks you, as well)! ;-)
Brilliant Gary! Thanks for letting me know. If the Cremo works for you, keep using it. Cheers. Kevy 👍
Great to see an update on the top 5👍💈💈

Apparently in 1989 Gillette bought a stake (22%) in the company that owned Wilkinson Sword and got the rights to Wilkinson Sword outside of the European Union, ergo Gillette Wilkinson Sword.

Thanks. Favourite set up? That's a difficult one to call. I know the razor would be the Rockwell 6S but the rest of the shave, I'd need to have a good think about that! Cheers. Kevy 😀👍
Kevy, how many times you shave per
Blade? I fight to throw anything away so I probably use a blade way too many times! Lol
Its usually 3 shaves but sometimes I go for 4 if it still feels ok after 3 shavrs. I shouldn't risk it really, blades are cheap and I have loads of them to get through. Cheers. Kevy 👍
