Cement have comprehensive strength but less shear strength on wall surface with tiles surface
While adhesive have more shear resistance strength and also have no requirement of curing due to present of polymer.. while cement mortar needs curing to gain complete strength and you can't curing under tile.
So vitrified tile with adhesive will better than ceramic tile with cement mortar

Befor installing make sure wall surface should be thoroughly roughed.
