    Thank you for the video very interesting. I have had my camera for just over a week and encountered a few issues including where the camera has stayed on all the time. Unfortunately when I had this fitted and hard wired I was not taken through any of these items and just thought once fitted it did not need me to do anything else - also I had not been told, and nothing on the box - to say the camera needed to be charged before use. Therefore on a long journey home the dash cam was not working! I think the installer should have gone through more of the settings than he did so thank you for this video. I will do this tomorrow

    I have the 522GW hardwired to an ignition source and parking mode DOES work while the ignition is off. The internal battery of the camera powers just the G sensor in parking mode and will only record a 5 minute video if it detects a bump then power off leaving the just G sensor active again. I tested this and confirm it works without a constant live feed from the cars battery. I would personally recommend anyone not using their car at least every other day NOT having it installed to a permanent live feed (NextBase mobile installation guy told me that). From what I’ve read the internal battery (with parking mode on, the g sensor active, screensaver on and auto power off set to on ) should be good for about a week.

      @@MADMODS fair enough but it tells you on the hardwire kit to use an ignition switched fuse so a bit contradictory with there information to be honest 🤷🏻‍♂️ what i don't understand is as soon as your voltage drops below 12v it turns off and uses the internal battery anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️ the parking mode is annoying because as soon as you open the door to get in your car it protects the video so you end up with loads of videos of you getting into your car so i just dont bother using it 🤷🏻‍♂️ so tell me what is the point of the internal battery then ?

      The battery is constantly discharging and charging regardless. I had an older nextbase model for 4 years prior to my current model and the battery was fine wired to an ignition source with parking mode active. It’s also more likely to shorten the life of a lithium iron battery by not letting it discharge and recharge once in a while.

    The G-Sensor is a nightmare. Mine was set to MEDIUM by default and when driving it would record at least one 'incident' per mile. I tried it on LOW and it still happened albeit less frequently but when I hit a hole in the road or a lip of a change of road surface it would still trigger. So I now have it set to OFF.

    • @mojoo9386

    Don’t know what dash cam model your setting this up but this is completely wrong for Nextbase 622gw.
    With Parking Mode on if the vehicle detects physical movement it will then record a 45 second protected clip before returning to standby mode. In standby mode it will set the G Sensor to the highest setting regardless of power supply. Constant power is recommended for Parking Mode enabled. If Parking Mode is off when the camera enters standby mode it will not record anything.
    Screensaver mode will only turn off the screen after 30 seconds after no interaction with the dash cam when in recording mode.
    The G Sensor setting it for when the camera is recording normally and has no effect on Parking Mode.
    The Auto Power Off will adjust the time the camera stays on after losing constant power. Off the camera will turn off after 10 seconds. If set to On the camera will turn off after 30 seconds.
    If the camera has constant power the camera will turn off after 5 minutes if the camera detects no movement of the vehicle.

    I had just the standard nextbase cam and someone did a hit and run in a car park, causing £2140 worth of damage to my vehicle. Luckily, it keeps recording for 15 minutes and caught the old girl hitting my vehicle, best £69 ever spent ,I've just upgraded to one with the rear camera and a hard wire kit ,and will put on bump mode do you get any problems with the wind setting the camera off ? Gutted. It makes sense but I didn't know you needed the permanent power source for parking mode. Had someone snap my window wiper off and was hoping this could've captured something like this if it happeend again.
    Should've done my research but I understand why it wouldn't capture motion 😪

    • @luciussander8217
      @luciussander8217 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it will drain your car battery. This guy has no clue what he's doing, another idiot on TH-cam people need to ignore. You hardwire to something that only has power when the ignition comes on. In parking mode, it'll use its internal battery, it does not need to be wired to a permanent live. I own this dashcam, hard wired it in myself to an ignition source in just a few minutes and can confirm it will record off its own battery if triggered.

    • @MADMODS
      @MADMODS  ปีที่แล้ว

      @The Suspect Guilty the battery dosnt last long hence the reason to hardwire it for parking mode. the camra shouldn't get hot it's self but if you pull the camra off the magnetic mount the plate behind is a heat sink and gets hot.
      but a overly hot camra is probably faulty.
