It was THE most popular song played in the asian community in the West at the time. Almost every asian kids and teenagers had that same haircut, outfits and even learned dancing and piano because of it! I personally think it was a lot more popular in other countries than it was in Korea.

Fun/beautiful fact: our YoungBae is a Christian so his wedding ceremony was probably like this one in his mv😌💕..that church is really famous in SK, its used for Kdramas also and its a real church with a beautiful garden all around ..sadly we don't have pics of his wedd ceremony but we have videos of his wedding reception/party inspired and decored by the TWILIGHT wedding disegner scene movie😌💕(YoungBae searched and hired that disegner😏) .. Our YoungBae and our sister in law Min HyoRin🤵👰 danced on A THOUSANDS YEARS song at their wedding was so touching he was a little nervous🤧🥰💞💞💞💞💞

It may feel global because Taeyang was working with a famous choreographers Shaun Everesto and later with Lyle Beniga(they're one of the dancer in this video and more Taeyang's mvs) These 2 people have worked with famous stars in the west and Bigbang brought them into Kpop world, Lyle branches out to China and chinese star later.
