- In this video, we dive deep into Indonesian culture in Banyumas, Central Java.
We had a jam packed day full of learning and excitement! We visited Oemah Gamelan where they make musical instruments and also have live performances. We visited a local performing arts school, SMK Negeri 3. We watched a live performance of Ebeg, where the performers entered trance and were possessed by spirts. And finally, we spent time with a local family and learned about Gamelan Calung!

Di Jawa Tengah tedapat beberapa aksen dlm bahasa tradisional nya, "ngapak" artinya huruf konsonan disebut lebih jelas dlm pengucapannya. dan intonasinya sangat berbeda dg pengucapan bahasa jawa di daerah yg lain misalnya solo atau Yogyakarta. Selamat belajar... semangat yaaa 😊👍👍💕💕

I really really love your channel and you guys especially. I love how you guys are so humble and pure of curiosity and respectful. Your humility really shows in how you guys interact with locals and how you learn our language, not just learning it but actively trying to practice it everytime. I know like at the end of the day there are some sort of profiteering happening, lol, it's TH-cam after all! I mean some TH-cam people out there are just using Indonesia for content and viewership baits and they're soooooooo fucking above themselves when they interact woth locals! I can name a few, cause I've been watching A LOT of Indonesian travel videos because how much I fucking miss my country.
But the way you guys show your excitement everytime you guys discover a mew place or eating a new food, or talking to locals, it feels very heartwarming for me as an Indonesian living in Europe! I guess I really miss my people after all and I'm happy that the locals you met and you guys treat each other nicely!
I say though, ypu guys should be the "foster TH-camr" when visiting Indonesia hahaha! I mean I wouldn't know if you left out all the nasty parts out of the video! You guys can obviously be disruptive, well a bunch of white dudes in rural parts of Indonesia is in itself already VERY disruptive 😂! But you guys are also humble, curious, FUN, and respectful! At the end of the day everybody is happy and me too is happy watching your vidos!

We've actually been here for 2 years and were traveling for 6+ months before we even started our channel. It was during this time that we well in love with the country...the culture, nature, food, and of course people. We saw a lot of foreign vloggers on youtube during this time too (some who definitely reflect what you're saying) and we knew that if we started this, we could be as genuine/authentic as possible, truly explore Indonesia, and respect the culture/people as best we can. We also want to encourage other foreigners to truly explore Indonesia too, rather than just get caught up in the touristy and popular areas.
