Now that CSGO is officially no longer supported by Valve, perhaps this can serve as the base for some great leaps in development time now that the CSCO team doesnt have to worry about a sudden update being pushed setting everything back.
It's good to see the likes of Crowbar Collective still be a part of the modding scene at heart and let others utilize their assets in such way. From what I could see, Dustfade also lent some assets to CSCO so props to them aswell. Great job on the map, can't wait to play it and I hope the retirement of CSGO will finally allow this mod to live its best life
Stoked for the full release of Classic Offensive on Steam. I'll definitely support it since it has been an excellent modding project. Been following it since 2016 and every update is a huge step despite the obstacles Valve throw in between. Talking about Zool, that man is crazy talented and his modding knowledge is shocking. I remember his zombie mod for CS Source called CS Zombie Extermination. It's pretty fun.
I actually made a video talking about how I felt Counter-Strike identity should be rooted in Half-Life. You make a very good presentation. The mapping @3:11 with the soda machines with the colour lighting, that is called Supernormal Saturation and it is also an important part of Counter-Strike.
Any news on Counter Strike Classic Offensive is just music to my ears, been following the project since 2016 and played the crap out of it from 2017-2020.

Please, hear me out! While this work is unbelievably amazing, I want you to consider one thing: Huge part of CS1.6's success was visuals. Especially color scheme. CS1.6 had bright and distinct colors on each map. I think, this version of Nuke lacks that. While everything looks exactly like Black Mesa, visuals are SO plain. Just compare red container from 1.6 and from CO. I think, 1.6 colors are much more pleasant, and that could play a major role in success of CO. Another example, I can clearly remember that the floor of A site was kinda blue, and here - it's gray. And while it's more realistic and visually impressive, I think it strifes away from original too far.
This is a massive improvement, what a great work. But seriously, I miss the old CSCO weapons Instead overhauling the classic/og guns model and animation I more love it when it still a modificaton of CSGO guns but with a bit touch of CS 1.6 style, Iykwim

when you want to map on Source1 there are a lot of tutorials by Topphat Waffle, old quick tip videos by 3clicksphillip and long videos by World of Leveldesign. For half-life 1 mapping the basics of Source apply as well, but for Goldsource mapping help more reading is required. The people named above are coming out with Source 2 content too. And World of Leveldesign offers Unreal content as well as well as payed additional content.
I love this cause some parts in Nuke Really Reminds me of Black Mesa, For example Bombsite B, Reminds me of Chapter Lambda Complex, where areas look exactly the same just in a different place. makes sense when this map is a weapons research facility having a name called Nuke, It would be interesting lore if one of those weapons Nuked Black Mesa at the end 💥
Actually struck me so hard how good the modernized graphics version of the classic seal at 0:35 looks. Makes me kinda wish Counterstrike as a series had stuck its art style closer to 80's-90's style tactical gear rather than matching its operators to whatever era the game was released in.
Valve derailed CSP ( cs pro mod ) as well back in the day too! A engine update would come out then the mod would break and the mod devs would have create a hotfix patch for it etc etc.
funny, it's somewhat similar in some places to my simple 1.6 map version recreation in csgo from like 2017 or something, which I hyperbolically named 1.6 Nuke Remastered or something this is so much better

one of my issues w working in css hammer compared to csgo hammer was not being able to do things like a free for all last one standing game in css, and with csgo the weirder kinda neutered physics engine. i'm more excited for csco as a mapper than i am as a player, do you think csco will have the best of both worlds on the mapping/custom content creation side of things as well?
The Silo should stay on A or the boxes higher so Ts have post plant cover. The window in hut should be removed for the same reason, maybe just a bullet proof window that you can see but not shoot through, make the hut like a sciency-y blast shield room. I would remove 2nd vent the same way, A is way too CT sidef

Dope remake! I love CS stuff that embraces its HL roots. Also super based of the Crowbar Collective to allow you to use their assets. As a TFS2 team member, the same could not be said about how well it ended for us ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Please check out the original Half-Life because it just plays better than Black Mesa. (Also play CS Classic Offensive when it gets released. The Mod looks amazing and Classic CS is goated)
I love Classic Offensive! But first, people are moving or have already moved to CS2 and second, how is CS:CO going to continue if CS:GO IS GOING AWAY, since it is a mod of it? What will they do with the mod in question, will they abandon it and leave it half done or will they move to CS2 like everyone else?
I understand what CS Classic Offensive is and stuff like that but we already have a remake of OG CS aka Counter-Strike Source. Sure, for some it maybe bad game, but honestly I don't see how it is a bad game. Sure, it is not perfect but not a bad game that's for sure. At least that is what CSS for me is.

Everyone who played it never took the shield, and if they did, they got kicked out of the game because nobody wanted to deal with it. At least that is what it was back when I played 1.6. And rocket launcher? Seriously?? WTF is the point of rocket launcher in a game, that has no armored vehicles or any transport at all??? Like, it is a first person shooter on a small map between two teams that is developing tactic to win a match. So what's the point of adding a rocket launcher, to further unbalance the game or what??? And if you wanted to use rocket launcher then play Battlefield. It is justified there because there is point to use it, but not in Counter-Strike. But if you gonna want to transform Counter-Strike in to Battlefield then it means that CS will lose it's identity to become something else. Thus it would not be a Counter-Strike anymore. I can see the point in M60 but not in a fragging Rocket Launcher!

Valve even making modding for a live service game possible is an admirable effort. It's conceptually a weird thing to allow modding in any capacity for your live service game. There aren't a single reason too (not even for modders in the first place), aside from Valve's own philosophy of how to run their company. Which probably states something about modern gaming industry. CS2 release can actually make things easier, since in order to mod the game it at least has to be in "done and gone" state. You can't mod the construction site, but you can mod the house that valve built.
YES this is Nuke! Classic Offensive sadly isn't getting a license because the people are doing what Valve hasn't done since 2004 CS:S. Because this way they will steal all the player base from CS2 to Classic Offensive. CS2 no longer feels as Counter-Strike. It's now a copy version of Valorant. Also can you bring back Aztec but rebalanced?
Philip revealed why CS:CO will never be official. Valve won't give license to this game in fear of splitting the fan base like it was in 1.6 and Source. Especially now while CS2 is developing, allowing CS:CO to exist will leak players from CS2. Maybe in the future when CS2 is stable and they reap a lot of profit out of it, they might allow CS:CO to exist, but until then - this project looks hopeless, which is sad, because I am playing CS since 1.3 and I love the love letter that CS:CO is to the fanbase.
I'd rather this Nuke over the trash non sense we have now. Valve made modding almost impossible years back. I made a couple HL mods and HL2 mods but could never figure out modding CSGO. I am not even going to attempt learning to mod CS2.

If classic Counter Strike is based on HL and Source is based on HL2, CS2 should use HL:Alyx's assets. Change my mind.

Please check out the original Half-Life because it just plays better than Black Mesa. (Also play CS Classic Offensive when it gets released. The Mod looks amazing and Classic CS is goated)

We can go back in cs:go, you just have to go into properties, beta and select csgo_legacy.
CS:CO is going to be distributed using its own AppID packaged with everything needed to run.
