Translating Chinese Hanfu into Korean Hanbok is a huge translation error. I hope it can be corrected and the controversy eliminated.

The creator of this video is most likely using a translator. Many translators will incorrectly translate Hanfu into Hanbok.
It may also be because of this reason that many people mistakenly speak Hanfu in English when promoting it. In addition, some Koreans (I don’t know if they intentionally steal Hanfu) refer to some cultural relics that are clearly from China and the clothes are Hanfu as Hanbok, and restore many non-existent Hanbok, which makes the Chinese people really bored some Koreans who steal other countries’ culture
*I kind of want to ask, is the culture of stealing really intentional? In the past, when promoting Hanbok abroad, some Koreans wore the clothes of blue Di Yi藍翟衣 from China and China's unique fenghuang crown鳳冠 instead of the clothes-blue Di Yi and Korea's unique headgear - headdress from Korea's Joseon era.
Even some creators who restored Hanbok from different eras directly used Chinese Hanfu to "restore" it because there were no relevant contemporary cultural relics. When they were discovered, they did not feel that they were wrong. They even refused to admit that some Korean clothing originally originated from China (and was later localized by South Korea into Hanbok). ) and the fact that it was influenced by China, blatantly ignoring the historical documents of China and Korea to say that Hanfu originated from Hanbok
[famous cases include "Goryeo-yang", which is an element of Goryeo clothing that influenced the nobles of the Yuan Dynasty (they not wore Hanfu), but so far there is no any Cultural relics and definite evidence pointed out that Hanfu (During the Yuan Dynasty, the Han Chinese had no contact with the nobility and could not be influenced at all) was affected.
By the Ming Dynasty, Chinese Hanfu still retained many elements of Song Dynasty Hanfu.
During the Ming Dynasty, China gave Hanfu to the Joseon many times. After being localized in Korean Peninsula , it evolved into some of today's Hanbok styles. Therefore, Hanfu and Hanbok are somewhat similar. ]
At the same time, there are also many other Chinese Hanfu that are unique to China and have been labeled as Korean Hanbok by some Koreans, whether intentionally or unintentionally, such as horse-faced skirts, cloud shoulders, shawls, etc.
Even some traditional Chinese hairstyles are mistakenly labeled as Korean traditional hairstyles by some Koreans. *
Hanbok of link, there have a picture about the clothes of Koreans "blue Di Yi" and unique headgear form 貴族禮服(noble dress) :

Mesurements of the cloth...of the hanfu?

  • @lianlian_lotus_chaos

Some of what you’ve said feels a little extreme compared to my own personal opinions (I’m not criticizing your opinion!! I’m just comparing it to mine. You’re completely entitled to your opinion) I feel that knowing the entire history of things like clothes isn’t necessary. Here’s the thing: I, as someone of Indian descent, would not be able to tell you the history or fabrics or nuances of Indian clothing. I can tell you what it feels like, when it’s worn, how to wear it, etc., but I cannot truly tell you anything more than what any other non-Indian person who’s done some research could. I understand and APPRECIATE the culture behind these clothes, and I think that is what truly matters. I love to see non-Indians making efforts to learn about the clothing and culture and everything else, so I think that saying that they need to be extremely well versed in it is unreasonable. These clothes are just clothes in the end!! Yes, they are important and valuable and I truly do understand their value, but they are clothes. I dare you to see how many ethnic people can give you an in depth explanation of their clothing’s history. Why should we require so much as a stipulation to share our cultures? You may feel a pit in your stomach when you see people in your culture’s traditional clothing, and I do too sometimes. But then I feel overwhelming joy when they start asking questions and as they try to proudly show off the small things they’ve learned about my culture because it means “oh my god they’re learning! They love my culture too!! :DD”. I refuse to believe that people “need” to understand everything about my culture and it’s freaking clothing of all things when even I could never begin to understand it all myself (AS AN ETHNIC PERSON!!). I disagree with some points you brought up and agree with some others, but this comment on the smallest details of clothing and needing to understand them felt too unreasonable not to give my opinion on it. As long as people are kind about it and show a genuine effort to appreciate my culture, I welcome and will continue to welcome them with open arms to love my culture with me. You made a nice video though, and I appreciate how you took initiative to speak out about something that violated your morals and beliefs.

This video is translated incorrectly. Hanbok is a traditional costume of South Korea and North Korea. The traditional costume of the Chinese Han people in the video is called Hanfu, not Hanbok. 😢

It feels like the creator of this video either can't tell the difference between the English of Hanfu and Hanbok, or the translator he/she used caused a translation error. Because many translators translate Hanfu into Hanbok.
