This case has always amazed be from the perspective of someone who didn't grow up in a very rural area: the idea of finding random food or drinks on my doorstep and doing anything besides immediately throwing it away just absolutely blows my mind...but I also know that people in rural communities often tend to be much more trusting of their neighbors. Honestly, it sounds really nice to be able to be so trusting. It's just tragic that that lovely characteristic was used against this family in such a sadistically cruel way. Poor Peggy. May her memory be a blessing. 💔 Also, I too recently lost a parent (my dad) and so I totally understand how raw and painful you must feel. My dad died of cancer, and this was especially hard for me to listen to, because the agonizing way Peggy died sounds horribly similar to the way my dad died. Wishing you and your family all the best. ❤️
We used to leave our bottled cokes outside near the carport door that led too the laundry room (I'm talking about glass bottles). I don't know why but my parents eventually stopped doing that for whatever reason (not this case). George Trepal found a why to pry the tops off and no one was none the wiser. Most people wouldn't have had the knowledge to do what he did AND get the tops back on without it being obvious. And we did not live in a 'rural' area.
@@maryleachmanbeautyconsultant Hah! That's funny- my dad loved soda, and because the glass bottles took up so much room in the fridge that my mom would make him keep the bottles in the box outside that was apparently originally meant for milk delivery. As far as I know, nobody ever took any soda. And yeah, I was amazed that George was somehow able to take the tops off the bottles, tamper with the coke, and then replace the bottle caps...all without it being at all obvious to any of the people who opened and drank the poisoned drinks!! It's both sad and terrifying to imagine that someone could even do something so incredibly evil and twisted at all...what a total waste of an extremely intelligent mind.
I've always said that any man who claims women are "the weaker sex" should try giving natural birth...then he can come back and tell me how "weak" I supposedly am. ☺️

I heard this first on American Justice but you add A LOT more details. Thank you!!
It seems like I’ve heard this story a million times but you managed to include things that I didn’t know. Great job!
Very intriging! Thx for covering this case.
A case in Japan involved poisened soft drinks left at bus stops and people just drank them!!
Who would do that?
Our polk county sheriff is the best! Grady Judd
He is a HOOT. I love him.
