Not sure. There was a three week period of reruns then a week or so ago he was back with a few new videos and a quick explanation of having been the hospital, then reruns started again, so suspect continued health issues. Nothing else known.
Man those 50s car’s were absolutely stunning looking! I can imagine being in the dealer floor in those day’s, looking at hem beauty’s!👌🥰👍 hope and pray Steve is doing better.🙏
Sorry you're not feelin' 100... Hope you keep on keepin' on! Wrenchin' with Kenny let me know how you're in it right now, and could use some more car lovin' friends... So here I am! I'm watching my way through your collection, and asking the universe to have mercy on you brother... I wish you and yours the best of health, happiness, and wealth in all your future adventures, (of which I hope there are many!). Get well soon, you have too much life left to live! I may be a new friend, but I'm here for you! ✌️😎👍
Get well soon Steve. I just watched Jay Leno's channel yesterday where he featured his 57 Hemi Imperial 2 door. Those things were banned from demo derby's because of the heavy duty frame.
I'm pretty sure he did one a few months ago. A '69 Chevy Sportvan, if I recall correctly. Since we're going through a series of reruns, it may turn up again soon. Here's hoping that everything is OK with our friend and teacher, Steve. I look forward to these videos every day, as do many of us out here in TH-camLand!
If I remember correctly, car columnist Tom Mc Cahill stated the rings around the tail lights were called "Sparrow Strainers". They are also on my '59 Imperial Custom South Hampton Coupe.
Another re-run, which is getting concerning each day that we do not see Mr. Magnante. I hope he is doing OK and sorting out whatever is keeping him out of the game. As said last time: From 1955 to 1975, (and again from 1981 to 1983) Imperial was technically a separate brand of Chrysler, but in the end, they were often sold at Chrysler-Plymouth dealers, so that really dashed the "exclusivity" of buying one. They often did have their own "Imperial" sign at the dealership as some form of exclusivity. We (barely) got the VIN, and we win: LY1 for 1958 Imperial and the rest is the production sequence. Through the 1958 model year, they were assembled at the Jefferson Road facility in Detroit, MI which was located at Jefferson Avenue and Clairpointe Avenue, between East Jefferson Avenue and Freud Street. This facility operated from 1925 to 1990. Today "Jefferson Ave North" still operates and produces the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango. In 1959, production was moved to a facility on Warren Ave which is now part of the Mack Ave complex and will eventually be an assembly plant again. No tag, can't brag, but possible code "K" Satin Gray exterior paint, possible 634 for Imperial Crown four door hardtop, 91 for Monaco Silver interior trim, (or 61 in the case of a Southampton hardtop) among other codes. If it was equipped with a Sure Grip, it would have code "399" on the tag, and that option was about $51.70 in 1958. This is one where it would have been handy to have the trim tag as it would have revealed a lot about this particular car and its options.
I hope Steve is getting his Mopar together and running while he is taking a break, can't wait to see him grabbing gears in it and smoking some vintage polyester tires 🚓💨💨
Doing a video in short sleeves when there's snow on the ground, and getting that big cut on your arm....That can't be fun. Don't forget to pay attention to your health Steve. We'll enjoy the videos just as much if not more if you're taking enough care to not be suffering while making them.
Hey Steve. I met a guy who had a farmall tractor, International Harvester. I mentioned that The logo was designed by Raymond Loewy and was a tractor with a man on it. He said no one usually knows that. I got that from your videos. Thanks
Gotta love the days of the land-yacht! After I typed that, I flashed on two VW bugs coming out and acting as tugboats to get her into a parking space at K-Mart. Really enjoying these peeks into how things used to be! 🥸👍👀✅
Steve I'm your age and my skin gets thin where your arm is skinned mines caused by dehydration and drinking a minimum of a half gallon of water a day keeps that from happening

..geez Steve...looks like the cars are winning...take it easy out there.............I've owned 61 and 64 Imperials.....great cars.....thanks....
Enjoy every one of these. Thx Steve!
I watch a lot of Perry Mason. I always marvel at how bizarre automotive styling was in the late 50’s!
I remember watching a Perry Mason episode or two, where he was actually motoring about in 1958 and 59 Lincolns.
I was hooked the first time I saw his 58 Lincoln as I had one at that same time, 17 years old in 2007.
Good video, rerun. But a good one ❤
Always liked the big heavy American cars.
Go over the bumps pretty nicely....
Another GREAT vid Steve!!!! 👍👍

8:00 Ahhhh...I don't think those Imperials had dual exhaust. Even though it packed the 345 hp 392 Hemi. Better check on that. Lee
Get well soon, Steve
"In States that allowed it." Interesting. I didn't know that applied to items like dual or single headlights.
I caught that one too
Even back then the government wanted to control you and dictate how many headlights your car can have.
The bloody arms thou! Super Shane is there to keep you from bleeding out?

Man I want that Imperial Crown. Slip a 426 Hemi in it. 4 wheel disk brakes. It will cost more than it's worth. But it would be a labor of love.

A lot of those 392’s just “dissapeared” out of those 50’s Chryslers and Imperials, lol. There were no mail order ones until the Donovan in 1972.
