Exactly my point, notice when he has a so called message from a loved one say a father, he goes straight into his fairytale, the person should ask immediately what is their fathers name ? and bingo the game is up. What is wrong with people ? this scam trick has been running since the 1800's
Let's break down his cold reading techniques:
1. Points out into a general area in the audience, focusing on an older woman in the crowd. Makes a general statement about her mother passing, but this can be assumed given her age. Woman validates his statement. On the contrary, if the women did not validate his statement, he would simply say he wasn't pointing at her in the first place and looks for women in her general vicinity that may have reacted to his statement via body language.
2. General statement one- "This was a woman who had suffered here in the physical world before passing." This can be applied to many people that pass away, but it can also be interpreted that they had some other kind of suffering in their lives, not even necessarily related to their death.
3. General statement number two- "She showed me that she couldn't breath before she passed." Once again, a very common thing before someone passes. "Mediums" will generally use a few key phrases like this which are high probability guesses/statements and rely on validation/body language cues before doubling down.
There were no key details given, and the rest was pure showmanship and confidence.

That’s so bogus, a lady who’s old enough that there’s a good chance her mother has passed away. She obviously had trouble breathing so would any other person who’s dying. The drowning part didn’t land. She told him that she was in the emergency room with her and he made it up, that her mother told him that she wants to thank her daughter for staying by her side. Using people’s feeling and profiting on their emotions, it’s so messed up.

As a spiritual medium myself. I can say anyone can be a medium themselves. With time and a lot of patients it's a possibilities. If you were to blind fold yourselves and sit in a room. Just sit there and feel the room around. Don't focus on anything, don't need to think about anything just feel. Do this for about 30 or an hour a day. And start at night. If you have any spiritual question I'll do my best to answer them at Quora.

BREAKDOWN OF CONMANS TRICK
So here are some facts:
1. Picks out middle age lady and asks if her mom has departed.
Considering the age of lady, her mother is probably dead
My guess: incase that lady said her mother had not departed, he would have moved to someone else and asked "oh so has your mother departed" , and probably got someone in few chances. And would have claimed "ohh she is standing right there" and this case would have looked good aswell
2. Him saying "she is saying thats my daughter"
Well if her mother had departed, then the lady is definately the daughter.
Using facts known by everyone and he uses it as filler to make it seem like he said a lot of right things while also subconsciously gaining their trust in him as he said something that is true.
3. "Saying "this was a woman who had suffered before her passing here"
Anyone who's loved one had died would say their loved one suffered before dying. Probably speaking isn't suffering a part of dying, in almost all cases from heart attack to car accident to coma, one could agree the patient suffered before dying.
4. "She said couldn't breath"
Again, the stopping of respiratory system is a part and parcel of dying in all cases.
After this the victim ( the lady whose mother had passed ) reveals:
a) mom had heart attack
b) she was in Emergency Room with her mother
c) mom was 62 yrs old
5. " She says she wants to thankyou for keeping a promise, she says you were with her the whole night."
Well the young lady just said that she was in the Emergency Room with her mother.
Conclusion:
Great con-artist, to pull this of learn to elaborate and specify very obvious and known things and be a good listner, also repeat what the victim said back to them, just differently phrased. Using generic statments also work (eg. If he had said " she says thankyou for all you have done")
All in all, cool trick, gives people closure and earns people money

Matt Fraser that didn't prove anything. Your just as fake as any other declared psychic. Just because you made a random guess and spouted out a bunch of vague shit doesn't mean you actually know anything. You simply created a situation that would allow for information to be filled in by her, which you couldn't have known before. My Dad knew what I was doing that week in the house, he gave specific music I was playing in the house.. He knew about an issue I was having w/my brother just recently where we weren't speaking.. As someone who's been to a medium before, i can 100% confirm that they are real. At least the majority of them are. Some are scams, i agree but there are really good authentic ones too
Take me for example. I was so skeptical back then, i never believed in any of those things at all but then i went to a medium and he told me a lot of things that really deeply shocked me. Things that there's no way he could've known. Things i never even told anybody...This was when i actually believed in it.
Some things may seem like they can't be real but they are. Not everything needs a valid explanation. Some things should just remain unexplained :)
