- The Dark Knight Strikes Again is Frank Miller's 2001 sequel to the legendary Dark Knight Returns, from DC Comics. With Batman underground and Lex Luthor rising to power, Gotham is a mess... and that's mostly just because of what Frank Miller and Lynn Varley did with this book.
It's one of the biggest disappointments in comic history, but nearly 25 years after its release, is it still that bad?

I read it at a time when I thought Frank Miller could do no wrong. Then I thought I just didn't get it and it must be over my head. I had no idea what was going on. I might give it another chance now that I'm much older.
It’s only 3 issues. At least it’s not a 12 issue series. Can you imagine??? 😊
Never read this but it looks like Miller was trying a different art style he likes to shoot from half court & like in basketball you usually miss that shot but wen it lands we are all amazed
All Star Batman and robin the boy wonder is also terrible, and with a terrible name
The Jim Lee art is the redeeming part of the book

I just ordered the dark knight 3 master race because I saw an overview on it and it actually intrigued me... I hope I don't have to read DK2 in order to understand DK3
It gets better on the re read. I felt robbed when I bought the individual issues, but enjoy reading it more than the original when reading the absolute.

Worst comic belongs to Frank Miller, Superman year one
Na worst comic is the latest punisher series. Made by a writer who hates frank castle and his fans and couldn’t even be original in how they ruined him. Lazy incompetent and boring.
I’d say crossed also deserves a mention as well as Chris Chans comic.
Lately spiderman isn't doing too well either.
@@RomanvonUngernSternbergnrmfvus punisher is one of those comics that pretty EASY to get right. Even after he kills the mafiosos for killing his wife and kids, he can become a Hitman as a way to earn money. Killing those that “deserve to die,” like DEXTER does.

Ok, so have you seen the animated adaptation of DKR? It's amazing. But I was thinking, they do all these adaptations of great stories, why not terrible ones? Hear me out, but redoing a bad story like this, but in a new medium with a new perspective, could completely change it into something actually good. I think there's a semblance of a good story in here. It'd be interesting to see if someone could tell it.
DKR should never have been continued. Strikes again is just insane and awful in my opinion. I was shocked by the constant weird sexual stuff with Carrie (whos 16), the nausiating art, and the audacity to do what it did to Dick Grayson. I think its an irredeemable piece of shit frankly.

Commenting at the start, but this is one of 2 comics to make me gag and almost throw up trying to read it. The art is so atrociously bad that it gave me that reaction. The only other book to do that is marvel zombies, but that’s cause of the writing from Marvel Zombies series 3-5

@@mileswoolaway2138is it as bad as that Wolverine cover he did with Logan’s chest hairs and all?? It’s sad. I am sad for Mr. Miller. He should perhaps create something out of thin air and work with IMAGE. The DC/MARVEL properties have such an airtight image that it’s almost impossible to do anything to tarnish that 😊

The day I took a deep dive in this comic and the story behind it was awful. I already had a pretty bad mood and seeing these acid trip nightmare fuel arts and the most over the place story...yeah it didn't help
shame the story is a trainwreck in my opinion.
i can actually answer that, no it isn't, frank millers OTHER work "All star batman and robin: Boy wonder" is. It's way worse and gets batman wrong in every single conceivable way possible, if you think tdksa is bad then you haven't seen anything yet

I love this book it’s just whacked out fun lol. And I unironically love the art, I think this book is a must read!
It's bad, yeah, but better than Tom King and Chip Zdarsky.
