Thanks to you @Bikers Brew, i have bought myself W702B. Not regret it since my phone is already 6.85inch in size. I have managed to control the tft and the audio through my cardo (before w702b purchase), and with android auto, i use BT mode, so the audio is always force to cardo. My guest, if someone have it, he could combine it with WunderLINQ device.
@@BikersBrew Youre welcome brother, I actually have the 502 in my basket on Amazon right now at £199.99 plus theres a discount of £40 available on it till the end of May making it £159.99 so a bargain I think. However, I'm gonna hold up buying just in case my luck changes ;)
Thanks for the video. Subscribed. The 502 and 702 are on my radar, and like you I'm trying to decide which might be the better option. Riders like you who take the time to create this content is incredibly helpful. Thanks also for the opportunity to possibly win this 502. Cheers
thanks for comment, means a lot, take away the BS, say it like it is, thats what we have promised to do on here, we may not be amazing video producers, but we have a story to tell and our goal is the trust of our subscribers, simple. Cheers
Hey David, thanks for the comment, much appreciated, yes I know maps are great, but I only use them when out hiking these days but on the bike, I use my MRA app which is just amazing, but each to their own. Cheers
Thanks for the comparison, very useful, since many like me want one of these, but don't know the best size! Me, now I see this, I decide, I will go with the W502B, lovely size for my eyes and good looking on the bike! :)
Just a great unit all rounder, and on most bikes the 502 probably suits better, but the 702 prob better for those that use glasses as its just that bit clearer when riding. cheers for the comment.
Fantastic review as always guys very informative for your viewers giving information on the products. Plus i love the slight comedy value you guys give to the reviews. In it to win it fingers crossed
Subscribed. You guys are a hoot! I have the Nav 6 mounted on my 23' GS and its constantly freezing up and I'm bout done with it. I've got old eyes so I think I'll go with the w702b model. Thanks for the great review.
Cheers for that TB, and yeah my '23 GS suits it, theres plenty of room on the nav cross bar and as a 6' bloke it doesnt interfere with my view of the road ahead.
My 2 cents. Carpuride can’t be beaten on price. Chinese is nice but it has more functionality. If you need it fine. If not waste of money. And Chinese is non removable
Thanks for the review. One thing I wonder though, does the size of the 702B mounted in the NAV cradle interfere with the visibility of the tft? If so, the 502 would definitely be the choice for me
Hi Daniel, on the GS it does not interfere with the bikes TFT in anyway, on other bikes that could be a different story, but yes the 502 is considerably smaller and on some bikes could very well be a better fit.
Great video, thanks for sharing. Before the last section my guess was that you would go with the 5 inch screen. I'd be very happy to give it a good home!
I like the idea of this. I have a 2022 BMW r1250r, where the navigation preparation is in the centre of the handle bars. The W702b might be too big and hit any tank bag so I think this the W502B will sit more neatly. The BMW Connected ride navigation is only 5.5 inches so I think this would be a nice compromise.
Cheers Motorbike Dude, its comments like that which make it a pleasure to do the channel, pls subscribe and share as it will help us grow our audience and get more free stuff to share with you all, no nonsense reviews and giveaways is what we always wanted to do., cheers !
@@BikersBrew you welcome . How did you get this company’s send you their products to review ? I have tried few in the past but they were not interested ,they only looking for the “big boys” of you tube .😂 D
Yes you can update the firmware, it's very straight forward but you have to ask them for the new firmware. HAving said that I bricked two units trying to upgrade the firmware as they sent me the wrong file! I needed the version that means you can leave your phone paired with the Carpuride. 3rd time lucky for me 🤞
Are you relying on your phone signal though? If so what happens when your touring and are in a location without a signal, can you still use the maps like on a dedicated sat nav?
Hi Robin, no not relying on phone signal as there was a big change with Google maps earlier in the year whereby you can now download maps from google to work off line, but for me personally I use MRA (My Route App) for all my planning and navigation which also has detailed offline map download and the whole of the UK is only 1.8gb, and it works flawlessly. hope that helps.
Hey there hope I am not to late for the competition to win the W502B I have enjoyed watching your video thanks for the feedback definitely looking at getting one for my R1200RS holding thumbs for the win!
Hi Peter, use this link bit.ly/502BMW and you will get the version with the BMW bracket plus a special discounted price, then add the code BIKERSBREW at checkout for a further discount. cheers
Hey Mike, it does depend on the gloves used, but those with the special panels in the finger tips for screens work flawlessly, even tested them in the rain and still spot on.
@@BikersBrew Funny…I have a W502B and mine will only work with naked fingers. I guess it technically works with my touch sensitive gloves, but it’s near 80% failure rate for gloves that work perfectly with my phone. Maybe I got a dud.
I own the same device. I prefer the smaller W502, because I want to drive and enjoy my bike. The bigger W702 is ok, if you want to stream Netflix on a very boring higway trip. But one remark for the brewer... ... it would be a good idea to upgrade your video and audio equipment. The sound is bad and color calibration does not seem to function correctly.
Thanks Lindsay, like many others have said, we have little time for distractions on a bike, but navigation is paramount for exploring new rides and thats the main use for me and whilst I use a dedicated bike nav app for my trips and adventures, for everyday riding you cant be Google maps on a 5 or 7 inch screen. 👍
thanks so much for the support, and means a lot to us. As I have said previously, this channel is more about looking after our fellow bikers, no BS just what we really think, and it seems its doing us ok. good luck in the draw.
Great video comparison between the 502 and 702 .... like you totally undecided and obv dont have the benefit of having both to try! Not sure if the draw has already taken place but would love to win the 502B and the decision would then be made for me :)
Sorry CJ, yeah the draw was done a while ago, but please do consider the Carpurides as they are great, if you want an alternative then please checkout our other video for the brand new Chigee AIO5-PLAY, as its similar to the previous version but cheaper and without the front and rear cameras and on the new version there is a builtin GPS module.
100% agree Kenny, any bike with some form of TFT screen should have carplay/android auto builtin these days, its been on cars for years and as the required tech has massively improved and got a lot smaller I cant see the issue either.
Was thinking about this or the chigee unit. The chigee has the cameras front and rear, but not the BMW mount capability…..I’m still on the fence 🤔…. Good review…thanks for that…
Nice one Andy, as I have said all along, Google and apple update their maps daily and theres no charge, I got fed up of having to update maps on Garmin and tom tom apps, plus with the google map apps etc you get realtime traffic updates, which is important to many folks especially commuters, daily riders etc. On sunday I used mine on a very seldom used fairly unknown single track road up in the Dales and google was bang on, also you can now download maps to your device with google to give you offline capability. Cheers for the comments fella, much appreciated.
Hi, yeah I was thinking the same, but as I said in the latest video, I have decided to stick with the 702 as I find it hard to tap buttons on the smaller screen, although I do agree the 502 is a better size as far as aesthetics. 👍
Hi Patrick, its great, the screen is very bright when set to full, but there is no auto brightness, but fully readable in direct sunlight.. Hope that helps.
hmmmmm, agree there Nick, the 7 is ok on bikes with lots of space behind the screen, but I am now running a 5 inch as its not as intrusive in the dash area.
