    I forgot to mention, the cars DO share power pickup, so in total for the two cars, there are 8 pickups, 4 per truck. Lighting is flicker free!
    Another thing, the lighting takes up a lot of power. My basic NCE powercab will glitch out when all these are on the track, cause it cant power up all the capacitors at once. I have a work around, but just so you're aware.

    Minor Correction: the other set BLI did is for a 1953-era train. That would've been pulled by diesels, while the '41 train would have a GS on the point.
    One thing notable about that particular year - 1953 was the last year of the full-width diaphragms.

      yea I'll admit I dont model the SP, so I dont know much about the history of these cars, I just know what versions BLI produced. Thanks for watching!

    Thanks for your video on these cars. I just bought a set and as you've noted, the car came apart during unpacking! Your tutorial on reattaching the cars was perfect and now mine are together.

    I have 4 of these BLI articulated chair cars for my Coast Daylight and they are very great passenger cars. But they are a pain in the butt to put back together if they accidentally come apart.

      yea lol its annoying when they come apart, I feel like im breaking the trucks when i pull them out to reconnect the cars. Fortunantely if you just leave the cars on the layout they dont tend to come apart on their own in my experience.

    I have a few of these and the safest and easiest way to get them out of the box is to carefully turn the styrofoam case upside down and allow the cars to gently come out. Another way is to get a long piece of cardboard, place it on top of the styrofoam case and again, turn the case upside down then once turned over, remove the foam case off of the cars which will leave them on the cardboard making it easy to pick them up. I highly recommend this for the 3 car sets.

      Covevt - I’m pretty sure Niles Canyon is the only rail line with a surviving chair car, and that one is smooth sided in simulated stainless steel. There are currently no plastic manufacturers creating smooth sided chair cars. Hope I could help.

      Hi, glad you enjoyed!
      Based on the exploded diagrams found here: www.broadway-limited2.com/support/Daylight%20G%20(antenna)%20Expl%20View.pdf
      I believe you remove the 4 screws located near or at the couplers, as they seem to connect to the shell of the car.

    Very nice cars. BLI seem to halfass quality control.

      Their customer support is amazing, but yes I agree their quality control is meh. I've heard many others having issues with their Paragon 3 sound decoders too. Good thing I mostly only got their amazing Paragon 2 stuff! Thanks for watching!

    It seems the absolute minimum radius for these is 22. Don't think they could handle 21 in radius. If it wasn't for that I'd pick some up

    • @trainman440
      @trainman440  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean, my mainline has a section that's 19" radius and it goes through there fine...so I think you're okay. Cheers!
