  • I show how I remove a CV axle out of the right side of a Toyota Sienna. This procedure applies to most Toyota vehicles from the 1990s till 2010s. Check your service manual and be safe

    THANK YOU FOR DOING A GREAT JOB. YOU HAVE ALL THE RIGHT TOOLS AND THE VAN PROPERLY LIFTED AND BLOCKED. THERE WAS NO NEED FOR TALKING LIKE SOME PEOPLE DO. THAT IS THE BEST PART OF THE VIDEO ASIDE FROM SHOWING ME HOW TO DO IT.

    Thanks a ton for posting the video - great job showing us how to do it. Really appreciate your time! Only question I have is how much, if any, transmission fluid came out when you removed the axle? Did you have to refill, and if so, how did you know how much? That's one of the main things keeping me from doing my own since the transmission doesn't have a dip-stick for level. Thanks brother!

    • @Usmanthemecano
      @Usmanthemecano  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In my experience it only leaks out when previously overfilled or not properly jacked up. You can put a container underneath and catch potential fluid leak then measure and fill same amount after swap

    So I replace the axle and the issue I’m having now is I cannot get the ball joint to line up with the holes in control arm it seems that the axle is not letting the knuckle get close enough far not allowing me to push all the way in to control arm

    • @mosheweisz1087
      @mosheweisz1087 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe it’s because I also replaced the control arm and it’s too stiff not letting me push down enough

    • @Usmanthemecano
      @Usmanthemecano  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Be sure the axle didn't pop out of socket. You should be able to push the entire knuckle assembly in to line up the ball joint studs

      @@Usmanthemecano I know but for some odd reason it’s not going to brand new axle and new control arm it looks like the actual hangs a lot longer than the one in your video

    What is the size of axle socket for Toyota Sienna LE 2011 is it? 32mm?? And how about control arm? I have a hard time all the screw nut bolt are too tight that is how I cannot remove that require special heavy wrench torque to try unscrewed all bolts.

      Torch and a breaker bar for more leverage if this helps 2 months later

      Good video to show the process. Living in the rust belt I had the same issue. Had to cut the axle with grinder / sawzall on each side of the carrier bearing bracket plus once more near the tranny to get access and then press out the old bearing with a hydraulic press.

      You've got that right. I spent hours getting mine out. I replaced the carrier so i didn't have to worry about banging the bearing out. Even getting the carrier out while the axle is in it was tough. There's nothing easy about this job.

    • @seancalleja1
      @seancalleja1 ปีที่แล้ว

      This video is EXTREMELY deceiving. To get that axle out while on your back is a MAN-MAKER! You will be fighting that carrier for hours. I honestly may need stitches in my face from the pry bar slipping. I’m taking a break now because it is whooping me. I’m concerned I may need to have it towed. This video gave me false confidence.

    • @Usmanthemecano
      @Usmanthemecano  ปีที่แล้ว

      Just replace the carrier. Remove the three bolts that hold the carrier. Pry it off the engine GENTLY and either replace it or hammer it off

      Dude! That’s exactly what I did this morning!!! Worked like a charm.

      Try the Air Hammer Vibration technique. When vibration is applied to the bearing carrier, the rust is destroyed, and the bearing-axle assembly actually 'walks' out of its hole. See cv joint Sienna 2015 YT video. The technique is recorded there. It takes about 60-seconds of vibration to get it out of its hole. (!) Your jaw will drop.
