Are you thinking of learning to fly? Are you involved in flight training? Private Pilot Course online (free preview): bit.ly/367Yp4F Rod Machado’s 40-Hour Private Pilot eLearning Ground School: tinyurl.com/y285oplk
Thanks for the Video! Apologies for the intrusion, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you ever tried - Rozardner Flying Bird Reality (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a great exclusive product for how to get pilot license without the normal expense. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my old buddy Taylor got astronomical success with it.
Hi Ben, thanks for the helpful video. Just wondering if it’s possible to ‘convert’ or ‘upgrade’ an LAPL into a PPL further down the road by taking extra tests and a few more flying hours?
Glad you liked it, but the answer is no. If you have a UK LAPL, you can no longer fly to Europe without first obtaining a UK PPL. This is because the UK LAPL is not recognized by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
He there. I’m the holder of a pre JAR brown CAA licence (believe type A rather than SEP but need to look) and am thinking of starting up flying again. Am I correct in my understanding (as I recall) that my licence whilst not current is a lifetime licence and as such I simply need to renew my radiotelephone certificate, obtain medical and then undergo flight training as required before a check ride with an examiner who stamps log and signs licence? I’ll be brushing up on theory obviously but understand I don’t need to retake ground exams either?
Hi mate, I’ve had training for a PPL, and I’ve gone for my first solo (I’ve got roughly 10 hours). I’ve got a class 2 medical but with a VCL limitation due to my colour perception status. I was just wondering if the hours towards getting my PPL also go towards getting an LAPL? I think an LAPL would be better suited for what I want to do, especially since I’m unable to pursue flying in any professional capacity, but if my PPL hours don’t go towards an LAPL for any reason, I may as well stick with it. Cheers and all the best.
Yes, any flying you've done in the UK with a qualified Flying Instructor will count towards your LAPL syllabus, but always check with your flying school for confirmation.
Hi Ben, my most local club can train nppl (m), I've contact CAA via email and awaiting a reply a couple of days now. I'm curious to know can any time or certifiable experience be transferred from nppl (m) to LAPL
As far as I'm aware yes. Time logged during flight training is valid for any licence. There are of course training exercises specific to each syllabus but if you've logged dual instruction time on exercises that are shared among the licence types then they still count even if you change direction and go for a difference licence to the one for which you started training.
You'll find all the information you need here on the CAA website www.caa.co.uk/Commercial-industry/Pilot-licences/Applications/Jurisdictions/FAA-certificates-for-UK-licences/
Hi can i ask you which are the medical requirements for lapl pilots? And which are the educational requirements too please and what Flight school can i go to get my licenze?
The LAPL is a UK licence, so if you're in the UK please visit your local airfield and chat to an instructor. You can also find out more here: www.caa.co.uk/General-aviation/Pilot-licences/EASA-requirements/LAPL/LAPL-(A)-requirements/
not lot different if you local air group can make course free or normal member of club price 1000-2000$ go learn lapl and then you can upgrade this to ppl later only need some time fly about 5-15 hour and test exam one easy little paper what have all same than before exam has. wery easy upgrade livence new better ppl. and what is important this not go moneu all togethet 7500$ stay all licence wery cheap less than 3000$ and have ppl. first lapl and then ppl. many do this if not have lot money. cheapen than car buy.

Hi Ben, thanks for the helpful video. Just wondering if it’s possible to ‘convert’ or ‘upgrade’ an LAPL into a PPL further down the road by taking extra tests and a few more flying hours?
Thank you. Yes, you can do so. The details are here: www.caa.co.uk/General-aviation/Pilot-licences/EASA-requirements/PPL-SPL-BPL/PPL-(A)-requirements/
When it says 3 passengers is that 3 including pilot or 3 other people and the pilot. So 4 people to a plane.
4 people. A pilot and three passengers.
Ben Lovegrove thanks
Hi Ben. Thank you for your video. It is informative and helpful.
However, I am wondering whether I can fly to Europe with a UK LAPL after Brexit.

Thank you for your reply. Is there any way to get a EASA LAPL without having to train and take the exam again, if I hold a UK LAPL?
Thank u Ben God bless u
You're welcome 🙂

I'm 68 years old. Is there an age cut-off for flying?
@@TheHogibare No, there’s no maximum age, just a medical test

I think that's right but you'll need to confirm with a CFI and/or the CAA. Give the licensing department a call.

Nicely explained 🙏🏻👨🏻✈️🍀🍀
Thank you 😀
Hi Ben
Are the theory lessons identical for PPL(A) and LAPL ?
Do you have to pass the same test for both?

Umm LAPL stands for LOS ANGELES PUBLIC LIBRARY
I believe only in LA itself. Why anyone in Europe bother about any library in the US?
That was pretty confusing and doesn't give a clear overview. 🙄

I liked the video, it was just difficult to get an overview of the differences, when jumping back and forth.
