Definitely read the first books in order!! You could probably still understand some of the basic plot but a lot really won't make sense and it'd be a lot more enjoyable if you read it in order

I got an arc for Ballad of the Beanstalk by Amy McNulty and I even bought my own kindle copy. It was really good Amy and might be up your ally. It's a Jack and the Beanstalk prequel but turns the story on its head. Bisexuality, love, friendship, adventure, magic and more. Highly recommend if you have any free time from your ever growing TBR. :) Also loved the video and I'm a big fantasy girl.
That Nora Roberts book is the first in my favorite trilogy of hers. I read them ages ago and then decided about 7 or 8 years later that I needed to find them again. I can't seem to get enough and am obsessed with WWII books at the moment. My current read is D-Day Through German Eyes Book 2 by Holger Eckhertz. Interviews with men who served on the Normandy coast were taken ten years after the invasion, and it tells their stories of what happened to them and their fellow soldiers on D-Day. It's so fascinating to hear the German viewpoint after reading so many books from the Allied side! Yes, I'm a WWII geek.
I can't express how happy I am that a well known booktuber is reading romance that isn't YA! yes! its so great and it deserves more positive exposure besides the stereotypes and stigma surrounding its readers.
