people seem to forget in civil war when winter soldier threw a sign at him his eyes got big and said "oh no" and dodged. People seem to forget because it was subtle and not in your face like in the older Spider-Man movie's.
Braxton Bynote Also he told Tony his senses overwhelm him that is why his goggles have shutters he tries to block it out. He only had the powers for 6 monthes it takes time to get use to them plus he is still growing. That scene with Winter Soldier is proof that his sense saved his life and he will soon learn to understand depend on it more.
The scene with the reveal of Vulture bein' Liz' Dad made me almost crush my drink from pure fear. And the scene in the Car was truly one of the highlights. God damn Keaton KILLED it.
Computer-Monster I felt the same way when I seen the reveal of Liz's dad. My mind felt like Jody from Baby Boy when he thought he was dead. As soon The reveal part came up the creepy music played in my head. So I can relate to what you're saying.
Man the twist with Liz's dad was awesome. No one saw that coming. In my screening there was a lady a few rows behind me who just let out such a loud gasp when he opened the door. It was brilliant.
I feel like Peter remembering what Tony said was actually proving tony wrong not using him as motivation. Peter used Spider-Man himself as his own motivation. When Peter was saying "im Spider-Man" almost brought me to tears. This moment also helps you understand his decision at the end .
Mehkih G i think what their tryin to say is that they didnt need the voice over, i was thinkin the same thing when i was watchin it. I think peter motivating himself wouldve been enough. As people who watch a bunch of movies they prob get tired of those tropes
I agree!! Tony tried to make him see without his own powers he doesnt deserve the suit. So when he yelled "I'm Spiderman!" Was his way of realizing what he's truly capable of without his suit.
Kind of a shame because I really dug Avengers Tower and would've wanted to see more floors of it, and before that happens "well, because of Ultron and stuff we gotta move and shit." AW, CRAP!
there is a lot to say about diversity in films. I am not well versed on the subject but as a white kid that has lived in Queens all his life I have to say its just accurate. Queens is just very diverse and especially in school at least from my experience
The director has already stated that spider sense exists in this universe, they're just not focusing on it as much as previous versions did. They also mentioned that it would be further explored in sequels.
Flame of Udun But that doesn't mean it should be completely ignored especially when it's Peter's greatest strength that makes him unique to everyone else.
Kevin Rivera They did show it though. They didn't highlight it with slowmo or whatever they've shown it with before, but it was there. Remember that his spidey sense goes off for threats.
This film is pure Spider-Man brought to screen. It's an example of changes to traditional canon done right because it looks at the canon and reinvents it in clever and inspired ways, while still retaining that classic Spider-Man feel. It's reminiscent of not only Ultimate Spider-Man in that way, but I'd argue that it feels a bit more like the Spectacular Spider-Man animated series because that series played around and reinvented the canon, but always retained that classic Spider-Man feel. I loved how they took the essence of Peter's character and made it fit within the world of the MCU. All of the Easter eggs and references perfectly bring life to the film and make it feel like a lived in world. Even Peter's sense of responsibility is told within the lens of the MCU. Peter is a talented and bright kid who is unchallenged and brimming with potential to be more than what he is allowed to be. He needs an outlet and desperately wants to be an important hero, but doesn't understand that he needs to build up to that point, and that causes problems for his life. Peter is an active character and makes mistakes all throughout the film despite his good intentions. That's very much Spider-Man right there. Also, I have to say that the smaller scale of this film has to be one of my best things because everything ties back to that prevailing notion that the big extravaganza of the MCU can overshadow the lives of a simple neighborhood. Both Peter and the Vulture react to experiencing a taste of things that are much bigger than them, and their lives afterward is in response to that experience. Homecoming is the best and my personal favorite Spider-Man film, and my close second favorite Spider-Man adaptation behind The Spectacular Spider-Man Animated Series.
John S I'm also calling it that the Avengers moving out of NY and heading upstate will be subtly mentioned in the Defenders series, and will serve as the reason for Daredevil and the others to work together more often.
That man who yelled out "YEAH SPIDER MAN" then when Iron Man came in to save the ferry that's when he said "YEAH IRON MAN." I was triggered mad lol. We'll probably being seeing more of that guy in other MCU movies and tv shows. Imagine him cheering on Thor vs. Hulk in Ragnorak.
I liked the scene where he was trapped under the building mainly because it was a reminder of how in over is head he was. He reacted like a scared kid would, almost breaking down into tears.
Hey there guys, just wanted to let you know at 15:40 where Sammy mentions the picture, that's actually the late king of Thailand, who is very highly revered and loved by the Thais.
snipergirl21 yknow what? Thank you for pointing this out. People are still really upset about this and I to be honest, I was COMPLETELY ignorant of who that was, nor did I recognize how revered he is. I just want it on the record that I'm sorry for the ill intentioned joke. Like, jokes are fun but I'm not trying to mess with people cultural heroes yknow?
15:39 Sammy talking about the picture being Kim Jong Un in a uniform. Apparently that's Bhumibol Adulyadej, the beloved former King of Thailand, who passed away last year. I'm Indonesian and don't know too much about him but from what I see on social media, Thais see him as a hero. Kind of messed up Sammy comparing him to Kim Jong Un and calling it "a weird ass place" for having his picture up there, when it totally makes sense since they were in a Thai restaurant in the movie.
Thomas Vincent V. V disrespectful of him to insult the Thai king like that. Ur right, he was deeply revered and loved by the Thai people...To hear Sammy ridicule him like that was not cool
Ziggy Zag he doesn't have to do shit LOL he doesn't know anything about that guy so who gives a shit. stop being sensitive everybody gets made fun of some people get offended and some people don't deal with it.
The HS is in New York City, I would have major problems with having a majority white HS in the middle of NYC. If you have visited NYC, you can stand on a crowded corner and everyone around you are speaking different languages. NYC is multinational and the school needed to be reflected as such.
I don't get why people hate Michelle for having the initials M.J, so one other character in Spider-Man's world has those initials not big deal, but do you know how characters superman has with initials L.L over 23 characters have those initials.
DeltaPrime350 it is forced. It doesn't feel organic. They are doing the ugly duckling into a swan cliche with her but that is not the way Mary Jane should be. When Mary Jane says in the comics "You hit the jackpot" You feel it. Zendaya looks hot when she wants to but her character is the ugly duckling cliche. Also it is not like there are no young white red heads that can play Mary Jane. The red head from Ouija, Annalise Basso, is a great actress. She is perfect for the role and age appropriate for Tom Holland to fall for her. Zendaya is an actress from a Disney show, JC undercover. Therefore it is a cheap way to pick someone. The same crap with putting Miley Cyrus as a future marvel character. Why her? She is a terrible actress. Disney says so that is why.
Someone pointed it out to me that the second Stark suit in the movie that Peter turned down is not the Iron Spider suit but the suit Ben Reilly used when he became the second Spider-Man when Peter stepped down. Blew my mind and couldn't believe I didnt catch it.
i always liked the times in the comics where Flash and Peter are actually best friends after high-school. It broke that stereotype of "once a bully, always a bully". People change. They mature. Usually they don't...but sometimes they do, and that fact is not often represented with "bully" archetype.
Filipinos aren't stereotyped as "techy", plus the stereotype is asians are good at math and indians are the stereotype "techy". There's no stereotype of asians loving chess. What did the "asian kid in the bathroom" have to do with him being asian and how was he the butt of a joke... the joke was happy and peter were very weird and it was awkward because of them, not he asian kid... man yall need to stop talking about the asian issues.
man id complain over asian folks getting the short end of the stick in these movies but coddamn as a filipino it was soooo refreshing to see a filipino kid in a marvel movie like YES THATS MY KABABAYAN RIGHT THERE
I actually liked the part of the building on him. It really worked for me, because it was straight out of the comics, and more importantly it showed off how strong Spider-Man is. The dude can lift 10 tons and finally the movies are demonstrating it. I think Tom's acting was great, in the scene. He made me feel seriously claustrophobic, and it reminded me that he was a kid again.
finally someone points this out. it like no one else can have the MJ initials. though i know in real life there are people who shares names that from other people. makes the world feel more real in my opinion
I fucking loved the film. I've been a spidey fan my whole life, I own the 60s, 90s, and spectacular cartoons, as well as every live action film. The diversity didn't bother me and I like that they start in high school because it gives him time to go through every stage of being spiderman from the comics.
Fuck, that Green Goblin mask is amazing. Right now I really wish they'd gone with it, although I also know it WOULD have given me nightmares as a 7 year old in 2002.
Dan Brennan I know what you mean. If I would have seen that mask in the Raimi's Spider-Man, I would have shitted myself and probably cryed at the sight of it. Now I'm like "Shit that is fucking scary...Can we see more?"
Yea since this a spoiler talk. I'll be honest while this is a High Full Price movie the only issues I had were - Shocker not fully getting his suit and there was some BTS photos of the shocker suit I wouldve loved to see in the film - His spider-sense, I know he said in Civil War he didnt know how to react to it fully but still I wouldve liked some lil mention of it. and of course the whole MJ thing. I think Zendaya was phenomenal in the film as her own character Michelle but retconning her as the new MJ im kinda iffy on. It wasnt like that Robin BS at the end of Dark Knight Rises but still I just liked Michelle as her own self and then maybe MJ or Gwen couldve come in later. I saw the movie again yesterday and realized that blonde girl in peters class wasnt Gwen but Betty Brant so that was funny to me. But like they always say Mutliverse theory so I cant be upset on it lol also CONGRATZ K COOLMAN on your wedding
JaxBlade Yeah, man. I loved Zendaya's character but the reveal of her being "MJ" felt more like a middle finger to the people who were hating before when they heard rumors of her being Mary Jane instead of a properly built up surprise. I mean, she's nothing like the comic counterpart and the reveal does more to set up expectations for her that just takes away from the original character of Mitchell more so than addicting to it.
JaxBlade I think shocker will come back with a costume once he is fully equipped with his skills. All of the characters including spiderman were discovering there powers in this movie
Maybe the Vulture doesn't want to give out Spiderman's identity, cuz Peter is close to his daughter, and could potentially put his daughter in danger if everyone knew who Spiderman is.
The way Spiderman Faceplants into the pavement after the Karen the suites A.I changes the way he uses his webbing was freaken hilarious. one solid "SPLAT!" then he quickly gets up dazed out trying to figure what the heck happen. the movie was more of a Super Hero Comedy than a Super Hero Action movie.
My only nitpick is the lack of spider sense and not a lot of high up web slinging between buildings. Other then that this was a great summer flick and Keaton was great as the villain
When Korey was talking about the green goblin at the end, I was thinking, since the suit Ironman wore was based on the ultimate Ironman comic, and since Miles might be in this universe due to Donald Glovers character the prowler, i hope they put the ultimate green goblin, were he was actually a monster who shoots fire
I actually like what they did with 'MJ'. I'm looking forward to when they're seniors or in college :) I also agree with Martin on the twist when Vulture opened the door :D I was like SHIT HE KNOWS!
I liked the Michelle character but found the MJ thing just weird since she's nothing like Mary Jane. Judging by Feige's statements I think they originally did it as a small homage but after the leak it went way out of control. They probably also underestimated how attached the Mary Jane fanbase is... lots of comic book fans are still pissed their marriage was erased.
The official word from Kevin Feige this week is that she's an original character that just happens to share the nickname because they thought it would be interesting. I don't know if controversy is good for box office or not, but I wish they just skipped that line and saved everyone the trouble.
Only thing I didn't like was the Shocker. My favorite part is when he says "Cmon peter... Cmon spider man! Tough to see a kid crying like that but then rise up. We see it a lot in comic book movies but it's different when he's so young.
The people who hate this movie are people who were never satisfied. You could make the movie as good as you can. The people who hate this film will go out of their way to find something to bitch about.
"Let this be my destiny" is the story line where Peter lifts something he thought was impossible. It's a call to exactly how strong Spidy is - until that point his strength was never pushed to the limit. He would lose fights (and he lost a lot of them), rather than face something difficult. When he was trapped, he couldn't run away, he had to face the challenge. I think the movie really pulled it off. On that note, Tony Stark's voice wasn't ringing inside Peter's head. He had to dig down at first his strength as Peter - to think his way out and then he turned to SpiderMan's power, something until then he never really tapped into. I think the movie gave us comic book fans exactly what we wanted. Aunt May has always known that Peter is Spiderman. Before the death of Uncle Ben, she knew. It's like those parents that know their child is gay, but they want the kid to talk about it. It's the same with Peter having super powers. She knows, but she wants Peter to talk about it.
to defend the Michelle Jones as MJ - first she is not Mary Jane Watson. But she is going to be one of Peter's great loves. She might die and when he meets Mary Jane, he calls her MJ because Michelle is his heart he starts calling Mary Jane MJ as his way to honor Michelle.
The thing i love about it that really captured that aspect of the comics where on many occasions he is bored about to call it a night and then boom something happens which leads him to investigate and get dragged into a bigger plot. The other movies mostly just had peter change to spidey because something was happening. "Doc ock attacking!.. better change to spidey". Was never really much moments seen where he was just swinging around looking for something to do.
LOL! First scene of Spiderman 2: Argument with Aunt May,.............shown as a flashback while he's stressed out talking to his friends about it, and then he takes a hit from a joint...............and activates his spidey sense
I loved Michelle in this film. They did such a good job with giving her depth despite her little screen time. Everything from certain shots to the books that she reads add more to her character, and there are lot of little moments like that for her character. I'm with Martin in that I don't think it's a problem to reveal her initials as MJ at the end. It doesn't come off as bad writing, but rather writing you didn't like. There's a difference between the two. The moment doesn't take anything away from the scene. It just makes some fans angry because they feel unnecessarily teased by Marvel. It's a taste thing not really a quality thing.
sebastian galoria I loved how she's a character that pretends that she doesn't care at all, but underneath her cold exterior, she cares a lot more than she lets on. She's always around Peter, and she plays it off like she doesn't care, but every time Peter leaves the camera cuts back to her reaction, which provides context for her flipping Peter off at the Homecoming dance. The camera even cuts back to her when he leaves, and the same thing happens when she says "I'm just kidding, I don't care. Bye." She has a look where the mask comes off and she looks vulnerable, and does actually care. Not to mention that her choice of reading says a lot about the character. She's reading "Of Human Bondage" in gym class, which is a very dense and intense book from what I know, and you can see her doing her own sit-ups by just pushing the book up and continuing to read it. Little moments like that went a long way for me to get a sense of this character. I got the feeling that she was a very damaged and reserved character that used sarcasm and cynicism to mask her real feelings. In a way she has the same internal conflict of Mary-Jane, but has a different external characterization.
I have to disagree on the initials thing. Why do that cause now she's going to be compared to that character and it creates expectations. Would you say the same if Ned was suddenly like, "Oh my real name is Miles though."? Like it is so wishy-washy. Not to mention it didn't even add anything to the story. All it did was hurt a character that most people were fine with. I may not like when they change races of characters, but if they would have at least committed I could see how it went, I could have still liked it. Or they could have just made Michelle her own character that Peter falls in love with I wouldn't have cared then either. But this wishy-washy mess is just bad because it puts the character in a bad spot and for basically no reason it seems other then to troll fans who were mad Zendaya got the MJ role.
ReyIvory IV I don't think it matters. If the only problem is that fans feel that naming her MJ hurts the character because of another character called MJ, then that's more to do with audience expectations and being very attached to other characters. I'm used to drastic changes to characters and reinventions. This barely even registers as a blip on the radar.
It's not the only problem. Because one I trust you to know that they didn't just give her those initials as a throwaway, the goal was to imply she was Mary Jane in a non-committal way. Now, if they get major backlash, they can simply claim, "Oh they're just initials she isn't really MJ" and don't have to back up their decision. Second, now people are going to say things like she doesn't act like Mary Jane if she appears in later movies. She can't exist as her own character now because they couldn't just let her be Michelle. And before you say that it is fans fault for even wanting the series to stay true to the old MJ, why have the source material if you aren't going to stay true to it or at least respect it by only changing minor things about the character that aren't noticeable? Why keep Peter Parker a white straight male? Why let him live with his aunt in New York? Why give him the spider suit with the classic red and blue? Also, saying that fans are at fault for having expectations is crazy to me. If I told you I was making a batman film and told you Robin was in it, would you be mad at me if all of a sudden Clark Kent came in wearing the robin suit saying "call me Dick Grayson, it was my stage name while I was in the circus"? Would you be here claiming that it's fans fault for expecting Dick Grayson, or Jason Todd or even Carrie Kelley once they were told Robin was there? Characters carry expectations because people came to love them for a reason. Once you start changing everything about them you are ruining the character people loved to begin, regardless of whether you make a good one or not. It's like saying "You were wrong to like this or that about the character and it needs to be changed".
Movies are 50% video and 50% audio. Although I really enjoyed the new Homecoming movie, there is no clear theme or music score throughout the film making it easily forgettable. Yet, when I stop to think about Spiderman, the incredible score from Danny Elfman embedded the emotion and heart of Spiderman making it powerful and memorable back in 2004.
I freaking love this movie. It is mainly a tie with Spider-Man 2 for me or it slightly surpasses it, by a little. But if I have to pick only one. I'm going to go with Spider-Man Homecoming. My reasons why is because it's connected to the MCU and Tom Holland (who actually looks like a kid) is the best portrayal yet of Spider-Man/Peter Parker. I also like how they don't show Peter getting the spider powers or seeing Uncle Ben dying again. It all already took place before Civil War. This new Aunt May (Bae) is realistic enough to have. The complaints about her are ridiculous. The Vulture is a badass and unique villain in the MCU. I can go on and on about what I loved about Homecoming but i'm going to stop myself now.
I'm with Martin on the MJ thing. I don't think we need to be spoon fed her background. Giving her a definitive back story doesn't improve the movie in anyway. There's just a small percentage of fanboys that get rattled.
When I first saw it, I couldn't finish the video, b/c that sh*t was terrifying! I'm kinda glad they went with the Power Ranger mask. Otherwise, that thing would've haunted my nightmares for months when I was a kid.
I feel like There is a greater a part for Spider-Man to play in MCU. We have to wait like we did when iron man first came out. But a great first movie with Easter eggs begging for more.
As an uber Spider-Man nerd, I absolutely hated the fact that Iron Man supplies the suit in this movie. What I love about Peter is his intelligence and creativity. That and the spider-sense nonsense were my only gripes. I enjoyed the characters, the story and the action for most of it. I'm gonna be a fucking nerd if I want to, Korey!
About the Spidey-Sense: - I understood that the best thing about the film is that it showed me it's there, doing its thing to keep Spidey alive and safe. I didn't need hand-holding, beyond that. About Aunt May figuring it out: - She's not an idiot, nor in denial about it. This could mean Spidey may have a support structure in and out of the costume. That's a positive message to kids. There ARE such things as adults who CAN understand and support you for you. The whole trope of "adults just don't understand" is the real B.S. About Toomes having limited screen time: - Too much of a good thing is also bad. Keaton was just right. About post-credit scenes: - People at Marvel are starting to think THIS is part of their brand, so they "gotta have a treat for later." NO. You're painting yourself in the corner. About MJ: - It's been established nearly 10 years ago that the MCU is its own separate continuity, based on the comics in new ways (some from the Ultimate universe, some from the mainstream continuity). I accepted that, and dropped that point years ago. MJ can look however they want her to look now, as long as she can still make Parker FEEL like he won the jackpot later. It's worth waiting for, however way the MCU does it. About the race-swapping for the secondary characters: - Why not? About the Prowler & Miles Morales in future films: - Why not? If (stupid) executives want to take Parker away, the fans may still have a Spider-Man on film. About the Avengers leaving NYC: - That's fine. We needed room for The Defenders to run NYC, anyway. Spidey was never much of a "joiner" in the first place; Spidey is clutch and that's it. The Avengers are not the best at saving the world, until they can get over themselves. JUST like in the comics.
I actually liked the MJ tease. I don't think it was bad writing. It's not that big a deal. I think they wanted to do something different with Mary Jane as a character and they wanted the fans to like her first before plugging her true identity. Sure hardcore fans are going to complain but who cares. Marvel is doing something different with the character that we don't expect. They are taking a risk and I like that
Vulture surprisingly hands down is my fav villain he's more than Doc oc from other movie could ever be! Hes more relatable which makes a good villain when u can relate to his situations and the simple fact that he is human but still menacing. Its just like how we all luv Batman for the simple fact he does what he does but is still human.
43:50 - Holly Fuckin Shit ! I had NO IDEA they went That way for the 1st Spidey Movie ! Thats a much better look for the Goblin then the Armor Suit ! And NOW that the Glider Goblin has been done to death , if they bring him back, then its gonna have to be the ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN Goblin (the mutant freak) !
It's crazy how everything they talk about they have a clip for, like Sony just basically released the whole thing online in trailers and tv spots. Whoever is in charge of marketing there needs to be fired. And this movie overshot expectations opening weekend-wise. People thought it'd do way worse
The reason why they had that stinger is because that guy is The Scorpion and he's gonna be the villain later on. He's gonna go after Spider-Man when he gets out in his custom made Chitauri scorpion suit but Vulture didn't rate him out even though he could have so he'll be going after him without knowing who he is.
I'm with you, Martin. I got the impression that maybe he'd already figured out Peter's identity and he was just going to be waiting for him. When things turned out to be normal is when things got incredibly tense for me. Great scene.
The 'spider sense' only happens in the beginning of the origin movies, then conveniently goes away for the showdowns... it's just put in there because fans would cry if it weren't. I'm glad they didn't even bother with it in this one.
When it was revealed that the Vulture was Liz's dad I was like WTF? Also I thought this was a great Spidy movie but people want to bitch about the stupiest things they got nothing else better to do with their lives. Peter started out in high school going through everything. People that are starting to get sick of seeing Spiderman they're going to get sick of seeing the Avengers, Captain America, Thor but Hollywood will keep spiting out those movies. I want to see Felicia Hardy aka The Black Cat in one more Spidey movie. Tom Holland was the best Peter Parker/Spiderman he captured the essance & spirit of the wall crawler.
I like how the Vulture was a real vulture, essentially collecting the scraps and feeding his family from The Avengers roadkill
Anotha Black Experience wow lol
Anotha Black Experience 💯💯
Anotha Black Experience DANG, that's crazy analysis....
Never thought of that. Kudos
Thats a good one
people seem to forget in civil war when winter soldier threw a sign at him his eyes got big and said "oh no" and dodged. People seem to forget because it was subtle and not in your face like in the older Spider-Man movie's.

Also right before Ant man attacked him when he was holding cap's shield.

I was like... "oh sheeeeet". I wasn't that surprised at a parent reveal since 22 Jump Street
when they revealed he was her dad, the theater i was in, you could just hear everyone audibly gasps and sigh lol. it was great
Yeah!
Computer-Monster He's still got the batglare
Man the twist with Liz's dad was awesome. No one saw that coming. In my screening there was a lady a few rows behind me who just let out such a loud gasp when he opened the door. It was brilliant.

I agree!! Tony tried to make him see without his own powers he doesnt deserve the suit. So when he yelled "I'm Spiderman!" Was his way of realizing what he's truly capable of without his suit.
So to be clear the vulture is MJ's dad?
When Sammy was like "I had one person say they didn't know what the Vulture's motivation was", I thought Korey was looking around for a gun 😂😂😂
Coleman reachin' for a gun like:
"Delet This."
ToruKun1 that shit made me think "did you like come to the movie 10 minutes late?"
RIGHT?? Because they establish THAT.......right at the BEGINNING of the movie!
😂😂😂
If I was Spider-Man in the movie, I would have went all Frozone from the Incredibles and been like "Tony, where's my super-suit?!"
lol
when Happy said that someone bought the Avengers tower, I'm making a guess that it was Osborn who bought the building
Honestly I thought Reed Richards at first, but that shit aint happnin
bodine1231 We can hope and pray that Fox will now wave the white flag and surrender F4 after 3 failed F4 film franchises, and 4 failed F4 films.
Kind of a shame because I really dug Avengers Tower and would've wanted to see more floors of it, and before that happens "well, because of Ultron and stuff we gotta move and shit."
AW, CRAP!
Bodega Shogun fantastic 4
Bodega Shogun are you sure it's not the Baxter building that's being built?

Exactly. In Civil War, they showed that Spider-Man has "spider sense" when he dodged whatever Bucky threw at him and then Spidey threw it back..
Flame of Udun But that doesn't mean it should be completely ignored especially when it's Peter's greatest strength that makes him unique to everyone else.
See the last sentence of my comment. They will address spider sense further in future movies. The most we can do now is wait.
Kevin Rivera
They did show it though. They didn't highlight it with slowmo or whatever they've shown it with before, but it was there. Remember that his spidey sense goes off for threats.
Flame of Udun I hope you're right man because I really really don't want them to just delegate it to the suit.
I thought that Spidey's eyes expressed how much he was using his Spider Sense.

Ren Davis yup I agree with you 100 %
Ren Davis 100% agree with you
"This film is pure Spider-Man brought to screen"
This movie was pure hipster bullshit brought to the screen.
errant3 I think you got Homecoming confused with the not-so Amazing Spider-Man flicks. Garfield was pure hipster in those movies.
Agreed...the one with the skateboarding Peter Parker sounds far more hipster to me...
I'm calling it now. Norman Osborn bought out the Avengers Tower to build Oscorp. And Harry will be transferred over into his junior year.
John S I'm also calling it that the Avengers moving out of NY and heading upstate will be subtly mentioned in the Defenders series, and will serve as the reason for Daredevil and the others to work together more often.
Torontofan 💯💯
im very disappointed that that didn't happen
@@jordanj809 three years later and we still don't know who bought the tower, still a chance
Yeah hulk!
yeah Thor!
RalphJr2020 I was laughing when that happened because he was clapping to.
Mackenzie Lambert hahaha. Man Loki might be like "Dude I'm not even involved in the fight, but thanks for cheering me on." 😂
YEAH THANOS!!!
I liked the scene where he was trapped under the building mainly because it was a reminder of how in over is head he was. He reacted like a scared kid would, almost breaking down into tears.
I'm with Martin, my first thought was that Michael Keeton kidnaped the family when he opened the door. Great twist
1st thought that too,
But then you see "No....this guy is a lovin' Father to his family and this IS his family."
Hey there guys, just wanted to let you know at 15:40 where Sammy mentions the picture, that's actually the late king of Thailand, who is very highly revered and loved by the Thais.
snipergirl21 Thank you for that. I figured he was Thai royalty but it is great to know for sure.
snipergirl21 yknow what?
I was saying the same thing. Especially when in the movie Aunt May asks Peter if he wants THAI food. plus he looks nothing like Kim Jong Un.
I wish this comment would make it more to the top so people would see it and hopefully the Double Toasted team. Sammy should apologize.
Ziggy Zag he doesn't have to do shit LOL he doesn't know anything about that guy so who gives a shit. stop being sensitive everybody gets made fun of some people get offended and some people don't deal with it.
Sammy is an ignorant fat fuck that needs to go a history class!
The HS is in New York City, I would have major problems with having a majority white HS in the middle of NYC. If you have visited NYC, you can stand on a crowded corner and everyone around you are speaking different languages. NYC is multinational and the school needed to be reflected as such.
"my spidey senses telling me you TOO FUCKING OLD to be in high school!" LOL korey
Section 8.0 if anything Andrew Garfield looked like a 30 year old hipster in high school.
Welcome back Spider-man, it's been a long time.
I think the Vulture stinger was an actual stinger because the scene wouldn't have fit in the end of the actual movie
In the car he turns around with a gun looks Peter dead in the eye and says ...."You ever dance with the devil in the pale moon light?"
Someone pointed it out to me that the second Stark suit in the movie that Peter turned down is not the Iron Spider suit but the suit Ben Reilly used when he became the second Spider-Man when Peter stepped down.
Blew my mind and couldn't believe I didnt catch it.
I adored this movie. They captured Spiderman correctly but it still felt fresh.
Aunt May's always been hot. Just ask Doc Ock.
This movie despite the small changes is Spidey straight outta the comics. Dope as fuck!
Shout out to that wedding rang, bruh! Congratulations and best wishes to you and the Mrs.!!
i always liked the times in the comics where Flash and Peter are actually best friends after high-school. It broke that stereotype of "once a bully, always a bully". People change. They mature. Usually they don't...but sometimes they do, and that fact is not often represented with "bully" archetype.
Wait, so people are complaining that a school in New York City is diverse and that his friend at a school for geniuses is smart???
Filipinos aren't stereotyped as "techy", plus the stereotype is asians are good at math and indians are the stereotype "techy". There's no stereotype of asians loving chess. What did the "asian kid in the bathroom" have to do with him being asian and how was he the butt of a joke... the joke was happy and peter were very weird and it was awkward because of them, not he asian kid... man yall need to stop talking about the asian issues.
youreallinsane Sammy was reaching
Sammy is an idiot thats why hes not on the show as a host!
Well tbh they're never really fleshed out characters. They're always used for comedic purposes not all the time but most. If that makes sense
And I'm not asking for a huge character but they're always either a genius, a sidekick
man id complain over asian folks getting the short end of the stick in these movies but coddamn as a filipino it was soooo refreshing to see a filipino kid in a marvel movie like YES THATS MY KABABAYAN RIGHT THERE
19:30 I'm crying of laughter
I actually liked the part of the building on him. It really worked for me, because it was straight out of the comics, and more importantly it showed off how strong Spider-Man is. The dude can lift 10 tons and finally the movies are demonstrating it. I think Tom's acting was great, in the scene. He made me feel seriously claustrophobic, and it reminded me that he was a kid again.
She isn't Mary Jane, she is Michelle Jones, she is a new character who shares the MJ initials
finally someone points this out. it like no one else can have the MJ initials. though i know in real life there are people who shares names that from other people. makes the world feel more real in my opinion
Aunt May knew who Spidey was in the Ultimate cartoon too.
When he said "I don't know what his motivation was" I died. lol
That was a hell of a twist. I usually see that shit a mile away but they got me. They didn't cheat either, it made perfect sense.
I like the spoiler talks cause you can go more in depth and also address people's criticisms of the movie
Yea since this a spoiler talk. I'll be honest while this is a High Full Price movie the only issues I had were
- Shocker not fully getting his suit and there was some BTS photos of the shocker suit I wouldve loved to see in the film
- His spider-sense, I know he said in Civil War he didnt know how to react to it fully but still I wouldve liked some lil mention of it.
and of course the whole MJ thing.
I think its safe to say if Shocker is comin' back, we'll see the full costume and maybe a 2nd gauntlet to boot, since he only had one.
They weren't electric though
JaxBlade he wasn't the shocker yet...yet.. although a yellow leather jacket would have been cool.
JaxBlade I think shocker will come back with a costume once he is fully equipped with his skills. All of the characters including spiderman were discovering there powers in this movie
The spidey sense was in Civil War too, when stuff was coming from behind, he noticed it and ducked. So yeah, it's subtle, but it's there.
In some comics book aunt may knew Peter was spider man all along.
Right on time 👏🏼👏🏼 also get double toasted to 100k 💃🏻💃🏻 also hi 💁🏻
foosheezoo
Hello
My only nitpick is the lack of spider sense and not a lot of high up web slinging between buildings. Other then that this was a great summer flick and Keaton was great as the villain
"My Spidey Sense Is Tingling"-That's what I told Aunt May lastnight when Peter was delivering pizzas lol
I never understand how there are people who say 2002 spider man is not top two. Green Goblin was incredible
That Goblin mask will haunt my dreams tonight. 🤤🤤🤤
Kaleiohu Lee she's Michelle not Mary Jane. Simple.
The moment when he heard the voice of Stark was one of the best moments. It's the moment he actually becomes Spider-Man.
Haha, "stinger" because it's scorpion...
Scorpion, played by God damn Vaas from FC3.
Only thing I didn't like was the Shocker. My favorite part is when he says "Cmon peter... Cmon spider man! Tough to see a kid crying like that but then rise up. We see it a lot in comic book movies but it's different when he's so young.
anyone else thinks Korey makes funny impersonations
Peter talking to his suit is his inner monologues bubbles from the comics
If they had confirmed that she was MJ at the beginning, then we would have been less invested in the Liz romance, since we would know it would fail
Aunt may in the movies ALWAYS knew it was just never said, you can tell how she talks to him.
Marvel's troll level was 1000 with this movie 😂😂😂
BLVCK Atlantian
"Stop being teasable" Seriously he has to be fucking with them
The drive to homecoming is one of the best scenes in MCU history
UchihaYugi
Lmfao, yes please!!
Ren Davis full price....but what depth are u talking about
sebastian galoria I loved how she's a character that pretends that she doesn't care at all, but underneath her cold exterior, she cares a lot more than she lets on.
"I was...looking at...porn...."
there was a lil kid next to me and he asked his dad..."what did he say? porn? what's porn dad? i was dying
red raidet Were you in the same theater as me? Same thing happened to me. Made me and my Dad laugh loud as hell.
Flame of Udun One of my hisgchool teachers was there with her 4 year old and I can just imagine the awkwardness when he asks about it later on.
I saw the movie twice and that happened both times lmao
I loved that moment
Movies are 50% video and 50% audio. Although I really enjoyed the new Homecoming movie, there is no clear theme or music score throughout the film making it easily forgettable. Yet, when I stop to think about Spiderman, the incredible score from Danny Elfman embedded the emotion and heart of Spiderman making it powerful and memorable back in 2004.
Holy shit that mask at the end!
There's an Easter egg where they talk about The Sokovia Accords
Really hyped for the next one, hoping it can maintain the surprising quality of Homecoming.
Batman v Spider-Man: Dawn of May
Green Goblin was always his number one enemy
he killed Gwen Stacy
MJ got the KHAN (Star Trek into darkness) treatment XD
I'm with Martin on the MJ thing. I don't think we need to be spoon fed her background. Giving her a definitive back story doesn't improve the movie in anyway. There's just a small percentage of fanboys that get rattled.
The black kid from Stranger Things would make a great Miles Morales.
I love Double Toasted. There's something cozy about listening to two funny black guys talking about movies and pop culture late at night.
The Green Goblin prototype mask was dope!!
When I first saw it, I couldn't finish the video, b/c that sh*t was terrifying! I'm kinda glad they went with the Power Ranger mask. Otherwise, that thing would've haunted my nightmares for months when I was a kid.
6:55 - 7:03 is basically the majority of the Sonic fanbase in a nutshell.
martin is almost ALWAYS on point...
I am fully down with her being MJ
I feel like There is a greater a part for Spider-Man to play in MCU. We have to wait like we did when iron man first came out. But a great first movie with Easter eggs begging for more.
As an uber Spider-Man nerd, I absolutely hated the fact that Iron Man supplies the suit in this movie. What I love about Peter is his intelligence and creativity. That and the spider-sense nonsense were my only gripes. I enjoyed the characters, the story and the action for most of it. I'm gonna be a fucking nerd if I want to, Korey!
About the Spidey-Sense:
- I understood that the best thing about the film is that it showed me it's there, doing its thing to keep Spidey alive and safe. I didn't need hand-holding, beyond that.
About Aunt May figuring it out:
- She's not an idiot, nor in denial about it. This could mean Spidey may have a support structure in and out of the costume. That's a positive message to kids. There ARE such things as adults who CAN understand and support you for you. The whole trope of "adults just don't understand" is the real B.S.
About Toomes having limited screen time:
- Too much of a good thing is also bad. Keaton was just right.
About post-credit scenes:
- People at Marvel are starting to think THIS is part of their brand, so they "gotta have a treat for later." NO. You're painting yourself in the corner.
About MJ:
- It's been established nearly 10 years ago that the MCU is its own separate continuity, based on the comics in new ways (some from the Ultimate universe, some from the mainstream continuity). I accepted that, and dropped that point years ago. MJ can look however they want her to look now, as long as she can still make Parker FEEL like he won the jackpot later. It's worth waiting for, however way the MCU does it.
About the race-swapping for the secondary characters:
- Why not?
About the Prowler & Miles Morales in future films:
- Why not? If (stupid) executives want to take Parker away, the fans may still have a Spider-Man on film.
About the Avengers leaving NYC:
- That's fine. We needed room for The Defenders to run NYC, anyway. Spidey was never much of a "joiner" in the first place; Spidey is clutch and that's it. The Avengers are not the best at saving the world, until they can get over themselves. JUST like in the comics.
My complaint about these Spiderman movies is they have way too much Spiderman.
"Quit being a fucking nerd" nerds out over Spider-Man and captain America.
cjtier That's different to a lot of these people complaining about the changes that are made for the movie.
When he was under the rocks and heard Tony’s voice . It was reminiscent to Craig telling himself he a man without it 😂
I'm with you, Martin. I got the impression that maybe he'd already figured out Peter's identity and he was just going to be waiting for him. When things turned out to be normal is when things got incredibly tense for me. Great scene.
They clearly showcased spidy sense in the Civil War hanger fight. Why complain?
Not really. Him dodging things from behind could have been super-senses.
The 'spider sense' only happens in the beginning of the origin movies, then conveniently goes away for the showdowns... it's just put in there because fans would cry if it weren't. I'm glad they didn't even bother with it in this one.
youreallinsane It was there at the final battle of spiderman 1 when he jumped over that glider.
Yes it makes brief appearances whenever Peter needs a convenient Deus Ex to beat the bad guy
The Infinity War trailer shows Peter getting goosebumps. and that!..... gave me goosbumps too.
