It's often the camera but most modern cars have ABS if you have to brake hard enough for the ABS to kick in your brake lights will flash on and off as that's how ABS works

I was going to make exactly the same comment. Seems to have an issue with buses. Both situations could have been easily solved with forward planning, first allow the bus out before making the turn, and listen to your passenger who says "just go back", second one shouldn't need explaining, but basically back off and allow the bus to change lanes. Driving is much easier and more relaxing if you forward plan, and remove your grudge against bus drivers.

Came up to straight that I know well foot down go down a few gears except this guy took such offense at me trying to overtake me that he sped up. Now thankfully the road was clear I made sure before going for the overtake. That and my car has enough grunt to get past this clown whenever someone speeds up on me when I'm overtaking them they are either usually a boy racer or someone who's clearly beyond stupid.

Flashing your lights is to show/remind someone you are there; it does not indicate intent. AFAIK, the right thing to do would have been to stop well back from the junction to give the bus room to make its' maneuver. Seeing as defiantfox has won TOTW however, just ignore all common sense and let your feelings run your life.

At what point is it a good idea to pull out like he did and not even cautiously? Even if he slowed down to 30/40 it could have been a nasty accident. There is no way the cam car is at fault. I drive this road everyday and I wouldn't be expecting a car to appear from that junction in that situation. That doesn't make me a shit driver.

The second bus indicated and began to change lanes in plenty of time for him to act accordingly, but instead he continues at speed towards him just so he can act like he ended up in his way out of nowhere. It didn't look like they slowed down all that fast actually. The end of the barrier looks squishy and absorbent, and the front wheel detached which allowed the Range Rover to ramp over the blunt end. They were still going at least 50-55mph when they were upside-down.

The intended purpose of the flash was to alert the bus driver of his presence. But anyway, he could see the bus drivers intentions a mile off, just taking his foot of the accelerator would have been enough to make it a non-event.

I think DefiantFox was so occupied with wanting to feel outraged, he failed to employ some thinking - the bus driver appears to have mistaken a headlight flash with going over a hump. Still the bus driver's fault, but as you say, being in the right doesn't mean you must make things worse.
Also he was going slowly enough that he had plenty of time to stop. If it had been on a country road where the speed limit is 60mph it would be a bit of a different story

@@PedroConejo1939 it's a 60mph road, the BMW has pulled out of a junction at which he has to give way and is completely blind to the traffic approaching from the left. At what point is it a good idea to pull out like he did and not even cautiously? Even if he slowed down to 30/40 it could have been a nasty accident. There is no way the cam car is at fault. I drive this road everyday and I wouldn't be expecting a car to appear from that junction in that situation. That doesn't make me a shit driver.
@@smeders87 The BMW did pull out pretty cautiously. That’s why it was almost straight in the middle of the road and accelerating. An uncautious pull out would have seen the BMW pull straight across onto the left side of the road and either get t-boned or hit up the rear.
So DefiantFox at 6:37 flashes a bus to let them in and gets all shitty when he pulls across.

I mean according to the high way code 'Only flash your headlights to let other road users know that you are there. Do not flash your headlights to convey any other message or intimidate other road users. ' so I suppose you could argue they were letting the bus know they're there and not to change. Since it's used to let people in now days it's sort of ruined the meaning.

I can understand DefiantFox's reaction to the first bus at 5:47, but the second one at 6:44? You could have made a cup of tea in the length of time you knew what they'd be doing!
Defiantfox is also indicating left in the first instance, the bus probably thought he was turning into the junction (wrongly)
I believe the second incidents reaction stems from the ptsd of having to wait and let the bus turn in the first instance.

The dash cam doesn't update all the time so the speed shown isn't actually what they're going, you could see they were braking hard but the speed went down by only 2 mph, after a bit you see it drop to 40 when they start accelerating again. The car pulled out on them what were they supposed to do?

Defiantfox literally drives around looking to beep at people and pretend he's the one being wronged. The second bus indicated and began to change lanes in plenty of time for him to act accordingly, but instead he continues at speed towards him just so he can act like he ended up in his way out of nowhere.

It didn't look like they slowed down all that fast actually. The end of the barrier looks squishy and absorbent, and the front wheel detached which allowed the Range Rover to ramp over the blunt end. They were still going at least 50-55mph when they were upside-down.

The intended purpose of the flash was to alert the bus driver of his presence. But anyway, he could see the bus drivers intentions a mile off, just taking his foot of the accelerator would have been enough to make it a non-event.
@@JohnCarlyle of course, the flash is supposed to warn people of your presence but DefiantFox should know that if someone is indicating (anywhere) and you flash, they're gonna assume it's to let you in/out. Which is what the bus did 😊

DefiantFox yes the bus should have given way to you, but you only worsened the situation by moving so close they had no room to turn. Large, long vehicles need more room to turn and if they’ve committed just let them
I think DefiantFox was so occupied with wanting to feel outraged, he failed to employ some thinking - the bus driver appears to have mistaken a headlight flash with going over a hump. Still the bus driver's fault, but as you say, being in the right doesn't mean you must make things worse.

@@BritJim He flashed him in at 6:46, but no flash at 5:52 - both clips are by DefiantFox though, and first bus could've waited till car passed before pulling out, and second bus got flashed so it was safe to change lanes but then got honked at for no reason

2:34 yes this guy was driving a massive machine and we do though all make mistakes (agreed this could possibly have ended up nasty) even if driving a Mini. The driver acknowledged his mistake and I'm darn sure that that was a lesson learned...It's the drivers that make this mistake and then feel they have the right to swear or 'give the finger' that need highlighting, was a close call agreed though.
That last clip was brutal. Driver distraction probably? If it was, the barrier got their attention
Credit to IanT the dashcammer - anticipated it and slowed down. Gave the car loads of space. Could have easily been much closer when the accident happened as they were doing 50 in a 70 zone at that time.

4:08 The stretch of road here narrows to one lane for a short distance because the cost of moving the pylons was too much to widen it. The result is the "I most Overtake everyone" brigade can't hang on for 5 secs for when it's back to 2 lanes and would rather have a head on crash. Witness it everyday

The amount of dashcam footage I have from the same location as Adster is insane. That whole road/bridge/roundabout is a nightmare.
