the biggest issue i think most of these drivers have is not having enough patience, most of these clips could of been very easily avoided if they just waited or slowed down, and all that would of done is add less than a minute to their journey

The van was arguably worse as it sped up even though it could see an oncoming car - if the passing car had hit the oncoming car and there had been injuries, the van would have been partially to blame for trying to block them

Reminds me of overtaking a man driving his young son, straight road, 60mph (he was going slower). He actually accelerated to stop me completing the manoeuvre, 70mph side-by-side! Oncoming traffic meant I had to rapidly slow & tuck-in behind him. The mentality of it astounded me.

That effectively blocked the car from getting into the gap in front of you and forced them from a relatively safe overtake (speed limit not withstanding) into a double overtake on a blind summit. You can argue about whether the overtake was necessary or not, but your response to the overtake was unnecessary and dangerous and put other road users lives at risk for no reason.

On entering the RAB you are then driving on a circular one-way road that is subject to all the normal rules of such a road. If someone is already established there then you have no priority over them. There have been numerous successful prosecutions of people who have assumed that approaching at high speed on a road “to the right” gives priority over someone who would be fully on the RAB before them. All traffic established on a RAB must be coming from the right of anyone entering (think about the circular road idea and it becomes clear).

Ashley is also a subscriber of using roundabouts correctly and not driving over the middle unless your vehicle is too long of course. He is also one of turning incidents into non incidents. In fact he uses that in a lot of analysis videos and it's something I am trying to learn to do. Not saying the other car shouldn't have given way, just that Kieran doesn't know how to use mini roundabouts. These clips are a dime a dozen though. @@gerardmontgomery280 Which is not how roundabouts in the UK work. The BMW is meant to give way to all vehciles approaching from that right. That includes ones not yet on the roundabout. Section 185 of the UK Highway Code.
@@japsniper1980 I'd argue the BMW was on the roundabout a significant amount of time before the cam car got there and if the cam car actually slowed for the roundabout and went around it instead of over it there would have been no issue.
First clip: I would have thought 50/50 here, possibly more blame to the BMW driver. Yes, the Audi driver should have been paying more attention, but I can see absolutely no reason for the BMW to have stopped there. I saw it as the BMW stopping as if to say "why are you edging out you nearly clipped me" for the Audi to not realise and rear end him. Great "lesson" that turned out to be.

And this is why I sit with my hazards on and keep tapping my brake lights on and off if I'm the end car in an unexpected queue of traffic like that, until I'm SURE whomever is behind me has seen me. Then I'll stop the hazards and put the handbrake on and take my foot off the brake. Well done for leaving that big gap in front though, so that car had some extra room to move forward as Tomy practiced his emergency brake/swerve/swear.
There's a hell of a lot of drivers that should be wearing glasses while driving, not just the elderly either. But nothing will change with that, until someone dies from it so, carry on I suppose ey!

@@japsniper1980 Effectively it IS “who gets there first....” - and has to be. On entering the RAB you are then driving on a circular one-way road that is subject to all the normal rules of such a road. If someone is already established there then you have no priority over them. There have been numerous successful prosecutions of people who have assumed that approaching at high speed on a road “to the right” gives priority over someone who would be fully on the RAB before them. All traffic established on a RAB must be coming from the right of anyone entering (think about the circular road idea and it becomes clear).

Would Like to hear Asley Neal's assessment on Kieran P's Roundabout example at 8:45 Think this is a possible learning opportunity for a lot of folk.
Ashley Neal is a give way to traffic approaching from the right subscriber. This clip starts when it’s too late to judge the actions of the other driver. I think a lot of people would have been slightly miffed if they were in Kieron’s position, but would have just slotted in behind.

Thing is if Kieran had used the roundabout correctly and safely, it is likely that nothing bad would have happened. Ashley is also a subscriber of using roundabouts correctly and not driving over the middle unless your vehicle is too long of course.
He is also one of turning incidents into non incidents. In fact he uses that in a lot of analysis videos and it's something I am trying to learn to do.
Not saying the other car shouldn't have given way, just that Kieran doesn't know how to use mini roundabouts.
These clips are a dime a dozen though. Every one of these compilations has someone using it incorrectly with someone else not giving way. Not something of any note worth even asking tbh.
