This video struck something deep in me...because I actually have a crush on a "nice guy" and it just made me feel...warm....
Moral of the story. GROW SOME BALLS AND TELL THE GIRL HOW YOU FEEL FROM THE START SO YOU CAN FIGURE OUT WHERE YOU STAND SO IT WON'T BE AKWARD LATER.

This is a fairy tale. It almost never works out this way.
Sometimes it works out that way but the NICE GUY type is too predictable and the girl losses interest within a few months.

The importance of this short movie is very clear. It was made well enough (at the time) to share the clarity that can develop from being Yourself as a Nice Guy. This Nice Guy (Me) met a Nice Lady, Now We have a Nice Son and have been Married for 48 years. It can and does happen.. You only get out of Life what Your willing to put into it. Love Your Short and meaningful Movies..
I hope there's a sequel to this, where they are engaged but going through common problems. That'll be a fun Wong-Fu video.
Being 100% honest, this video is a complete representation of who I was and who I am to this day. Not to the extreme as before, but after this video I should stop having that mentality. Thanks Wong Fu, your videos always inspire me to do better. ^_^

People that are just too nice never get the girl because they come off a friendly type of guy. Sometimes guys use the nice guy excuse when they can't get a girl. That's because sometimes they are just into different type of guys. I am a nice guy and i never got the attention of one girl i liked, we liked the same music, we had the same favorite show but instead she went with some soccer playing guy who i hated and doesn't even look like a good match with her that dude is always getting in trouble and she started ditching ever since. though me being a nice guy got 2 girls to fall for me, i didn't really like them but just went out for a while. Basically, not all girls want jerks and not all want nice guys because every girl is different. and it also just depends on what you have in common

Achaemenes of Persia Definitely feel the same way, when I’m around my crush, I just feel like I can’t relate to her at all. I don’t really know what to talk about with her because I’m too scared that anything I say will make her think negatively on me because of my sense of humor or the way I try to talk to her just isn’t interesting. Maybe she doesn’t even care what I have to say and I’m just bothering her. Maybe not, I don’t know.. But since I don’t talk a lot, especially when she’s got her friends with her, I probably seem pretty boring and annoying when I do talk. Also, even if I did start to act outgoing, it would feel too out of place and then she’d just think I’m weird because I’m acting way differently than usual.
I remember watching this video for the first time back when I was in middle school, and now I'm a student at UCSD and I can't get over how funny it is to recognize my school in this video and to watch them as students themselves.

what about the nice girl..... this is me in real life but as a female. i get friend zoned constantly. and taken advantage of and i just fiigured out why after watchin this video... pretty much puts things into perspective for me.
Lauren Armenta doesn't have to be bc we know you can change it. being nice (yes i been labeled a nice guy until i figured it out) helps but it's not the only/ main factor that draws attraction from the opposite gender. you need something else to compliment courteous personality (for guys, confidence, high self esteem, laid back personality, funny etc) (for girls, spontaneous, great sense of humor, flirtateous, laid back, etc). gotta do at least enough to show the other person you are looking for a relationship otherwise you just keep yourself trapped playing it safe, feel sorry for yourself and lower your own self esteem, results in you become less appealing to opposite gender >>>>> friendzone

Funny - I'm reading the comments and realized that I've been on both sides of the friendzone coin.
In high school, a girl had a crush on me but I liked someone else. I talked to this high school friend about the person I liked, blah, blah. But then in recent years, the situation flipped. I liked a co-worker but she wasn't interested in me (had BF, broke off, but dated others) and I listened to her stories.
In my dating life now, I really don't settle for "friends" anymore. If there's no interest from the woman, I just move on. I have plenty of friends I can talk to these days. It sucks but it's the way it is.
Some nice guys do finish first. Loved your video by the way. You should make more long videos like this

I really like this video because I can relate to it very well. I'm treated as a nice guy by my friends as well so I also have those thoughts and feelings. This video just made me so sad because I'm exactly like that in a girl version. And I guess it's kind of a wake up call and now I know what I've been doing wrong. I think the sucky thing about being a "nice guy" or "nice girl" is that we're nice to the person we like but then we think we're being too obvious so we try to act the same to other people and the person we really like just thinks we're like that to everyone. Just kinda sad but this video was truly a wake up call
Don't say that. I have been placed in those shoes of a nice guy. And trust me when I looked into the flipside. You will end up being hurt even more. Continue to be who you are trust me. Learn from others
I hate to bash my own gender, but we guys are idiots when it comes to getting the hint. Most of us cannot read social cues, especially the nice guys.
Don't assume that we get it, girls are usually much much better at reading body language, so all those very intricate plans and moves that you do (thrusting your hair in his face, touching your neck, etc), thinking he is going to notice that you into him, will go over our heads because most of us cannot read social cues unless you write in a paper and throw at our face.
One thing that mostly works to get guys focused, and notice some of the hints you are giving is touching, arms, shoulder, legs, hands, face. I'm not saying put you hand there and live there for minutes, touch for a few seconds and pull away, at first will feel awkward but comfortable but when you pull away that comfort goes away and we give attention in order to get that feeling back, this works for both genders, we have been conditioned this way from birth.
With that you just got the guy to pay closer attention to what you are doing because it disrupts the flow of the usual conversation, and now we are more likely to notice subtle social cues. But because we cannot read this hints, at first we guys get puzzled, and as soon as the girl is not around he will ask his friends (mostly guys unless he has a close female friend that is not too close to you) if they noticed something different about the way you interact with him. Then if you guys are not too close friends and he is attracted (Guys are usually shallow and attraction starts by looks for us) to he will make a move, if you guys are close or there is other social detraction it will take some time as we tend to over analyze what is going on and how can we avoid being rejected. If you use to go out with one of his good friends don't even try, he is not going to make a move and he will distance from you.
THIS ONLY WORK WITH THE GEEK AND NICE GUY TYPE. The more social guy is a little better at reading social cues because he has associated them with success in approaching girls.
The ending made me cry it was such a relief. I was so happy for Phil & that she liked him in return.
