You're doing a great job on your channel. I know none of this really relates to me as I'm from the United States. But it's videos like this Terry that are going to help people tremendously. Great job doing your part. Each and every video is getting better.

Hi Matt. Thank you so much for your lovely comments, they mean a great deal. I am still very nervous about uploading video's, but hopefully, this will get less, as time goes on haha.
I know the Benefits and Concessions for Blind and Visually Impaired is UK related, but, I hope that it will encourage people regardless of where they are to seek out. what is available for them. I struggled, as no one told me about them, which is crazy, and there is so much more than what I have covered so far.
I feel compelled to share with people, because all of these things have made a difference to me, and have actually helped me to do the things in the main that I want to do - just differently.
Take care my friend and catch up with you soon

Hi Terry, I'm going to be starting university next year and I noticed that the fees to get into universities are very expensive, I'm wondering if there is any funding for blind and visually impaired students to help pay for university entry fees in the UK. If you know anything about this I would find a video on this topic very helpful
I do have the railcard and I find it very useful. I love going to different places in the UK and the railcard comes in handy. I heard a rumour that they're bringing out a card that can help with air miles and also help you to get assistance at the airport, I'm not sure if it's true though

Hey Matt. The only thing I'm aware of re: university funding for the blind is something called DSA (Disabled ~Students Allowance
Here are a couple of links that that will tell you what it does and does not cover - its worth a read for sure.
      www.gov.uk/disabled-students-allowances-dsas
UCAS is a great place to start with things like this too - www.ucas.com/undergraduate/applying-university/individual-needs/disabled-students
Hope that helps Matt, and if I come across anything else, I will of course let you know.
I haven't heard of the Air-miles thing - but, would love it if there was something, as I collect Airmiles a lot, and a few years ago, flew all the way to Japan on my airmails, and it paid for my accommodation too :-). Once or twice a year, they have an airmails "sale" so, I got double the miles :-)
Great as always to hear from you Matt, and I hope you are well
      Terry

@@LowVisionUKTerrysView thanks for that Terry that really helps, I will read those links. It could be possible that certain universities offer support to pay for entry fees but as I don't know which university I will be attending yet I will have to wait to ask them. I find it very frustrating as I've been trying to find out some information on funding for quite a while now but they don't make it easy to find the information.
The airmiles thing is just a rumour I heard but it would definitely come in handy when travelling abroad.
Thanks again for your help. I hope you are well, Matt

@@mattinfullvision9598 It is so difficult Matt to find relevant information, its almost as though any one with a disability also has to be qualified as a Private Detective before they can find anything relevant to them! haha

This card is open all the time ?

    • @LowVisionUKTerrysView
      @LowVisionUKTerrysView  ปีที่แล้ว

yes, it is. If you are registered blind. If registered partially sighted, then you get half price rail and bus travel during certain times as opposed to free travel at all times. hope that helps

Thanks so much - I struggled greatly just over a year ago getting relevant and useful information when I was diagnosed with a visual impairment - and anything that helps someone else to struggle a little less in my view ( and clearly yours too ) is worthwhile doing.
Thank you for your comment, and support - much appreciated

Good morning Amanda. Thank you for your comment. Yes, me too. It is astonishing to see the differences really, sometimes subtle, and then other times, poles apart. What do you have where you are: In terms of travel assistance, both financial and concessionary wise?
