  • Emergency gear extension on the Tecnam P2006T during its first 100-hour check.
The emergency landing gear system uses a pressure relief valve to let the gear free fall, and then an accumulator valve to add accumulator pressure to the system locking the gear in the down and green position. First one was done with the 20second wait time between the relief valve and accumulator valve and it still dumped hydraulic fluid. I would wait the 20 seconds, but it is not placarded that you have to in the emergency instructions.
Feel free to post questions and I will try to answer them but I am just a pilot and not a mechanic. I would suggest that if you have the chance to help with the 100 hr on your Tecnam, do it! It was a great learning experience for me as many of the Tecnam systems operate differently from some of the more conventional aircraft. ~

You might look at the maintenance books for the Tecnam they have descriptions of the systems that are helpful and easier to understand than the POH.
Tecnam would do well to design a training program with videos and clear descriptions of the systems as their primary sales market is as a training aircraft.

Do you have any information about the jack that supports the aircraft?

Sorry i don’t have much info on the stand. It wasn’t very complicated and they finished it in a few days out of plywood and a few 2x4s on a rolling dolly.
