    Very nicely done under difficult conditions.
    Wish you'd opened the box with the wireless version of this model and at least shown what the innards look like.
    As of today, November 3rd 2018, there are no photos or video of them that can be obtained by regular searches.
    Optex, the supposed manufacturer has the most confusing material on their site and absolutely no guidelines.
    Their installation manual is the worst I've seen on any piece of security equipment in 20 years.
    Wonder if you can confirm what the VXI-RDAM-X5 model is - whether wired or wireless. And also what is the actual model number of the wireless model(s) you have.

      @@ecologicaltime did you ever make the video?

    Would a curtain sensor not have been a better option here? You mentioned being mostly concerned about intruders walking along the wall, surely this would give better coverage?

    Hi love this video. My beam is not sensing any movement. The led light continously flashes. Not sure if you could advise possible faults

      its signalling that its been tampered. It could also be faulty depending on the flashes.

    Hello,
    You seems to be a specialist, so you could probably help me because I can't have a reply from Optex support.
    I use multiple VXI-RAM and VXI-RDAM for many years and I have the same problem for all devices. After replacing the battery, when I replace the cover, ,the LED blinks 3 times repeatidly (Anti-masking).
    For a device, I've washed the cover inside and outside and make it work. But for all other devices, it does not work.
    Is the sensor too old and does not work as it should, or the plastic cover too old to let the sensor works fine ? Do you have experienced the same issue ?
    I had to disable #5 dip switch to use my VXI normally (disabled anti-mask detection)

    Hi thanks for a great video. Have you done a video on the wireless model? Is the Optex VXI st a wireless model? Thanks

      i am still to do it. I have been using a wireless one for 2 years and can now do a review of it and its reliability.

    Good evening. Any idea as to why a VXI would have worked perfectly but now shows as violated when the beam is not detecting movement as the red light does not come on. It does work as it comes on when i move but if i stand still the beam does not detect me but the panel says it is not ready to arm as zone 8 (the vxi) is detecting movment. Could it be a faulty end of line resistor?

    • @ecologicaltime
      @ecologicaltime  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      if you bypass the zone out on your panel with a resister, does it solve the problem (connect resister across the zone)? It should. Then when it does, remove the resister and put the wire back and now do the same at the sensor side. If it no longer shows violated, then the issue is with the sensor. Why i am telling you this, is that it could be a cable fault, so you want to test the cable.

      @warrenpfo 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ecologicaltime Narrowed it down to the resistor. Security Super Store did not give me a 3k3 resistor but something else. It worked for a while but on replacing it the problem was solved. Thank you

      On a seperate note how about a video on connecting up one of the red/blue/green/yellow light jobbies that tells you if the alarm is armed or not when approaching the home from the gate.
