To see Americans fighting with european windows? It's a hoot, everytime :-)
2 things a. Windows have 3 positions. Handle on top it lays down as in the video, handle in the middle it opens as a regular window and handle down is for closing. B. Eurorail pass! Unfortunately, it is too late for this trip, you can only buy it in advance, maybe next time. If you go to Japan, look for the Japan rail pass.

The best place in Switzerland is Gimmelwald near Interlaken. Highly recommend it. Little hint...... You'll enjoy your time with a lot less luggage. A backpack each is plenty. Been all over the world with just a back pack.

Last time I was in Europe I bought a Eurorail pass, x number of train trips across Europe during x number of days. It was great and I was able to create my own travel schedule.

Lucern is my favorite city in Switzerland. I have been there 3 times. The last time was about 25 years ago. You will want to cross the old wooden bridges to old town at least once at night. They are very romantic as well as educational. Also a side excursion to Mt. Pilatus is advised. Ride the Funicular up, get some hot chocolate at the top and return down by cable car. Be sure to listen for the cow bells on the way down. Have a great time.

You should take "executive level" on an Italian Frecciarossa 1000 high-speed train. Quite affordable if booked in advance -- and incredible value for money with unlimited food and beverage service from a menu.

12:02 hahaha that's the European standard, with windows, reaching down means closed, you can open it in the middle position and upwards means tilting ....
Actually, you can buy ticket from point A to point B. It seems you bought a ticket to Zurich Main Station to buy then another ticket to Lucerne. You could just have bought a ticket from where you started to Lucerne via Zurich. I don't know if it's a bit less expensive, but you surely can do this. 👍
Luzern is so beautiful and not huge, but it does rain a lot there...

Please visit Montreux, where there is the Queen museum donated by Queen and it’s free! Also Freddy Mercury statue is there. It’s beautiful and full of history.

try to get over to Mt Jungfrau and take the train to the summit, it's the highest peak in Europe

Sometimes buying European train tickets are cheaper if you buy at least 2-3 days in advance. You need to commit to a specific time, though.

It's always funny to see Americans struggle with European windows.
If the handle is down, the window is locked. Handle at 90 degree angle = window opens fully, handle at 180 degrees (up): window tilts. You're welcome 😄

i rhink they should have gone later in the year and wrapped it up with Germany's Oktoberfest in late September. more sunny days in summer
well, we didn't luck out with the absolute best weather. But we're also looking forward to snow coming soon :) and we are PUMPED about that!
I would rather watch the highlights of your trip and not the mundane travel with trains and gloomy skies. Just some constructive suggestions since I watch your channel regularly. Also, if you have paid subscribers or patrons probably eat a proper restaurant meal in Switzerland. I'm sure your patrons can easily pay for that and your view count would go up. Again please take this as constructive advice. Thanks
