      your hands get dirty, they weigh like 5 pounds each and cost 400 dollars each. it is silly. there are 5x better options than boosted. boosted was a pioneer, but bad service, substandard product and lack of ability to keep up with the times has made boosted a bad choice.

    • @IWANTTHATVIDEOS
      @IWANTTHATVIDEOS  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for checking out our video, wolfpack! Much appreciated. I don't think most riders will be shlepping multiple long range batts around with them, nor will most people need a range longer than 12-14 miles. Also...c'mon, you can't justly say that Boosted produced substandard products.

    • @wolfpackforlife1

      Boosted was my first e board of 4. after continuously upgrading over the last 2 years, i got on my boosted and realised it was a pos. sorry to say. get a meepo with tesla battery and ride it. get a gtx and ride that... youll see what i mean.

    I wonder if using Nike Shox or Gravity Defyer sneakers would be alot more comfortable???

  • @VT4
    @VT4 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    Boosted Stealths 3 biggest draw backs: XR batteries still doing realistically 10~ miles or even less at high speed + how much of a pain it is to replace batteries + not being able to take bigger wheels (such as the AT on the Kaly's + Evolves which have a* much better range and cost less if you factor in the price of the extra EX batteries.)

    • @harryharrison4558
      @harryharrison4558 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The batteries, while not quick and requiring a hex key, is certainly not a huge pain to swap out. It takes like 3 mintues tops, and it really isn't meant to be quickly swappable like other batteries in other models. Also, I think that Boosted's boards are meant to be a set type of board - just buy and ride. If you want customizability, then DIY is the really obvious choice.

    • @VT4
      @VT4 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      " it really isn't meant to be quickly swappable like other batteries" Yeah I can tell. I've had a v1 for 2+ years and they kept 90% of the battery design (6 screws + the tension for the battery connection)
      It's clearly not meant for it by its old design but at this premium price point it SHOULD be (imo). Especially since on Hyper mode in the stealth you'll be getting around 6-8 miles riding at top speed which is ridiculously short in comparison to this boards competitors in the same price point.
      Boosted Sold v2's with standard range batteries and people had to pre order the extended range battery (which took over 2 years to come out after heavy delays) so tens of thousands of people have these two batteries so it's ridiculous that they have to spend 5+min with tools on the side of the road to switch batteries when companies like Inboard and mellow have super easy and fast battery swap systems (And even really cheap Chinese companies)
      "If you want customizability, then DIY is the really obvious choice." its not a matter of customizability , more about just being able to utilize a decent amount of range on a $1500+ board. In terms of all terain wheels, the evolve isn't a DIY and it can fit the same wheels as the boosted all the way to full all terain and that goes for the GTX which is super close to boosted's price.
      Boosted does many things really really well. I'm just pointing out that its particularly weak for medium and long distance commuting/rides.

    Or you could just a have a single board from metroboard that goes 55 miles and don't have to worry about carrying million batteries.

  • @chrnaf
    @chrnaf 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Look at all of these evolve fans bashing the range... 1. Evolve makes a fantastic, faster and longer range board. Yes! BUT. If I wanted a faster, longer range to get somewhere... I'd take my car. I ride boosted because nothing feels like a Boosted. Nothing is flickable and reactive and flexible as a Boosted. Countless people have said it, and will continue to say it: When I'm going out for a quick run, I take the Boosted. It's simply more enjoyable.
    Also... can you extract that battery from the Evolve Carbon GT and haul that thing along on an aircraft like you can detach a Boosted Battery?

    • @skatewarriors8683
      @skatewarriors8683 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      you can detach a boosted battery, but you DEFINITELY can't bring it on the plane. Unless you're using one of the old, puny standard range batteries. No airline will allow a 199Wh battery on a plane. It's only allowed as cargo, so no way to travel with it. Only way is shipping the battery separately.

    • @chrnaf
      @chrnaf 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A "puny" standard range battery would leave your feet far behind when you can't bring your evolve board.

    • @chrnaf
      @chrnaf 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually, you CAN bring an XR battery on a plane.... you simply have to undergo the 20 minute process of disassembling the battery and separating the power cells, because the FAA says you have no limit on the amount of sub 99 WH cells. Stick them (individually wrapped) in a ziplock, and reassemble at your destination. The warranty on most boards doesnt last longer than 6 months anyway so who really cares about that. Annoying? Yes. but when you have to attend a course that is 3 weeks long on the other side of the country, shipping your board and waiting a week for it to arrive isn't really efficient. Evolve boards on the other hand, (though I REALLY applaud the carbon's flatpack battery cells) can't have their batteries dissembled and reassembled in less than a few hours, and only then if you are willing to CUT the cells apart and go straight mad scientist.

    • @tylerreeves895
      @tylerreeves895 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chrnaf I disagree about the carbons cells being harder to separate... although I will give it to you that they definitely will be harder to put back together. I took apart my carbon battery once it died. I do agree that the boosted is just a nicer board all together. I use to be an evolve fan boy but about 9 months into my carbon, the hole thing just started falling apart. Battery died completely, remote issues, replaced 5 motors (F-ing stupid open motors) and had a cracked deck... it's a fun fast and far reaching board but holly crap it's a money pit of never ending repairs and issues. The boosted is far more reliable and enjoyable to ride. I absolutely love my boosted, but more importantly is that I haven't stopped loving it like with the Carbon gt.

      Here's our route! We basically followed the bike route Google provided, which puts you on mostly very nice, safe bike rail trails, but had to skip the Van Cortlandt Park section because that was all gravel. imgur.com/a/aZEgoXN

      I WANT THAT yes he was! To get the advertised miles you have baby it. Evolve would have went the trip balls out, and with the AT wheels would have killed that dirt trail.

      THELIGHTSPEED! ! Yup my gtx gets there with 85% left on the battery. I ride that path all the time for fun. My boosted stays home days think I'm gonna sell it but it's a back up in case the gtx ever goes down

    Now try Carvon 4wd and 2wd, I wanna see someone going 50 mph... that's insane... so is the price of the board though... But you can put pneumatic wheels on it without having to change anything... NO belts, no gears... looks awesome... And with pneumatic tyres your theoretical max speed is like 65 mph+ :D

      Ha. Great question. One I gave some thought to before the ride. I ended up picking these up (www.merrell.com/US/en/chameleon-7-stretch/30691M.html?dwvar_30691M_color=J12063#cgid=men-chameleon&start=1) and I gotta say, they were (and still are) the best for long rides. The flex, comfort, and strong soles are perfect. Maybe Merrell should sponsor long rides.

    • @thelightspeed3d712
      @thelightspeed3d712 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ryan Kelly yep Evolve is the way to go. So many people are hyping the Boosted.... but when they start seeing their $1500 board going less than a Chinese board they will wish they listened

    • @ryankelly2380
      @ryankelly2380 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      THELIGHTSPEED! ! I love the gtx looking for a second board don't like the carbon gt too stiff not enough flex I like to ride street wheels, might put an order in for a NYC kaly board,

    • @thelightspeed3d712
      @thelightspeed3d712 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ryan Kelly you know the more boards I try the more I stay with Evolve. They have their issues, but they are few compared to Boosted. I ride my GTX almost 100% with AT wheels. #1 I weigh 220, and #2 in Arizona their are rocks everywhere! Roads are shitty! But I recently got a Meepo V2p and it’s super awesome actually!

    • @sparta7660
      @sparta7660 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      wolfpack forlife , you wish!! I have the carbon and NO it does not do 45miles. Especially on faster modes plus the sag going up hill is ridiculous but even without theses issues the batteries don’t last that long.🤥

    • @wolfpackforlife1
      @wolfpackforlife1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      GTX is better than carbn. I have a bunch of boards also. Boosted is by far the worst. Meepo with extended range tesla battery is a good option. Boosted is not an option.

    • @sparta7660
      @sparta7660 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      wolfpack forlife , ok I’m not even going to bother with you cause obviously you have no idea what you are talking about. The only difference between the carbon and the gtx is the board. One is made out of bamboo the other carbon fiber. All electrical components and batteries are the same. Try harder.

    • @wolfpackforlife1
      @wolfpackforlife1 6 ปีที่แล้ว
