will i be able to survive this boss without soulsplit? my stats are 99 mage 95 range 73 prayer.. ive seen u used ss several times to survive seiryus huge breath and it had me thinking..
The soulsplit switch during the breath attack is only there to not reduce the damage taken from protection prayer. If you just don't protect during the breath, you will be able to get the same healing splats.
For anyone frustrated by this fight and just trying to get through on Story Mode for Curse of the Black Stone, allow me to present **ACURIOUSTANUKI'S SOLO SEIRYU (story mode) GUIDE FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T PVM:**
*OVERVIEW:* The strategy presented here is not intended for repeated kills. It's purpose is to foolproof a single kill as much as possible, without relying on raid abilities like Onslaught, stacking prayers with overload salves and masses of super restores/sara brews, etc. so that non-PVMers can get it done once and move on with their lives. The goal is to stack enough passive healing to not have to worry about running out of supplies, and win out the encounter as safely as possible and as slowly as necessary.
*TIME TO KILL:* 6 cycles; about 30 min
*GEAR:* 1) The best Mage kit you can muster. I used Subjugation robes and a staff of limitless fire. 2) Blood spells. Note that ability damage is capped by the LOWEST tier of your spell and staff, so Blood Barrage (t92) doesn't provide any benefit over Blood Blitz (t80) using a tier 80 or lower staff (the AoE chance isn't really relevant). Runes for 300 casts gave me plenty of buffer. 3) Every other source of passive heal you can get your hands on, namely the Vampyrism Aura, but also Blood amulets, etc. I used the Aura, but no other sources. 4) Stat boosting potions for Magic and Defense. I recommend at least 6 doses (1 per round; see below). 5) Prayer potions. I used around 20 (?) doses (at 300 pts ea), but I was wasteful early on. Prayer Renewals work nicely. 6) Food. Mainly for when you stand in the goo by accident. I only went through 4 rocktails once I figured out dodging Seiryu's attack pattern. 10 rocktails or sharks should be more than enough. Note: The consumables here should fit comfortably within your inventory. Feel free to use a summoning familiar however you see fit (if at all).
*ACTION BAR:* 1) I had Combust, Dragon breath, Sonic Blast, Wrack, and Impact on Revolution. 2) Use Wild Magic and Asphyxiate basically whenever available 3) Use Chain (and potentially Detonate) to grab and clear the blobs 4) Use Metamorphosis/Sunshine when attacking crystals; Metamorphosis again after resuming attacking Seiryu 5) Whatever else you feel like adding *STRATEGY:* 1) Before starting the encounter, activate Vampyrism and take a dose of your stat potions. 2) Activate Protect from/Reflect Magic. This will basically be set-and-forget. Additional prayers can be used at your discretion, so long as you have the prayer pots to support it. 3) Whittle away at Seiryu's health while dodging his three main attacks. See 3:183:49 and 4:43 in the video for attack breakdowns. The breath attack will basically be ignored. Don't worry if you get a few times by these attacks; if it gets too far ahead of your passive heals, eat food. 4) Avoid using thresholds as Seiryu's health approaches 3,600,000. In Story Mode, this is when the black crystals become vulnerable. Position yourself close to the side you intend to climb. 5) As soon as you are able to climb, begin attacking the crystal, use your Ultimate (Metamorphosis or Sunshine), and dump as much damage into the crystal as you can. Your goal is to either get them below half (

nice vid but you forgot to mention that if you're within 2 squares of the bosses face (any distance from left to right, as long as you're not more than 2 away going north/south), the giant breath will not hit
16-18 mins? Really? I just did this in story mode and it took 48 minutes, with shadow glaives, overloads and anguish. I'd love to know how you're getting 3x the dps with lower gear.
To be clear, that time was meant for the boss only, not for the whole dungeon. I just did story mode with T80 armour + T90 weapon and it took me 12 minutes.
Great guide, you sure did get all the details in a short amount of time. PS: Your inventory is a tiny bit taller than the rest of your lower UI and it's really putting me off! :D
So this might be a noobish question but ive never done the alinishi dung before, but can i teleport to this boss with the max guild boss portal? Ive seen that i can teleport to the temple itself but not to the boss himself or? And also, can i quit the dungeon and re-enter it without the need of doing evrything all over? Thanks for the guide!
The Boss portal takes you to the entrance of the dungeons. You can tele out to bank and it will save progress and you can teleport to different checkpoints by right clicking the loot chest but can't skip any bosses or checkpoints
Hey! I like this guide, it really helped me out a lot. If you ever get around to it, could you do a guide to solo Masuta the Ascended in normal mode? Jagex has not come out and released any tactics for him yet (soon™) and I spent a lot of time and coins to be able to solo him in tier 88's, let alone tier 65's or even tier 50's, although it could probably be done if you do it correctly. I'm not sure what your method of doing this boss is, but I would certainly like to know! I always use magic in the elite dungeons, I start off with stagger, wait for the hurricane, and surge away to soul split. When he begins running towards me, I use debilitate with my staff until the waters come around, and then I switch to the wand and shield to take a massive heal off of his tsunami attack after he is done spawning them, since it is guaranteed to hit, and after a minute into the phase I use stagger again. This is basically rinse and repeat for phase 1, but phase 2 and phase 3 in solo can be very overwhelming if you can't deal damage quick enough to the waters and then again in phase 3 to finish him off, although you can use his magic attack to resonance as well, I always ran out of food before defeating him until I realized you need to use sunshine as far away as you can possibly get from him to have enough reaction time to be able to predict his attacks.
What's supposed to happen right after beating the three crystals? He didn't drop anything for me, and I'm just standing there while he talks, trying to talk to him just says he acknowledges me, but nothing is really happening. I'm nervous to leave if the encounter resets. Is there supposed to be a loot chest somewhere?
Im using tier 80 gear with lvl 99 magic, auras, potions, and damage familiar, AND on story mode, and I still can't beat it. Im surviving at least 3 cycles but for some reason my dps is so low and its taking forever to even destroy one crystal.....
yoyo18072 solo Sanctum is shitty if you're not in maxed gear since its a dps race against his purple smoke which can stack up annoying quickly. Duo is a lot more easy, just make sure to Resonance the water spout if you're in the way of it(completely avoid it by standing one square left of the center facing the boss, then when he spouts move two squares right, as it's 360 degrees exactly). Gl!!! (sorry no tips on solo Masuta, all my kills are trio and phase one I find myself having to eat a ridiculous amount of damage in between Def abilities if I don't get KO'd as soon as Devo drops lmao)
@@lolbajset No Overloads, don't have the Herblore for that yet. Not quite high enough prayer for Soul Split, but I do have the Deflection curses. Rotation was a standard "do as much damage as physically possible" set, minus Death's Swiftness as I didn't have it then. I do have it now though. I also have the Vampyrism aura.
18 minute kills? I wish. I have T80 armour, T90 weapon, invention perks, overloads, 1000+ kills @ Araxxor, GW1, GW2, etc. Casting vulnerability and using Guthix staff spec but no luck. This is just stupid. It is clearly designed for teams and they didn't scale it down properly for solo mode. The climbing up and down animation leaves almost no time to kill the black crystals and one blob getting near him screws everything. The constant black holes and instant death hands give me carpal tunnel from all the clicking to move around. I died too many times to the 1 hit fake difficulty hands that are so hard to see (skybox graphic settings get reset in the arena, presumably for trolling purposes). 20 minutes going for a kill only to insta die to hands popping out of nowhere is bull plop.
FAILED! Maybe next time. Just attempting in STORY MODE, with maxed character, level 90 gear. Battled for over 3 hours before eventually running out of fire runes. Used up about a dozen sharks too. Just can't get the DPS on the black crystals, and they heal sometimes.
Clive Hill You have to climb down from its back once the goo spawn. After 20 mins of messing up I managed to take out 1 1/2 crystals solo on story. I can run it with you if you’d like since I need this for the quest.
The goo spawn is a big part of the issue. You have to climb back down so soon that you do very little damage to a crystal, and even then they get through some times, which is a large amount of your work undone. So it's taking about 10 minutes to get the health down to a point where you can attack the crystals, then you get about 45 seconds at a crystal, then back to the start again, looking at about 2 hours minimum effort unless you make a slip, which I do, so like I said, I attempted it for over 3 hours, got 2 crystals down and was close to the third when it healed up to full, then hadn't brought enough runes to cover that much grinding away. I need to plan for snacks, fluids and no toilet breaks for about a 4 hour session in order to do this. No small ask.
DONE! Made it today in about 100 minutes. Managed not to let the crystals heal at all, and found that if you stand carefully, close to the crystal but not too close, then you can use dreadnips on them and roughly double the amount of damage you do in the short time you have.
I swear I watch some of your guides and I do everything according even with better gear and I still can't succeed lmao. RuneScape is annoying and overwhelming sometimes
how are you able to do so much dps ????? I am maxed combat......watched your video many times ............does not help to get the fight done I cannot damage crystals even 1 in the time slot Seiryu is down, making it impossible to get done...........damn Jagex for this BS they do on quests all the time now................quests are for maniac pvm only now
I have to say, this may be the worst boss I've ever seen in any video game. Maybe some of it would work better if the mechanics worked as they should, or the game was more responsive, but as it is, I got a massive headache from attempting it, and never managed to even get 2/3rds through. Even with melee, with Berserker aura and Berserk active, I can only do enough damage to be on pace for a 6-cycle. It does seem possible to win like that because when things go well you don't use all that much food, but there's always an issue where a really damaging attack starts hitting you when it doesn't look like it's in range, and your character refuses to move away from it. And the mechanics for jumping on and off are really clunky. You have to try to predict where the camera will wind up so you can immediately start attacking your intended target (since the slightest mistake can result in the boss fully healing), and you can't switch prayers or anything while the animation is happening. It's a complete mess. I just wanted to do all the elite dungeons once for the quest, but this might be a boss I have to give up on. Despite trying it during an event with free death costs and free overloads, I've still probably run through like 5 million in supplies already (if I was paying death costs, I'd be broke 20 times over). I've also used up all of my life refreshes, and I'm not even getting any closer to winning. With melee it seems like the hands coming from the boss do damage before they're even visible sometimes, so that's not really viable. One run he even got an "Uber Heal" long after all of the minions were dead. I can't tell if that's supposed to happen, but it's stupid either way. Really, why would anyone do ED1 solos? I can't actually understand that. Even if you're good at it to not struggle with the bosses, it still seems a lot longer and harder than ED2, and it seems to have much worse drops. --- I'll keep trying while the event is on to see if I can get a kill, but if I can't get one during the event, I'll have to drop the dungeon. It's costly and annoying even without death costs, so it would be absolutely unbearable with them. I'll post an update as a reply to this comment if I get a kill, notice anything new, or give up entirely (probably because the event ended). Editing in this last part: Thanks for the guide, even though I still can't get anywhere near a kill, it's nice to see this boss has a proper guide considering the other two in this dungeon didn't.
So, while I really didn't expect it, figuring that I'd be at it and failing all week, my update here is that I was successful. I probably died about 25 times (I counted 8, but I didn't start counting until quite a ways in), losing a yak full of sharks everytime, and the successful attempt was over 26 minutes long, but I did it. Never going back there again. My last cycles had extremely slow damage on the head because I was rarely attacking, as I was far enough along that I took a very wide berth to dodge every non-auto attack possible. I really didn't want to lose it all at that point. The boss also managed a heal on the last crystal, and I almost cried when I saw that, but it mercifully wasn't a full heal, and I was able to finish it off on the next cycle. And apparently ED3 is supposed to be even harder. Well... I can only wish myself luck. I'm going to need it.
Great guide but if I could make one suggestion it would be to please slow down when you speak because you have a tendency to speak very quickly and slur your words at times, making it very difficult to understand what you are saying.
you make a guide for the lower levels as in low tier equipment, yet tell to bring optionally a planted feet switch???? doubt anyone using a planted feet switch uses low tier gear LOL
All max combat stats, and I still have trouble with Seiryu in story mode.
Mechanics are hard.
Yeah, what a stupid boss! I just killed him for the black stone quest, and I probably won't ever kill him ever again.
I found I learned the boss surprisingly quickly.
Recommends lv 70 magic and range and then sunshine and death swiftness which both need lv 85 magic/range. XD

The soulsplit switch during the breath attack is only there to not reduce the damage taken from protection prayer. If you just don't protect during the breath, you will be able to get the same healing splats.

To be clear, that time was meant for the boss only, not for the whole dungeon. I just did story mode with T80 armour + T90 weapon and it took me 12 minutes.
@@Euroliite I can't even beat it on story mode
For next Runefest I will nominate you for Golden Gnome Ryan. Good Luck and thank you for the amazing guides.
Great guide, you sure did get all the details in a short amount of time. PS: Your inventory is a tiny bit taller than the rest of your lower UI and it's really putting me off! :D
Whats easier for this melee or magic
So this might be a noobish question but ive never done the alinishi dung before, but can i teleport to this boss with the max guild boss portal? Ive seen that i can teleport to the temple itself but not to the boss himself or? And also, can i quit the dungeon and re-enter it without the need of doing evrything all over? Thanks for the guide!
The Boss portal takes you to the entrance of the dungeons. You can tele out to bank and it will save progress and you can teleport to different checkpoints by right clicking the loot chest but can't skip any bosses or checkpoints
Thanks for the guide!
Are drops affected by killing things in the dungeon? Is it worth to kill most things in the dungeon or better to just roll through?
It depends on whether you want dungeoneering exp or not.
what about the first 2 guys? for example these bombs from the first one make solo kills really sketchy because how fast it cycles
Honestly it is probably better to just trio and brute force him for the single kill needed to access the second elite dungeon.
I mean I did it on titan but still
@@ctgreen4995 do you still have problems to solo masuta? the clue is to use devotion wisely
Yes!
can you reach this point with that low level gear as well? I mean clearing the rest of the dungeon
Ryan! When is your road to comp cape series coming? Looking forward to it 👍
How come you don't have to use runes?
How many kills ph did you do with this setup?
Can you make a guide for the other 2 bosses too
Im using tier 80 gear with lvl 99 magic, auras, potions, and damage familiar, AND on story mode, and I still can't beat it. Im surviving at least 3 cycles but for some reason my dps is so low and its taking forever to even destroy one crystal.....
do the drops of scales differ from solo, duo and trio?
In solo you can get anywhere from 4 scales to close to 200 in one kill. Duo and trio is a lot less
How do you get so much dps on crystals tho :/ it’s probs partly because full manual right?
just a knowladge of how to do rotations and full manual yea
Oka thanks for telling me how to actually jump-- I will use Death Darts on the Black Stones.
how tf do you kill shadow blobs so quickly wtf i use ricochet and it only targets like half of them
Wish i could solo or even duo the first and second boss....
yoyo18072 solo Sanctum is shitty if you're not in maxed gear since its a dps race against his purple smoke which can stack up annoying quickly.
You: Full boss fight takes 15-16 Minutes
Me: Cant even DPS it down 100K in 30 Minutes -.-
Thanks man!
Soloing in story mode, don't know about that full boogie yet. 0.o
Easy when you know what your doing. I died after an hour and still couldnt get past the 1st crystal. Had a full invent of saradomin brews.
nice clear voice
I need to learn abilities rotations now lol
Kaido's dragon based on this mythical crewture
story mode should be the best to practice res and side steps.
Miss your vids man! I need a lot of help with bosses!
Wow. Zaryte Bow, Armadyl armour, tons of food and prayer potions, 94 Ranged and Defense...
I can barely scratch the crystals.
Prayers? Overloads? Also stats and gear are useless if your rotation is bad
Solak guide???
And here I am maxed cb with tier 90 armour and weapons and cant get past guardian. GG
asylum surgeons ring is 85 def req compared to your skeleton req
should have worn a ring of fortune or smth
The RS Guy smh the thought was there xd
says 70+ in mage in ranged but you need 85 in either for the ult lul
other than that nice guide ryan
Lol you can do it in low tier gear because you have max combat and other items/flasks/overloads etc to help carry you otherwise.
He wasn't using overloads in the video :) Just some basic pots you can buy off the ge!
you also killed raxx with a rune halberd and no armor so... you doin this with t70s scares me
Kbd guide pl
Bro you talk so fast i put all your videos at 0.75% speed to make you sound semi normal but great job regardless!!
rn this is fastest way to a bond
6m later in death cost dying in a trio
7m and 4 hours with nothing
i feel this too much
Annyone want to help me run trough this boss? (i only use legacy)
ryan teach me to boss please
I swear I watch some of your guides and I do everything according even with better gear and I still can't succeed lmao. RuneScape is annoying and overwhelming sometimes
whens the telos guide :kappa:
Damn 30 mins late. I’ll do better on next time ryan. Nice guide.
how are you able to do so much dps ????? I am maxed combat......watched your video many times ............does not help to get the fight done
I cannot damage crystals even 1 in the time slot Seiryu is down, making it impossible to get done...........damn Jagex for this BS they do on quests
all the time now................quests are for maniac pvm only now
Took me 25 minutes dude what the hell
Just for a giggle watch one of your vids and get ads for buying runescape gold.
Who has onslaught at T75 lmao
met you other day in game
pls help
---
I'll keep trying while the event is on to see if I can get a kill, but if I can't get one during the event, I'll have to drop the dungeon.
I'm going to need it.
lol world wakes isn`t a begginer quest or something that at lvl 70 you can do... so wrong title bro.... also you all +99 .....
You can do world wakes at 70 all stats, it's a grandmaster quest but it has no requirements
outside of lvl 100 combat ;D
Great video but that music is awful
Great guide but if I could make one suggestion it would be to please slow down when you speak because you have a tendency to speak very quickly and slur your words at times, making it very difficult to understand what you are saying.
You sound very cute haha
bro the damn blobs are so cheap
you make a guide for the lower levels as in low tier equipment, yet tell to bring optionally a planted feet switch???? doubt anyone using a planted feet switch uses low tier gear LOL
optional i.e bring it if you have it. I wasn't using any perked stuff in the example kill in the video :)
