If you all really want to be on the top of the 1911 production gun market all that you need to do is offer most of your models in 70 series. Tons of people pass up most all of colts line because it has that lousy 80 series trigger system. People want simplier, easier, less parts.
Can't drive that into the young guys, they'll spend 6 or 7 hundred on some rock island loaded thing but not 2 more on something that will at least give you your money back
Just received my stainless steel classic and love it !!! Have a question though, there are streaks and haze (I guess maybe from laser engraving?) on the stainless slide around all of the left side wording and the horse. I tried normal cleaning but it doesn't take it off. I need to know the best way to clean it off. I don't want to screw up the otherwise perfect finish on this beautiful firearm so I though I would try to get advise straight from the horses mouth :)
The same condition exists on the O1911SS Classic I just purchased. Not a deal breaker but I too would like to clean away the smears if it can be done safely. I saw another video on this sight where a minor scratch could be removed from the brushed side surface of the slide using a maroon scotchbrite pad, so maybe this will remove the smears, but don't take my advice... It will be best to get the solution directly from Colt if you are worried about the Scotchbrite making the finish around the rollmarks worse. I'm leaving mine alone for now.
Did you guys discontinue the Colt 1991? Was looking to pick one of those up..I think it had the best combination of attributes for those who are not necessarily looking for a complete war time replica but want older style 1991 with updated features. (Sights, lower ejection port etc)
Yeah I think they dropped the 1991 billboard name. But the base models colt is selling now for around $900 are essentially what you're looking for. In both the series 70 and series 80 styles in both blued and stainless.
I'm glad I got my Colt Series 80's in California before they were no longer allowed. Would buy this model right now if I could but probably not in the stars.
Justin, thank you (and Colt) for putting the Classic into production! Are the slide markings actual "rollmarks" or is it laser engraved? If they are laser engraved now, will Colt be transitioning to actual rollmark engraving? I would like to purchase one, so thank you for addressing this!
These are re uploaded videos. Come on Colt. Why do you think consumers are so stupid? You put about as much effort into your TH-cam channel as you do your firearms these days. Make Colt great again!
Steven i own Colts. Thats why it irritates me to see them continuously going down this same path of failure. Colt fanboys are like Tesla owners. Easily offended and so defensive
Steven Thanks for keeping track of my comments. Do you work at Colt or are they paying you to make comments on their re uploaded videos? Ever heard the term “rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic”? Because thats what’s going on at Colt. I want to see them succeed. Unfortunately the people running it now are out of touch. Plain and simple. And people like you just keep stoking the flames. Colt: Introducing the New Turd On A Plate Model! You: Gotta have it!
I like it! I can vouch for the Colt bluing on there guns is very nice. I would like to have a blued Colt New Agent however I think they have been dropped.
just bought a Colt NM Gold Cup 9mm and I'm kinda disappointed with the frame-slide fit...the gun rattles a lot compared with my old Colt made in 1959 which is tighter...is that the way Gold Cups were built?....
So this is basically 70s series 1911 with pre 70s slide markings and flat mainspring housing. Question: what was the point to discontinue 70s series reissue in 2018 with this? Like you said "it's not designed to be a throwback to any specific model of 1911". So you took something Colt Original and replaced it with this mix of parts?? What's the purpose of this marketing move?? Also talking about slide markings, can you guys change "Colt Custom" stamp on your Royal Blue 1911 Classic, it looks really really really ugly, just leave it blank .....
I’ve never owned a 1911, but this model is one I’d definitely like to get. I really like the classic look!
Yes, Me too
The legend lives on...

I replaced the grips, trigger, hammer, thumb safety, slide stop and mainspring housing with original A1 parts. It’s absolutely beautiful.
Very cool! I'd love to see a pic of that!

My favorite pistol
Any Colt 1911 is a classic!
Best regards from Idaho
I think this is sort of an homage to the original models from before WW2.
Can't drive that into the young guys, they'll spend 6 or 7 hundred on some rock island loaded thing but not 2 more on something that will at least give you your money back
Looove my Colt Classic. Wish I could have several.
How well does the bluing hold up? Would like a nitride 1911.
I like this 1911 just the way it is. I prefer the old school plain jane look.
*installed a flgr with the flat spring a wide paddle grip safety & a raised main spring housing on mine... fired 50 rounds so far so good
Price?
Will Colt bring back the Single Action Army?
I just got a three inch
King Cobra it's great
Like it a lot 👍
They still make the single action it's just allocated and hard to get unless you look on gunbroker etc
I got mine for 795 at buds
Changed out the flat mainspring for a arched, different grips, that’s all I did for mine....
Looks like my Gold Cup National Match. What is the difference beside the slide serrations?

Will there be a 8 inch model of the phyton?

From what I've seen this is pretty close to what you are looking for. They are priced right too. Check Buds Guns for price.

I have the 01092 9mm stainless one that is a great shooter
So
Nice, but what i Colt doing about The New Pythons? I want one. But I want one that works Reliably! What is up with the New Pythons? Recall?
I'm glad I got my Colt Series 80's in California before they were no longer allowed. Would buy this model right now if I could but probably not in the stars.
I still have one of the oops blued govt models where it's a 5" but roll marked as commander still in the box
Excellent!
When will Colt have a optic ready 1911?
Get the rmr dovetail mount, they work great
Where can we find one?

Would you explain the differences in the various Series of 1911's
Why are you uploading old videos?! This one is from 8 months back, i checked. Whatever happened to Colt.
I like them royalblue please.
These are re uploaded videos. Come on Colt. Why do you think consumers are so stupid? You put about as much effort into your TH-cam channel as you do your firearms these days. Make Colt great again!
Solid Snake I’ve got 3 colt 1911’s, all 3 are flawless. You’re right about the videos they upload though.
Steven i own Colts. Thats why it irritates me to see them continuously going down this same path of failure. Colt fanboys are like Tesla owners. Easily offended and so defensive
Steven the delta elite is next on my list.

Steven Layaway? Whats the matter, you cant afford to pay straight out Mr Money Bags.
Nice 👍
I need more 10mms 1911, other options in the work?
I like it! I can vouch for the Colt bluing on there guns is very nice. I would like to have a blued Colt New Agent however I think they have been dropped.
Don't need a 1911 but always wanted one and if I got one it would this classic look
just so basic its great
Simplicity people.
Please bring back the WMK 01911
just bought a Colt NM Gold Cup 9mm and I'm kinda disappointed with the frame-slide fit...the gun rattles a lot compared with my old Colt made in 1959 which is tighter...is that the way Gold Cups were built?....
I know right, I have the new competition and a stainless 9mm and my old blued 9mm and 38 supers are tighter
Is it legal in California?
He says they’ll answer our questions. Has anyone actually got a comment back???
He said the answers would be in a weekly Tuesday FAQ. I'm hoping to see more then. :-)
Come out with some new videos and what's going with the pythons
Nothing going on with the Pythons....but here is the latest. www.fieldandstream.com/story/guns/is-there-really-a-recall-on-the-colt-python/
You are amazing
Does Colt still design classic 1911?
So this is basically 70s series 1911 with pre 70s slide markings and flat mainspring housing. Question: what was the point to discontinue 70s series reissue in 2018 with this?
