- What is a Pavé flower arrangement?
How can I learn to make one?
Pavé jewellery has grown increasingly popular as a top choice for many jewellery settings and styles. It's characterized by very small gemstones that are set so close together that the surface appears to lack metal holding the stones in place. This style has been adopted in to floral design for a way to position your cut flowers low down in an arrangement, knitted together to form a pattern replicating the style of jewellery making.
This arrangement follows patterns and structure to make a formal design with a soft subtle colour scheme, its been arranged to be viewed from all round and is ideal for the centre of a table. This style can be used for dinner parties, wedding table centres or for the centre of a coffee table.
If you are new to arranging, take a few minutes to view my Back to Basics series which will explain how to create a very all round arrangement using a minimal amount of flowers.

Brilliant, love the wood on the outside of container. Great idea to use up small offcuts of foam, that I keep but it is never enough to do anything with. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks Sue
Another lovely idea which I hope to copy. A good design for a low coffee table.. Many thanks, a nice video to watch ona gloomy morning here in East Sussex
Thank you! Cheers! Its a gloomy day here too! Can't wait for a bit of sunshine.
Hi, I'm in Tasmania, Australia. That's lovely, thanks Sharon.
You’re welcome 😊
From very cold and snowy British Columbia Canada, good morning and thanks for doing a great pave with left over blooms and dried gypsophila. It is stunning especially due to you collage of bark
I'm glad so many people enjoyed this video as I didn't think people would be too impressed! Thanks for watching
Another lovely design. Thankyou
My pleasure 😊
Love the arrangement!
Thanks for watching
Thanks for another interesting design. I’d not heard of floral fibre until I watched a lady using it the other day. I did ask if it was Agra wool but apparently not. Her tip when using it was to soak it and then place it in a compostable bag before placing flowers into it. 🤷♀️
Hi Angela - essentially they are the same product but by different companies, the questionable part is the word Biodegradable as neither are but they will reduce down to fine dust.
@@sharondower Oh right, I did wonder. Thanks, Sharon.
@@angelapalmer7326 as the Oasis brand is a more recognised, they have more visibility in the industry. Agrawool is produced by a smaller company
beautiful. Thank you
Thank you too!
Beautiful, from Northern California!!
Thank you very much!
A nice centerpiece that you can place anywhere, a nice way to use unused flowers from another centerpiece.⭐️👍😊
Thanks so much 😊
Gorgeous
Thanks Hannah
Gorgeous 🥰
Thank you! 🤗
Very nice thanks
Thank you too!
Hi Sharon what a beautiful design. The added bark covers the tray beautifully adding to the many textures. It was good to see so many different blooms used in the pave design. I just wondered whether you done this when paving funeral flowers as they tend to be double chrysanthemums used in basing? Thanks 😊
Yes I've done lots of this type of work over the years although we tend to call it grouping and texturing in the commercial floristry world. Its one of my favourite ways of creating a based funeral tribute.
So happy to see there are foam alternatives, even if slightly better sustainably. I like this style and love the bark base. My bride wants airy, delicate arrangements for here September wedding. Thinking of using the Pave as a base and floating whispy stems of different lengths above. Wondering what that might be like. Better with greenery below? I have no idea what varieties will be in season here in California that give the look of a dancing poppy. Much research to do. Thanks so much Sharon!
You are so welcome! Keep practising, you'll get then in the end
Such a lovely arrangement.. loved loved it.
Thanks for watching 🤩
Beautiful arrangement Sharon, the bark adds so much interests….and it’s free🎉 the dried gyp is lovely ….could you maybe highlight other flower/foliage that you find dries easily at home .. thanks again for all the stuff you are sharing…❤
Great idea! I'm planning a Q and A video, so I will answer that question on another video. If there are other questions, keep them coming
Hi, what type of container was the bark glued to?
There is a photo of it about 45 second in.
Oops. I've just looked again.
