Been thinking of buying one and i kinda like the idea of future/modern from 2025. My question is why does this apear to be much more complex and intricate than 2025.
hi there! Global War 2025 Meltdown is designed to be a much simpler game, more a "beer and pretzels" style. Global War 1985 is similar to Global War 1914 and Global War 1936 in complexity.
Oh cool. I think maybe "beer and pretzels" might be for me. Maybe more closer in complexity to original A&A? I do absolutely love the aesthetic of the 1985 map though. It looks like it's almost lit up from underneath like a battle board on a fictitious command center somewhere.
Hi! New to your board game products. One question I had was whether everything required to play available to purchase in one large set or whether things need to be purchased separately? Regards.
Hi Daniel. So, just want to say up front, I designed Global War 1985 but I do not represent HBG from a game production standpoint. That said, I do believe they intend to make some packs that make it easier to purchase everything all at once. As a purchaser of HBG products myself, I find a lot of the fun is buying the units you want to use and then customizing them to use in your own game. I resisted this at first, but found that it's a lot of fun and rewarding to do. Hope this helps!
Note that HBG is planning to do some 85 specific task force plates - but the ones you saw are available here: www.historicalboardgaming.com/HBG-Naval-Task-Force-Generic-12set_p_3390.html

I would love to get this but the cost and complex nature are holding me back
