As I watched I was thinking of the video where you and Senior pulled her weathered bones from behind someone's garage. What a great journey it has been.
Excellent, thanks Sr, for stepping in on the narration, what a great day, so awesome to see these machines still working that built this country so many years ago.
Uh huh! As a boy, I was the wheel "man" on the grader at home. Thank you whoever repeatedly for letting the young fellow give it a go! Yes, how'd 5J113 fare?
😅 LOL, 6:30, SQUATCH253 with a CAT CAP on his Noggin, uses his Hand to a Sun visor... HE is having a Ho-down of a time... Thanks, I'll watch this 3-4 times, Senior... Well done.
Where is the rock crusher?? You got that pile of stones out there and some neat old trash. Make a crushed rock driveway! Would be very satisfying. Love your show!!
So cool, she looks and sounds right at home dragging that thing around. Nice to see her stretch her legs, or rather, her tracks. Great vid, thanks for sharing. Thanks to Senior for the nice camera work too 🙂
Fantastic to see 1113 working so hard and in doing so proving what an excellent job you’ve done rebuilding her, thank you Senior for a great piece of film work and narration.
A few moments when the tracks aren't quite wide enough! Looks like you were really having fun. Oh, and hat's off to Senior for the Squatching down commentary
Great video Squatch! It sure is great to see the Swamp Angle putting in some work. And it's sounding great! Thanks for doing the camera work Senior. Cheers
Great to finally get to meet you and SR on Saturday and see the Swamp Angle and all the hard work you’ve done. I even made it in the video! She sure sounds good. Thanks for the video Toby. My son was sad he couldn’t come this weekend being it was his weekend with his mom. He wanted to meet Sasquatch as he says. Are you going to put the decals on the Swamp Angel? Thanks again and can’t wait to see what comes next
@@squatch253 I completely understand that. It really is a great piece of equipment the way it is right now. Would be cool to do some distressed decals for it as well but looks great like it is. Can’t wait for the video wrap up to see how you thought it performed and what you think of it. I’ve never driven a CAT and would be fun sometime. I don’t really have the space to have one to use it like it should be used. Maybe I’ll bring a tractor next year if I come up again. 5 hour drive for me but it is a great show to see with lots going on
I know how i feel whenever i get to play with something i've worked on for a while, and i bet Squatch feels the same, probably more. :) 5J1113 is one heck of a beast. Also, excellent narration work from Sr.!!! Always a welcome voice to hear.
it is cool seeing the D2 in action on our family farm my grandpa graded the roads around our farm years ago using a grader similar to the one the D2 was pulling it was an adams an i remember it had hard rubber tires on it and pulled it with a oliver 80 standard
Thanks for the excellent video's of you guys playing in the sand box at the Nowthen Threshing Show. I feel really bad that I didn't find that spot but the video's by you and senior did also made it seem like I was there. Thanks again for a great commentary and video's
5quatch: What a great series of videos. Usually at a meet the video is a walking narrative showing as many vehicles or tractors as possible. You stopped and featured one tractor or cat at a time, pointing out what you thought that made them special. I do not collect heavy equipment or wheel tractors but I have especially enjoyed your presentation of special antique tractors and cats. Thank you, David Adair
@ 0:42 I see Slobbering around the stack clamp, mine does it too and was rebuilt by a Cat Dealer. "Diesels have no vacuum" but D2 does with their restricted air intake system starting at the oil bath cleaner and chocking down through the intake pipe from cleaner to intake manifold. Imagine the cylinder vacuum-low pressure during intake, that choked restriction vacuum within the cylinder will draw oil through valve guides and rings potentially being the cause of slobbering. May be running it with an open manifold (and K&N filter) to test will confirm the theory... A Turbo for sure will put Positive pressure no vacuum within the cylinder during intake and not draw oil.
Towards end of video it was oddly cool to see 6’ 2” Squatch in a small D2 meeting that Cat 35 operated by a youngster not even 5’ tall, the whole video was spot on. Squatch Sr. did excellent job. Always thanks.
That's exactly what that thing needed. Wish I was there to see it. Did it accomplish the mission? Or will we see more content pulling a 212 grader around the 40?
#5J1113 looks right smart with those wider pads on. Looks just a little short of snowcat width but certainly enough for swamp and marsh bogs. Not gonna lie about it, had doubts about it back when the tracks were being pin and bushing turned. Thought it might look a bit like it was wearing clown shoes in a way. But In good light and in the field, actually looks good with those on.
there is a tow behind grader over twice that size with original steal wheels in parry sound ontario. I figure it would have been pulled by large high torque steam tractors.
Good to have you on the camera again. I hope it didn't get to hot for you on Saturday, I know that it wasn't too bad when we left around 11:00am. How did it go with the grader? Were you able to get it hot enough to clean it up and then get it to wear in?
Looked like the grader operator was a little too aggressive with the blade. Some thinner passes might have been better. Great fun video! Perfect finish to my 115 degree day.
Is the radiator blocked specifically to run hot for break-in? I imagine that wasn't a cool day, and she was running hard. Very nice to watch such a long anticipated payoff!
Exactly what model grader was that. We used to pull that exact version with our Twenty. Kept our 1/3 of a mile long driveway washboard free and filled the ruts after rainstorms. I always thought it was a model 15 grader. Ours used to belong to the ventura county road department in California.
@@squatch253 Thank you. I would have thought just the opposite considering the front steering on the grader. Now I understand the wear you show in various bars.
Nice to hear Sr at the controls. I don’t know how long you were playing in the sandbox but that grader had what it takes to give the D2 the workout she needed. She should be GTG by the time the next plow day rolls around. I wish you continued success. 🥸👍👀✅
Nice! It really is a joy seeing it working now after watching it being rebuilt to the last nut and bolt over the years.
As I watched I was thinking of the video where you and Senior pulled her weathered bones from behind someone's garage. What a great journey it has been.
Good to see the D-2 stretching her legs. Those wide track pads sure do make her look like one tough old girl!
Excellent, thanks Sr, for stepping in on the narration, what a great day, so awesome to see these machines still working that built this country so many years ago.
The Swamp Angel came through!! The engine was sounding great!
It's good to see the kids learning how to operate the machines. Great narration Senior!

Commentary from Sr, great video!!
Great video Squatch! It sure is great to see the Swamp Angle putting in some work. And it's sounding great! Thanks for doing the camera work Senior. Cheers
I pulled Grandfather's 4 horse blade with a 445 Minneapolis Moline. He stood on the back running the blade. Great memories from the 60s.
Great to see the Cat at work after a complete rebuild. The guy on the grader may need a complete rebuild after running that thing! Wow, what a job.
Awesome footage! The old swamp angel sounds great! We need Sr. To film and commentate more often!

Swamp Angel finally gets a good shakedown. She sounds amazing, and she's got some torque.
Loving the voice-over, Sr.
Little d2 needs another thousand pounds to keep from scratching for traction. 😎

That was awesome hoped she got good and warmed up. The feller on the grader needs to pay attention.
Making some deep cuts there! The Swamp Angel sure sounds nice!
It would be fun to compare the D2 to your RD6 on this grader. That big grader is quite the load for your D2.
Squatch getting to enjoy the results of his hard work and dedication. That is awesome.
2:42 there's that CAT 35 working
Those wide tracks helped on pulling the grader, you was squashing down according Sr...Lol...Great Video Guys.
We where at now than Saturday gransons love the toy drag line at the Caterpillar display
Such a healthy motor. Way to go!

My Dad and I had his stepfather’s 5J that he bought brand new. I used it mostly for pumping water. It’s in a museum now.
Very cool! That old D2 sure does have some pulling power!
Come for the the content, stay for Senior's Commentary
Great video thank you Senior 👍 i could listen to that engine barking all day she sounded amazing 👌

Great work out 💪 I can see the pride in your face 👍🇺🇸😃
Hello. I see what you were saying about the traffic, can’t keep a good hard pull. She’s gonna have to go on the disk on plow day…..😊
Who knew Jon could be so helpful?!?!
Big boys playing in the dirt. Lots of fun!!!

I love seeing old Iron running its tracks off! 😁
She's got a real good bark to her! Handled that grader pretty well!
That's exactly what that thing needed. Wish I was there to see it. Did it accomplish the mission? Or will we see more content pulling a 212 grader around the 40?
I have a baker fan that will make her work
Great seeing old iron work!
Well if that is not a work out then I will not see one, well done Tobie
The grader looks like it is a great piece of equipment for breaking in motors!!
Getting some serious work out and seems the smoke cleared out once the heavy load hit the engine.
Thanks for Squatching!
Great video thanks for sharing perfect camera work Sr thank you
Gave the old girl a workout!!
That ought to seat them rings

Nice to see the D2 working! Fantastic saga.
That will help seat those rings.
Nice thermostat on the front of radiator---real MN
Amazing little Cat!
Running a grader can be a handful... two operators got to be in sync.....
great to see interest in the younger generations.
'ol 1113 got her work out today

I can see that baby pulling that 4 bottom plow on the next plow day. I bet she would be well broken in after a day of plowing.
Nice to see 1113 working hard.
She was getting some good pulls in. How long did you get to run it?
Looked like the grader operator was a little too aggressive with the blade. Some thinner passes might have been better. Great fun video! Perfect finish to my 115 degree day.
@@squatch253 I missed that
Interesting to see such a combination, after LD18 and his self-powered and self-managed grader :-)
Just did. Sleeves and pistons on my D7C17A fixing pony motor now
It's good to hear the old girl beller work her hard..
Damn that was impressive
Is the radiator blocked specifically to run hot for break-in? I imagine that wasn't a cool day, and she was running hard. Very nice to watch such a long anticipated payoff!
Have you ever explained how that road grader works? Do the operators wheels lift the blade?
She looks well pulling hard with rthose wide tracks
Excellent video it's nice to see the swamp angel out grunting away and working hard
is that a train coupler pin in the drawbar?
I need more!
Little bugger pulls pretty damm good.
Maybe now that the engine is fully broken in it is running right. Can you do a video after the show and let us know if it is
so the answer was , YES
How cool is that?

Do you miss working at the Ford dealership?
@@squatch253 I hear you only worked a short time at a dealership and didn't like it.
I noticed the draw bar was not locked in place but allowed to swivel. Why is that?
@@squatch253 Thank you. I would have thought just the opposite considering the front steering on the grader. Now I understand the wear you show in various bars.
What is the name of this machine that the tractor pulls, and is there a video of it?
❤️👍🤗
I don't know who the guy was it hooked up on your hitch he must not like his fingers very well
#44 Grader?
Sounds like the pop has disappeared. At least I didn't hear it. Quite the traffic jam!
He found the problem - it was a bad injector. Replaced. :D
@@selkiemaine right but in the episode it was suggested we wouldn't know for sure until we wound it up.
