Japan was able to force USA squad until 5th set. That's completely amazing. For the longest time that they are facing in any world tournament, USA would always defeat Japan in 3 set, or sometimes in 4 sets. But this time, Japan showed how promising they are. 👏👏👏
You have to consider that this match was between Japan's B team and USA's C team. Idk how is that promising.
@@HelloWorld-ev9sg lol yh, vnl is always a tournament where they experiment with teams, still tho the comment didn't lie, usually this would be 3-0, was very fun to see it go down to the wire. Ensing definitely has the potential to replace Anderson once he retires, and Miyaura has shown growth.
@@HelloWorld-ev9sg In retrospect, Japan’s players and established Team A are a lot younger and less experienced than USA’s A team and they reformed quite a bit over the past years. It’s pretty obvious that the USA coach is preparing this squad to become the future key players? They’re doing extremely well, so you don’t need to feel so defensive bc nobody is downplaying them lol
I swear everytime someone compliments Japan’s performance, there will be USA defenders in the replies LOL, the same thing happened w the women’s teams 💀

Japan has done it so well against Team USA. The players in this match for Team Japan were mostly rookies but displayed tenacity and mental strength. They put up a great fight taking it into a 5-setter intense game. Congratulations Team USA. Keep improving Team Japan! We're all proud of you guys. 🎌💪
The USA team was also not the Team A because there was no Holt, Anderson, Cristenson, Sander, but it was a great match

RAN WAS BEING CLUTCH DURING 4TH SET.
The Japanese defense is INCREDIBLE while the US had a strong OFFENSE.

Japan hasn't done this well against a big team like USA in a while, hopefully the next time they can secure the win.

I had to rewatch that receive at 0:34 a couple of times over, no spin, right to the setter, borderline perfect.
What an amazing game.. not the actual line up for Japan but still made it to 5th set. Nishida did not play but still Miyaura did a good a job..

負けだけど、アメリカ相手にフルセットまで持ち込んで勝ち点1取れたのは大きかったですねえ、この勝ち点1点が8位以内にいけるのか否か左右されますから。次もイランの難敵ですが、ラウンド1は勝ち越せるといいですねえ
Japan really showed off great play against the USA. Really intense game!! Also, RAN!! he's being targeted the whole game to limit his attacks but he still showed an amazing performance throughout. I applaud his mental stability and Im very proud of our youngest. You can see on the last set that he is already exhausted from receiving those heavy serves and attacks. Hope he can rest very well before the next match against Iran.
It's normal for the youngest/newcomer in a team to be targeted by opponent teams,i remember YUKI when he debut at 18 in NT he targeted by strong serves/attack's the whole tournament and still continued for year's.
Hebis good at reception and is used to be targeted but may be tired from all the previous matches including a friendship match with Brasil.

全体的にミドルの数が少ないイメージだったのも、この結果かもしれない。
それでも、フロアディフェンスは諦めない姿勢だし、攻めるところはちゃんと攻めてた。

it was so intense! seriously. it feels like my heart just beats every time they score a point. Japan team they were amazingly tough in defending the game, after lose at the second and third sets, I felt quite sad, it would be hard to break through the defense of the USA team, but it turned out that the Japanese team was able to catch up by scoring one point after another, and so did the USA team. (WOOH! I still even feel the voltage today.) And in the end the smash hit from Ran Takahasi was like a gift, in my eyes he was like flying while swinging a ball hit at super speed, and he made it!! and games with 5 sets happened today! How happy it is! Japan Team is adorable!

Eu fui nesse jogo pelo Brasília vôlei, gritei muito, muito sai de lá 8 horas da noite, o estádio todo torcendo pro Japão, a sensação de voltar rouca pra casa foi incrível, se um dia puderem ir recomendo

He only started to play from set 4 before that he was just subbed in for once or twice for otsuka and ran,
Imma bite the bullet and disagree with this, I've been following his performance in Milano last season, I'm sure he has more to offer and can perform better. I suspect something's not so right and they're fixing it

Both played really well, but in 5th set I think Japan was able to build up their game like in the 4th set. USA has the momentum to win this leg.

Congratulations, Team USA 🇺🇸 Love the blocks and spikes (Jendryk, Smith, Russell and Ensing) as well as the defense. I believe the USA setter ( Tuaniga, if I'm not mistaken) can do better and maybe closer to Christenson plays someday. I think this lineup needs to develop more synergy. Hope to see Patch play for team USA again. I miss Anderson, Sander, Holt and Shoji. Keep it up, Team USA 💪
Japan were doing really well in the first set. Wonder what happened
They did win game 4 and it was a five set match so it's not like they collapsed. The USA is a perennial top 5 squad and Japan is just behind that a few notches and seems to be getting better so this was about what i expected from both teams.
At the start the US had really weak blocks, you see in the video that whenever the hit goes into the blocks it always goes into a “one touch” however from the second set onwards the US had incredibly solid blocks completely destroying japans Rhythm until the fourth set where both teams where even. Great match!
I should also add that Japan is still 100% probably the weaker team over all and not fully equal
No nishida, but miyaura is good too. I hope RAN is well, he had a little injured at 5th set.

I'm japanese volley ball player, I played volleyball with Otsuka only once. His spike is so sharp, above all he is very very kind!!! I am cheering him FOREVER

You can see Japan's out of their system in 4th to 5th. They're scrambling a lot. Less to no pressure on the net and relying only on the floor. But for me this is a good move from the Coach, new Opp-Setter is one of many reasons they were able to play up to the 5th.
