Don't let my name scare you. Lane, Thank you for this series. I am a 67 yo brand new preacher. Yes, you can serve the Lord later in life! I have recently answered the call and I found this series by accident. However, It has answered so many questions I have had on "How to correctly prepare" a sermon. With only 3 messages under my belt, I now have a solid base with which to prepare my next sermon. Thank you for being faithful to preparing other in ministry. God bless you and your work.
Very helpful...clear, coherent and relevant. You are doing the kingdom of God an important service. Be true to the passion and by the grace of our LORD JESUS, continue in this spiritual work.
Hi I am new to being a preacher, and I really didn't know where to start. I believe it is a calling that is in my heart since I was small. I am so glad that I came across your videos and is looking forward to watch the rest of it. Blessings
I know that "to experience lasting worry" was a slip, but I am using it! I have preached Philippians so many times, your slip up will make a creative approach to the well known passage (Phil 4:4-8). HOW TO LIVE IN CONSTANT WORRY. 1. Forget to rejoice, 2. Don't be reasonable etc. LOL! I will take a previous sermon and completely reverse it! That will hit home! Thanks for the vids. Your doing a great job at approaching classic ideas in fresh ways. I have added your books to my reading list. God bless you!
Lane, thank you so very much for creating this video series on how to write sermons. I am preaching this Sunday and your expertise has helped me immensely with the sermon creation process. You rock!!
Man I pray this helps me. I’ve been a youth pastor for 5 years and now I’m a associate pastor. Feeling like I need to grow up with my messages. It’s hard getting adults to move cookies from their forehead to their mouth on a Sunday morning. Thanks again
Hello pastor Lane. Thank you so much for this sermon uplifting nuggets. I have been searching for power informations and techniques on how to prepares expository sermon this for the past 4 years so as to improve my preaching method. By the grace of God I finally found my way here. I am very happy for the good works please keep it up. This is a very useful site for ministers of the gospel. God bless you sir...
I have subscribed. I am gleaning tons here. All the stuff that I know (technically) but have had difficulty launching. Burn-out happens and you get on a treadmill and without a solid framework for building a message you make the problem worse...exponentially. Each week gets worse and worse. This is great material to bring me back to the right place for starting over. Almost like resetting the CPU on a computer. Here are the basics. Run with them. Thanks Lane. PS--Which of the books should be first (after Hendrick's Living by the Book) Preaching Killer Sermons or Becoming a Preaching Ninja?
Mike, thanks so much! Really appreciate your kind words and I'm so glad it's helpful! I'd start with Preaching Killer Sermons. Great to have you on board!
So glad to hear you're liking the book! I'm working on a eval form and will have it out soon. Thanks! Also, please consider leaving a review on amazon for the book. I would very much appreciate that! Thank you!
This past summer my pastor seemed to be reading a lot off his notes during preaching. I googled searched the title of message and found his message online that was written by someone else, so he plagiarized his message. What is your thoughts on plagiarism?
What about topical sermons? Can you still personalize the outline even if you're not in one book/passage of the bible? I'm still trying to work out my bottom line and would need some help. My sermon topic is "What's up with sex?" but I'm using various scriptures.
Caldon Charles great question! Principle still applies. When using various texts, you can still build tension and then point to the texts as the answer to the tension. Works much the same whether topical or focused on a particular passage.
@@PreachingDonkey preaching is exposition, not presentation. Spurgeon's 'letters to my students' would teach you that if you vacated the mirror long enough to see beyond your flash fame and passing popularity.

So glad to hear you're liking the book! I'm working on a eval form and will have it out soon. Thanks! Also, please consider leaving a review on amazon for the book. I would very much appreciate that! Thank you!

Wow why so much irrelevant talking ...saying the same thing over and over again...just annoying
The hook? It's an exposition dude, not a show. Go to The Master's Seminary and learn something; lest you defile His Word.
How's the air up there on your high horse? Thin I would assume.

Who is Spurgeon? I'm unfamiliar. Whoever she is, I'm sure she's gangster.
