This video provides clearer information than the product packaging. Some people have commented they intend to use it to seal a rim leak. The packaging says for tread tread area leaks only. It will not fix rim & sidewall leaks.
Yes yes yes. Someone trying to really help. Hats off to you I had purchased the slime but couldn't get it to come out. Know I know why. 1. Very understanding 2. To the point 3. No puffin 4. Extremely helpful Keep them coming
I was using the same product and we couldn’t figure out how to get the slime in cause for some reason it wouldn’t squeeze out. It worked after using the tool, we didn’t realize the thing at 2:08 needed to be removed. Thank you so much for posting this, it was a great help🙌🏼
Oddly enough it's the same machine I'll be doing this on. It's my father in law's old riding mower that I use to cut my mother in laws lawn with since his passing. Getting tired of bringing the compressor with me each week lol. Thanks for the video, especially the week later follow up to confirm.
I have the exact same problem with my craftsman mower.....but since Sears is no longer around in my area, and I could not find a suitable replacement wheel/tire online, I will try Slime! Thanks for the video!
Cool! Have never heard of slime tire sealant. My husband bought a used lawnmower just for the tires and parts. It was $90. He combined his Mom's lawn mower and it together and we got the back tires. This seems like a better product than other tire sealants. Thanks for another great video. 😃
What If the lawn mower tire is completely flat. Should I put some air in the tire , then put the sealant in the tire then run the tire around? Thank you in advance
Bought 2 Slime tubes They come with Slime in them. Completely useless in a tube. Wont seal a Thorne puncture Works better in a tubeless tire but dont last as long as I would like. The valve core remover in the plastic cap usually strips out. Good to have a metal one handy.
Don't use the plastic valve remover! I had a slightly stubborn valve and the plastic broke inside the valve. I had to slowly pick out the bits of plastic so that I could use my METAL valve stem remover. It took a while and was as annoying as all hell! You've been warned
You mean do you use the plastic one just be careful, and if it doesn't work then use the metal one. I thought you were going to say it destroys the valve and now even a metal one won't work. If all you have is that plastic one for now, use it. If your valve is old and Rusty spray first with some oil or WD-40. Then try using the plastic cap. This guy is afraid of plastic or failure or something 😢
@@Wu-Tang4ever84 that sounds like good advice with the spray but nah bro I used the plastic and it broke off and I just got me a 5 dollar valve remover it was a metal piece but yea
Thanks for the video. I bought some slime to put in my John Deere zero turn tire, but damaged the core removal tool while trying to remove the core…couldn’t get the core out. I guess I’ll have to use needle nose pliers.
Apparently it says to drive for. 20 miles, so I guess you're doing alright. Hey thanks for doing this before I do it, gives me a little more security. I feel better about the whole thing.
@@TheFixerHomeRepair I can confirm it works great in lawn tractor tires, just over 10 years with tires filled with it, the tires are cracked and splitting from dry rot of being outside all year but still hold up great
This video is better than the official product video... But I'm surprised how the slime flowed in so easily. Even though my vehicle's tire is flat and has no air and I have removed the valve core, I'm still struggling to pump the slime, feels as if I'm trying to pump air. Why does is it seem impossible to do it?
do you need to decrease air pressure when you use sealant. I am thinking since sealant uses volume of tube, less air would be needed, and thus less air pressure. do I still follow tire rating for air pressure or just use less air in general?
not good practice to put the alve on the ground when you remove it. Too much chance of dirt or other contaminants, adhering to it, which can lead to a poor seal.
well, here's MY sad story... i have a crapload of small engine - tillers, lawn tractor, snow blower, yadayada... snowblower tire went flat, i bought a tube, but just am not strong enough to get the tire tube in etc, so took it to the tire place.... THEY put the tube in, not fixing the seal like i expected. then one of the tires on the chipper went flat... it's a lot smaller, so figure it would be easier right? HAHAHA - NOPE, i totally screwed up the rim trying to put the tire back on, THEN after ozzie rules wrestling, found out i had puncture the tube putting the tire on... tried to hammer out the rim as best i could, bought a tube - SAME THING... bought one of those cheapo tire putter-onner things you bolt to the floor... patched the tube. apparently when they say 8- 22 inches on the box, they don't really mean it... it did make it more helpful to have the tire not moving around, but had to drill one of the holes bigger to allow the pin on the tire changer to fit... hammered out the rim as best i could, drilled another hole on the OTHER side to put the air thing through, and tried again... bend the rim AGAIN... and yes it was all lubed... got the tire on, filled it up and poof, the patch blew... THEN figured since i could fill it up with a portable air thing i fill with my compressor, i could fill it up just enough to at least move it... put that tire on, and found the OTHER one was flat and wouldn't stay filled... so i'm resorting to this stuff now.
You mean do you use the plastic one just be careful, and if it doesn't work then use the metal one. I thought you were going to say it destroys the valve and now even a metal one won't work. I have a two wheel electric scooter. Tried Slime. Nope. The valve stem is the key. If you can't properly tighten it back in again, your tube is history.
I totally respect your opinion. I have heard both sides of the story with slime and fix a flat. I would never use either on my car, however, I decided to give this a shot on my mower before I bought a new wheel and tire. Buying a new wheel and tire is how I would fix this the right way. Instead of spending $120 to do this I decided to try this stuff and it is holding up so far. So for $10 I am happy with that! Thanks for checking out the video! I really appreciate that and thank you for your feedback!
Mike, so I can take off my tire, bring it to you, pay you to fix it,or tell me I need a new tire, wait a day or two. Then have to find time to go get it, put it back on, then do my lawn. Or get slimed and be on the road in 15 minutes. And yes I've changed tires and put in tubes, wire wheels work pretty good cleaning up tires and rims.

Tiny needle nose pliers work!
Front tires and rear tires have different PSI. Always check both tire for the correct PSI.
Yup. Good tip!

Do you have to put air in? other videos with crack and crevice filler from Good stuff says you do not ??
You need to inflate the tyre to the recommended pressure.
Thanks for the video. I need to do this and always wondered whether tire repair sealants really worked. I envy your shed.
Thanks for the video.. i suck at fixing things and mom just called about a flat on her John Deere... so I'm off to find some slime :)
The part inside of the valve stem is called a Schrader valve not a core
Older people call it "The Core".
What ever it's called I can't get it out. Please help. 🙂
WRONG, the valve stem assembly is called a Schrader valve, the part in the middle is called the CORE! Most who "know it all" actually don't.
SLIME works So good, whenever I buy a new piece of landscape
eq I SLIME all the tires FIRST. Never a flat again!

they sell tubes if you want to go that route as well. thumbs up, subbed

Follow the tyre pressure listed in the manual or if no manual max as show on the tyre wall.
They make bike tubes with this stuff in them and it works wonders
Don't lose core,I'll put it right where I'm working so I won't knock it somewhere that I can't find it for 15 minutes.
I put the core in my mouth, CAREFULLY, keep it between my cheek n gums. OTHERWISE I WILL LOSE IT!!

I’ve slimed many tires, stuff is great
Another guy does a light spray of water inside the tire PRIOR to adding Slime….is that step unnecessary? Good video too
Amaaaazing😂

We called em valve stems back in the day
The plastic valve remover is shit.the slime great.the valve remover snapped/caused no end of fckn drama.use a steel one.ya been warned.T800Aust

How about on mountain bike tires?
Hey, Drake! Yes, it should work for mountain bike tires. Just use the same process. Thanks for watching!
Couldn’t get stem out😢
Slime works great. The problem is the darn so called core "tool" that's supposed to remove the valve core. and the fact that it's made of plastic.
What size is your shed?
Hey, Matt! It is a 10 foot x 10 foot. Here is a video of me building it if you are interested! th-cam.com/video/7b9d9LmZh6Q/w-d-xo.html
