Got the 2022 sr5 premium 4x4. I agree the sr5 is the model to get, but I would make sure it is 4x4 and get the sr5 premium package as well. It’s not much more money and it makes a big difference to the comfort and feel. I bought it for life so I wanted to spec it to keep it for 20 years and the premium package gets you softex heated seats and all led lights and optional sun roof plus blind spot monitoring. It makes a big difference and makes it feel like you’re not missing anything from any other car. Ide say that’s the way to go if you wanna keep it for a while
Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦 and great show Tristan 😊 ! I just purchased a 2024 4Runner Limited and I thourly enjoying it so far. These 5th generation 4Runners may not have the power or high tech stuff but is reliable and bulletproof .
The trd off road is better only because it has a manual transfer case that Toyota has been using for 30 years and it’s bullet proof. And it doesn’t have all the extra tech you don’t need on a trd pro.
Body on frame SUV’s are better suited for Truck stuff. The limited and sr5 trims are more for on road use but you aren’t going to get a better ride out of body on frame. If your want a better ride get unibody, if you want more capability get body on frame. The trd off-road trim is geared around more what this suv is capable of and its strengths.
I have Camry 2018 LA but my dream car and the only thing that I want to upgrade to right now is not even the Highlander. I want to go straight up to the foreigner. I know it’s gonna be so much gas spent on it because I hear here and there this thing is a gas guzzler, but I just cannot get rid of my mind of how beautiful it is and how design it is and how rugged it is and I love to have that feeling every day of V6 with 4 L . And to do this move because my main job is transportation and I do Oring so it would be a bummer for me to do Oring in a runner but in the same time I want this car to stay with me for 10 15 or 20 years .I still see the second . generation and the first generation on the roads today in Texas . It’s really tough when you have so many options even when your options only Toyota.
Dude, we don't have to see how the wipers, lights and every other thing works. It would be nice to know what's different about the Sr 5 trim level you did allude to that in your description.
It's true that the 4Runner has terrible gas mileage but trust me you will spend less money for gas over the years than repair since it's a very reliable/dependable SUV.
Timeless doesnt mean great. The cost is crazy in 2024, especially for something that is archaic and crap gas mileage. I cant wait for the next gen comes.
If thats your complaint than the 4runner isnt for you. Nobody buys a 4runner for its mileage. If it stands the test of time thats all that matter in a world full of cars that breakdown and have tons of recalls.
@@Piznick64 then this 4runner isnt for you. When the new gas saving 4runner is available the reliability of the 4runner will be a thing of the past. You cant have it all everything in life is a trade off.
Bought one for 33k in 2018, recently sold it for a 2024 cx5 turbo premium, and haven't looked back since. There is no way I would pay the base model, gas-guzzling 14 yr old platform for over 45k. They are overrated.
4Runner is designed to go off road and is a truck. Of course it is not as refined as fuel efficient as a crossover like a cx5. You can’t compare them. The 4Runner is not the most comfortable suv, not the most efficient, but is one of the most off road capable and reliable.
@@alimirzaei2075Most people who buy this truck never take theirs to the rock crawling .. they buy it just for the looks. And as far as reliability, I can tell you from my own experience that any japanese brand will last long, especially the first ten years will be problem free. 4runner might be reliable but you will spend ridiculous amount of money on gas and higher insurance premium every month. Not to mention ridiculously high markups on brand new 4runners. I've seen trd pro going for 57k, and people are drooling over it. Imagine having 800 car note for 7 years and have to fill it up 100 dollars every week. This car has 20 gallon gas tank and gas price is almost 5 dollars a gallon where i live.
LOL! Yeah- a “rocking chair” that is tried and true and one of the last real SUV’s that is off road capable. It has some of the highest resale and reliability ratings.
The only thing this has is reliability. It's way behind the pack on everything else. My Brother has a 23 ORP and the nose dive when braking is insane. I do have a lot of respect for it though. The rear window that rolls down is amazing and it just feels strong and well built overall
Probably the best SUV out there, and if you drive it like it's meant to be driven there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. If you come from a car I can understand or an overpriced pickup again understandable
I bought mine in 2021 and get 23+MPG driving around town as a grocery getter and 27 Highway. Just keep it in eco mode and avoid fast starts
My parents always had a 4Runner. Even till this day. 4Runners have held down the fort time and time again and i cant wait to buy my own soon
Love my 2017 4Runner, yes basic but totally reliable.

I have the SR5 base model , so no sunroof, , cloth seats/not heated,..............but
You paid almost $5k more for those. Mine was $39K MSRP.

My 2017 SR5 Premium 2WD is a fantastic road runner. So simple.
I just ordered a 24 sr5 premium. Excited for it! Any tips for when you first get it? I’m in the rust belt so going to be putting undercoat on
@@_cohen get canvas back to go over the back seat and the back cargo area. It protects the carpet.
Also for $250 you can install a remote start and it’s not too hard to do on your own.
Thank you for the excellent detailed review. We just picked up our 2024 4Runner. We are super excited about it.

overall trd off road is more suitable for off tho

The TRDOF also has MTS and Crawl Control....

What is the red blinking light - Passenger, BLINK when the car is Locked ? Is it an Alarm feature ?
Love the Nissan sign in the background 😂
The space by the cup holder by the Gear Stick is for COINS - I think :)
Reliable and capable but a bit antiquated and lousy gas mileage...past due for a complete replacement.
Does the rear wiper/washer work with the rear window rolled down?
no
there’s no oil temp guage smh…

Go vote for Joe again so inflation can go higher.
Who the hell buys a 4Runner for gas mileage?;!
I hate the who cares about gas mileage or noone buys for gas mileage arguement..like gas is $4 a gallon.. i stoll wanna save if i can

So you bought an off road vehicle and expect it to perform like a standard suv? Sounds like a you problem
SR5 has nav? Since when. Sure you didn’t get an SR5 Premium?
Comparing a real SUV to a cross over lmfao.
You don't know what you're talking about bro. These are a steal at
I have rented one of these and it is NOT the best anything.........like driving a rocking chair
lol made in japan alone makes it the best. best resale value, more reliable. you cant name a better more valuable suv..
