STORYLINE:
The Israeli military carried out operations in Gaza on Wednesday, a day after it came in for widespread condemnation for an airstrike that killed international aid workers.
Among the seven people who died are citizens of Australia, Poland, the United Kingdom and a U.S.-Canada dual citizen.
World Central Kitchen, the food charity founded by celebrity chef José Andrés, said early Tuesday it was immediately suspending operations in the region.
The closure is a blow to the recently opened sea route for food aid to Gaza.
Israel said the strikes were an accident and officials were investigating.
Gaza's Health Ministry says Israel’s war has killed nearly 33,000 Palestinians, two thirds of them women and children.
In northern Gaza, the United Nations says much of the population is on the brink of starvation.
The war started after a Hamas-led attack on southern Israel killed nearly 1,200 people.
