Others have said it in the comments but I will reiterate, 1) Coffee Stain has stated MANY times, there is no right or wrong way to play the game, that's the beauty of this game. 2) Making mistakes and being "inefficient" is all part of the learning experience and gives you a chance to build your next factory differently and learn from your mistakes! 3) Just have fun, Z and enjoy the journey. the great thing about satisfactory to remember THERE IS NO RIGHT WAY. build however the heck you want to build. everyone has their own style. I dont rush coal, I build a sweet 24 generator biomass plant. ive been working on my coal plant all weekend because I know I wont touch it after its finished lol
hey Z not sure if you know when placing buildings if you press the H key it will lock the ghost to the spot so you can walk around and check it out before you place it, and also you can nudge the ghost around if you need to shift placement before building
I suggest adding things to your hotbar. You go to the build menu, hover the mouse over the desired item and press the number you want. You can access more hotbars by holding control and spinning the mouse wheel.
@14:30 This whole thing is overthinking it. The splitters will split 50/50 regardless and make the other input back up because the merger will try to merge 50/50. You need the smart splitter to do what you want or you have to split and merge to get exact numbers for each belt.
Hey Z, hot tip to make power poles easier. Instead of making a new power line, build a pole but select a wire that is already connected. Instant new pole already connected

Awesome video again. You might not do things the way most people do it but that is totally fine. That's the beauty of a building game. There is no right and wrong. And like you said if you don't like it, leave. Just a quick tip: Like others have mentioned it can be real nice to add buildables to your hotbar. You can even have more than one, alt+scroll to switch hotbars. But i am more fan of using the middle mouse button. It selects the buildable you are currently looking at. It makes it super easy to expand an existing base because all the buildings are already near you so you can easily select it.
Don't rush yourself it doesent matter that maybe other Players or Creators are already in the End Game. We like to watch you and we know you have multiple Series goin at the same Time. Im glad you're slower than me so im not afraid of Spoilers 😅 Much Love. Great Episode!
You're doing great, Z! I'm personally just struggling to get through my milestones by handcrafting everything until I unlock mk2 miners, then I can FINALLY 'properly' build my beginner base and actually expand haha.
I don’t want to say that you’re playing it wrong but it would be a lot easier and faster to just build some temporary stuff and erase it all once you can get your stuff sorted. kibitz did that too
@14:45 you had 3 factories merging into 1 conveyor belt. why not just delete a merger at end of the factory and move one merger one factory over. this way you can merge 4 factory into 1 line. it might not look as pretty (symmetrical) but it'll work.
I saw a tip to make a water tower, you run the pipe up to above the max height you need water and do a u-turn an run the pipe down a bit then run from there, cuts way down on the inline pumps needed and helps maintain pressure in the system
"..... including kittens & puppies...." I LOVE the ADA messages in this 1.0 release..... Whoever wrote those must have worked by us for at least some of their career..... So sick....

The reason I have been watching you for years now is your style of play. If I want to see a speed run, which is rare, I watch another. You play at the pace I play. I want you to know it is appreciated. Thank you Sir.
Maybe for your next episode you could go on a exploration and find some wrecks for harddrives .... that way you can get Cast Screws ... where you construct iron ingots straight into screws without having to construct bars .... saves alot of space and materials and maybe find some more spots for raw materials for future factory expansion.
May want to explore the map when you have a chance or while your waiting for things to be processed. Because it is quite large but holds many discoveries both new and old.
Not sure if its been mentioned but, when you add the splitter to the raised belt and its close enough to the generator rebuild the conveyor lift from the splitter instead and it will auto connect to the generator not needing the belts.
the people complaining about how you play are the same people that have 50 page spreadsheets on what each belt and machine can take. JUST PLAY YOUR WAY.
You don’t need the last splitter in the manifold, you can just go from the splitter at the previous machine and send it into the last one, saves a small amount of materials
Your original plan was to have 3 groups of 4 smelters, not the other way around. That belt math would have worked out perfectly with tier 2 belts, and you would have had only 3 outputs.
You can see how you look when using the hypertubes! I saw my character with the giant head on an april fools day and I thought that my game got bugged or corrupted before realizing about the date :D
hey just started rebuilding my starter factory making it multi-level and more open how should i take all the limestone nodes( 3 normal, 1 pure) into the 7 construtors can figure out effient way? also in the same exact spot as Z.

i don't wish to be mean but according to your logic i think your forgetting the rate of output , 30*3 = 120 if you only have 120 per min belts your creating a backlog just trying to put 240 on a 120 line , 120*2 = 240

First and foremost, Thank you for another video. As everyone has already stated, you play your game the way you want. I would like to make a recommendation for video improvement. When you are loaded into your world in the game click the ` (top left under the escape key) and it will bring up the console. In the console type r.fog 0 and it will remove the haze. Just take a moment and see what your thoughts are on it. Please keep up the good work and welcome to coal power, the next major milestone for all Fiscit employees where scale really comes into play.

Hey Z, just ignore the people telling you to max out everything. The way you play is just fine. I got to ask through: Why are you using 4 splitters to feed 4 machines? You can just feed the 3rd and 4th machine from the 3rd splitter. Looks a little neater too. Maybe try it out, see if you like it :)
So just an FYI... the mathematically correct way to load balance is to evenly split every incoming belt into the number of outputs you want BEFORE doing any merging. Then each output is simply the merging of one split from all the inputs. And yeah, it takes a massive amount of space and effort to do that for a non-trivial number of belts. Which is why almost nobody ever builds a proper load balancer that can work for any input rates. More commonly, players will make a system specific to the actual production rates they have.
The "from ohio?" killed me. Anyway, Z, I would highly recommend doing some exporing and finding hard drives to unlock alternate recipes. There are some recipes that can ELIMINATE screws from your early production lines.

Some ways are better obviously but the game doesn’t force you which makes interesting results…

Can I just say how incredibly hard working Z1 Gaming is. Like this dude has HIGH quality videos basically daily. That takes some good talent.
The straight belt option is such a good quality of life update. Before half of the time spent on building was just making the belts go where you want.

3 water generators will supply 8 coal plants if you run the pipes correctly.
8 generator water bus (X at each generator), water into the 2 gen, between 4 and 5 gen, and 6 gen.

While I will say you don't NEED that many spitters, if you like it, I personally like it as well

Also please use floor holes, the clipping looks weird. Up to you, but floor holes are better
Build the floors out a bit more tp have more room to move around

ive played satisfactory way too many times, i just turned the enemies off. they can be killed so easily after a while its just more of an annoyance.
