Rick - so cool that you have such frequent shows. Love the 1950 Bowman cards - at killer prices. Yes, I hear you, going over budget. That said, you had a great show seeing friends and getting some fun pickups. Thanks for sharing.
hi Chuck! Yes, we both have an admiration of those 1950 Bowman cards. They're really nice, I need to find the Ted Williams card. I still want to try a show out your way. A lot more vintage where you are but shows are still fun!. Thanks for watching!
Hi Rick. Wanted to go to both shows today but man it is HOT. Had to entertain the kids inside the house. Hopefully I’ll catch you again at the next Long Beach show. Cheers - Edison
Edison, I think the only reason I went to LB on Friday besides seeing George and Levon was KNOWING they had a good AC there. I went to Pasadena against my better judgement and luckily I survived. The AC in Pasadena was nowhere as good with the mass of humanity that was in there. A few good sellers but the vintage wasn't the best. I still got lucky. Hope to see you at the next show, Edison!
Great pickups at the shows. Love all the all star cards. May be a project or focus of mine down the road. Beautiful Gordon card. Congrats on getting that into your collection.
Mike, its funny cause I am not really a fan of the 69 set, but the World Series, League Leaders and All-Star cards are amazing! I was really lucky to find the Gordon. Absolutely love the Gordon card and a very nice addition. Thanks for watching!
Rick, you did really well on those 69 and 50 cards. I enjoyed completing the 69 set years ago. Lots of cool cards and big names. Congratulations on the Gordon! Such an important member on that 48 Cleveland team.
Mitchell, the 1969 All-Star, League Leaders and World Series cards really stand out for me on that set. Just love them. Love the Joe Gordon card. Got real lucky to get that one. Thanks for watching!
You know, when Pokémon first appeared, back in the 1990s I think, I figured it was just one more fad. I'm amazed at the life it's taken on. I'm sorry about the heat. El Paso is having one of the most heavenly Septembers ever, and we deserve it. Those 1950 Bowmans are beautiful, and even though they're commons, the price is a steal, good for you. I keep forgetting that Newhouser was active as late as 1955. Funny you should get that incredible Gordon. I just traded an inexpensive but beautiful 1960 Topps Joe Gordon manager card to a guy who's putting together three cards of each Hall-of-Famer. As you said, sometimes some low-priced card can mean so much to a collection.
Pokemon usually doesn't bug me but today there was just a huge amount. I once drove to Palm Springs and saw a card show filled with Pokemon. It was just too much today. I can't even imagine what Texas heat is like. I always love finding a card of a HOF player that I don't have in my collection. DIdn't know he was a Yankee at first but he had solid numbers with them. Trade for Allie Reynolds was a win for both teams. I need to learn more about Newhouser. Thans for watching, my friend!
some of those 50 Bowman's look exactly alike but then you realize its a different player. I am tired, Eric! Too many card shows. Last one of the year I think.
I knew you'd end up spending more than 17 bucks for the weekend. LOL. Very sharp Newhouser and also a very nice Gordon. Gordon is not represented in my collection either (card or auto) but I need to get something. Have a great rest of your weekend my friend.
For a minute there, it really looked like I was going to spend $17 until I ran into this one table. Mikey brought from him as well. Vintage was limited, but it was nice to see sellers I had never seen before selling vintage. I love the Gordon card! Was very happy to get that one. Thanks for watching, Mike. Stay out of the heat the rest of the weekend!
Hey Rick, sorry for the late comment. I watched the video the day it came out but didn’t have a chance to comment at the time. I type faster on my computer, lol. In my opinion, you have a solid approach to managing your budget. It’s okay to cut into next month’s budget sometimes if the deal is right. I don’t do it very often unless it’s an irresistible deal, which doesn’t happen that frequently. That Joe Gordon card is beautiful-it’s one I wouldn’t mind adding at some point, and I think you got a good deal. It's funny, I have the ’69 set and didn’t know Johnny Podres was still pitching then. 'Podres on the Padres' has a nice ring to it, haha. You got a great deal on the Newhouser, too. I’ll have to check that seller out. I also like that the ’61 checklist has a baseball image, unlike most of the ones from the ’70s that were just plain with a bunch of names and boxes. The 50s set continues to come along nicely. Thanks for sharing your latest pickups.
Ahhhh no need to apologize, I know busy life can be! I love that Joe Gordon card! My first Joe Gordon and I love having it in my collection. It never dawned on me until you commented Podres on the Padres! HAHAHA Agreed, nice pickups. Thanks for watching, Terry!
@@The_Cincinnati_Kid I love this card and noticed it for the time a couple of months ago. I was looking at a few on eBay but didn't like the price. Then I stumbled into this one at the show and said, yes, I want this one. I really got lucky!
Great pick ups Rick. That Gordon is really nice. Also liked the bowmans. How far in are you with the 69 set? Enjoy the rest of your weekend stay cool. Go Dodgers
Thanks Jesse! For 1969, I am just doing the World Series and All-Star cards. For 1950, I still need about 123 of the 252. Barely half way there. I need to find a Ted Williams card. Thanks for watching!

Cool pickups! I really like the World Series cards!
LOVE the WS cards with the old newspaper headline!
Cool Johnny Padres. I remember his as a pitching coach for the Padres in the 1980s. I have his 1955 card.
His 55 card is awesome! Either that or his 1953 Topps RC is my favorite. Thanks for watching!

Some really nice additions and solid deals. Congrats Rick!
Thanks Mark! I guess a show is successful if you buy something! lol!
@@RickAcostaDodgerCardCollector I’ve gone to some and not gotten a thing. Those were definitely not successes! 🤪

There was tons of Pokémon at the Anaheim Show. That was a bummer.
