    Not mentioned (unless I missed it) linseed oil gives the wood important breathability, so it won't rot.

    Helpful step-by-step instructions, thank you! I'm curious why turpentine is used in the primer. I haven't seen that included before. Does it perform any special purpose, or can that be skipped?

    Why don’t people use this on interior trim instead of gloss?

    Thank you very nice tutorial 🙂 What happens if I don't put any turpentine in the oil paint? How much time will it take to dry then?

    Don’t microporous paints allow timber to breathe?

    I am searching but not finding;
    * is it best to prime and apply one universal undercoat on steel and timber window frames before applying putty
    * how long must the putty in steel and wood frames be left to 'cure before it can be painted over?
    * what type of paint is applied directly onto putty

      While I would agree from an aesthetic point of view linseed oil paint is suitable for metal too

    Once you find yourself in the next century ...think about applying a second coat of paint
