Nice...I've been bitten by the "just open it look inside and fix it myself" bug. Its amazing what gets thrown away. How much money you can save just by looking. Keep making vids. This is what TH-cam was intended for.
I picked up the bigger brother the RX-770 on Offer Up for $40 because the display didn't work. Found a 2 pack of bulbs on ebay for $9 shipped, super easy to replace. I used it for my main 2 channel setup for about 6 months then ended up selling it on ebay for $280 :) I liked the sound of it a lot honestly, pushed my Klipsch KG 4.2 perfectly, but I just liked the sounds of my Marantz integrated better with more detail and smoother high end.
...just before Christmas, a friend of mine rescued a Electric Kick-style Scooter from the trash and asked me to have a look at it...a couple of new batteries, check the components, replace a first gen LED and Wallace, it works...now a 10 year old grand daughter is very happy...
Just a bit of advise, when cleaning face plates, Windex works great and gets rid of all oily finger prints, it's great on display windows too, I also use Windex and a cotton bud to clean around any plugs or sockets, speaker connections, it gets rid of all the dust and crap, it makes it look like new.
Hello, I have the same Yamaha that does not turn on. The standby relay does not click. I short it out manually and the amplifier worked, but the display and its functions still do not work. What could be the problem? Could the problem be in the CPU?
Beautiful video thank you. I have a problem with a fairly old Yamaha htr-5230rds amplifier. When you turn it on, most of the time, either only the right channel works or only the left or only the sub! Turn up the volume a lot and all 5 channels will automatically reset. You turn it off and on again and either one channel or another does not work, you suddenly turn up the volume and everything is restored. Can you give me some help? Thanks and sorry for my English
Hmm, I’m really not an expert when it comes to this stuff. However since it’s affecting all channels I’d say it sounds like a broken solder joint on a ground connection maybe? An audio electronics repair forum would probably be of more help than I can be. Also, your English is very good, no worries.
Hi bro, I have Rx-v557 yahama amplifier, it is playing on ups batteries 220v but not playing on outdoor electricity trun on but tripped, I removed all cables of speakers, but still issue exists. How to fix it. Thanks
Av receivers can cost up to $10,000.00 to buy brand new so therefore you should take really good care of them and only repair them if you really know what you’re doing because you invest a lot of money in them and they are a extremely expensive piece of stereo equipment
Except that this isn’t an AV receiver, it’s just an older stereo receiver, and it was free. I also think you’ll find that few people that drop 10 grand on a receiver work on their own equipment.

Glad to help, and glad you enjoyed it :)

Oh. That's good to know about the Windex.

Enjoyed the video. You should have TH-cam add 4 to your views count - there was a spider on the back wall of your workbench watching you.
Beautiful video thank you.

Sounds like a grounding issue to me.
Beautiful work!
Mine lights up but no sound output.
Did you find a solution? Mine does the same
Hello sir, when you're tuning the voltage is it VDC Or VAC?
DC, as stated in the service manual. This isn’t something you can guess at and you require the manual to perform this adjustment.
one of the nicer older series made in japan. nice sounding amp !
"There goes the power again"
Says everyone in California!
Actually can you summarize what are the components been replaced with part number if possible. Thank you from Malaysia
Did you watch the video? I feel like I show that pretty clearly.
LMAO! Just saw this for some reason. Surprised you didn’t ask for a payment plan....
