I think that there’s a chance your crops won’t grow due to random tick speed. It’s possible a map maker did “set random tick speed 0” or something to make things like vines and stuff to not spread to unwanted places, or leaves to decay. This however also affects plant growth

Sean, the tick speed might be at 0 and if it's to prevent fires from spreading, there should be a command or mod to stop the fire from spreading. So you can set the tick speed to 1. I'm not sure though.

The standard tick speed is actually 3 I believe, and the command to turn of the fire is "/StopFireSpread true" I think.
It's probably why his crops won't grow too 😵

36:00 You may have a mod or a setting interfering with the tilled soil's absorption rate. I did a test on the Parasite map on both survival and hardcore modes and it took the tilled soil significantly more time to change color to denote properly irrigated in comparison to the standard game. What I found that worked was to make a floating farm 2 blocks wide in a lake/pond and everything began to grow properly. Hope this helps for later 100 day vids!

Hey Sean, an advice for 1:59:20 - since you're 1.19, you can use tinted glass. Tinted glass lets you see trough, but mobs can't see through it.

Watching the sheer number of hostiles just spawn out of nowhere has me convinced someone was just waiting in the corner of your load chunk and just hit the command spawn 100 (mob) and just waited for the chaos to ensue.

if you need to know why you were getting irradiated, its cause you were getting the radiation effect directly from command blocks, you need to set up a system that will check for the armor and output a value that will determine if you get effected or not

I love that because Sean collects a ton of modpacks for these challenges, you can sometimes find mobs from other games and movies
The reasoning why the radiation was still working sean is because you set the command blocks to auto effect you with it regardless of what you wear. If it was from a physical source and not a command block, or set the command block to register what you wear, the radiaton wouldn't have hurt you

The fact that apparently didn't occur to him or any of his friends who set this place up that he'd need a check system for whether he had the armor on or not just... astounds me.
Nothing is growing because it depends on the Y level, not sunlight. Press F3 and check what level you are before making a farm. Since you map makers use flat world or low Y worlds, its going to be imoossible to farm unless you build upwards. I highly suggest bringing this up to your builders (as well as the very high bedrock) since this is a big problem for survival mode.
Don't think that's the case because he's able to dig down deep and mine so it's not like he's at a low y level. It's probably the tick speed.
Edit: Nvm, I just got to a part where he got to the bottom of the world on the surface. That's just weird, maybe there's designated mining spots or something?
it's definitely not because of y-level, my guess is it's because of tick speed because he always plays on custom-made maps so the mapmakers probably set tickspeed to 0 while making them then don't bother setting it back to normal. This also explains the crop-land not being irrigated i believe

the intro gave me massive flashbacks somehow...as a kid i watched some kind of minecraft series about chernobyl till right now i didnt even know this memory still existed in my mind i was really invested at the time haha so thanks for brining it back!
The reason your crops arent growing is because of something called "ticks". ticks determine minecrafts decaying stuff like fire, growing crops, campfires. The higher the tick is, the faster the game. Set the game to 20 ticks to play normally. Hİgher the tick, faster the game. i hope i helped
I'm guessing the guy who made the map had the tick rate at 0 for building purposes. I was thinking about it every time he complained about nothing growing.

Except that really doesn't explain it. There's a thing called "random tick speed", and it determines per game tick (20 ticks per second) how many blocks in a chunk section gets randomly ticked/updated. The default is 3, meaning per game tick, 3 blocks per chunk section (16x16x16 area) are updated. Without specific mods you can not set the actual game tick speed, you say to set it to 20 for default, but you're talking about game ticks, which are a consistent 20 (unless your game is lagging and can't handle that speed). Unless you use carpet mod or something similar you can not set the game tick rate. The random tick rate is the one that's configurable and it's default is 3 not 20 because it's a different system.
We can tell that random tick speed is not 0 because other phenomenon are happening that also occur with random ticks. And 5 in-game days should have caused at least a few growth stage for at least a few plant even if random tick speed was set to 1. The fact the crops aren't really growing fast but other things happen like leaves decaying and fires going out, etc, says that tick speed shouldn't be 0, but the crops still aren't growing at a usual rate, so I wouldn't be surprised if he has a mod he puts in a lot of his modpacks that he doesn't realize is messing with crop growth. I know he said there wasn't any, but it might be an unintended consequence of a mod he doesn't realize is doing so.
Random tick rate is what got changed. 20 ticks for gameplay, yes, but for random tick rate you want 3. He changed the random tick rate.
The part where the spigs were surrounding and festering around his base was genuinely terrifying.

Second of all: For the crops, the problem could be /gamerule random tick speed, which could be set to 0. I noticed that the immediate issue wasnt the crops not growing, but that the farmland wasnt becoming wet, so it isn't just a farming issue. Either way, i hope this helps if you see it. Hey forge, I have a response to possibly not being able to make farms! Try to have rows of water in each section of your farm. A way you can check if your crops are being watered is if the dirt is a dark brown in color instead of a lightish tan, so just have water nearby every 4 crops or have a section of water to the corresponding section of crops. Or it possibly has something to do with your tick speed.
The fact that this is the first time I've seen Forge Labs be scared of frogs surprises me

Just saw him fighting the mutant skelle-bro so I don't know if he encounters an Enderman, but my face lit up when I saw the mutant creepers because talk about a blast from the past. MCM, Aether, and Pixelmon were the first 3 mods I ever played when I finally figured out how to mod as a teen, so those monstrosities will always hold a special place in my heart.
I dont know why, but hearing the high quality voice over switch to the lower quailty in game mic just makes me happy through out all of his 100 day videos. 😁😁
I love how the first mob he captures is the fungus amungus. (Actually called Mungus). Also, if the Mungus is covered in Warped Fungus and is attacked by a Crimson Mosquito, it makes a mini boss. Too bad Grob has red mushrooms.
While part of me wants Sean to learn about Alexs Mobs, it's way more fun to see him get stunlocked and confused about the random, non-realistic mobs in it. :D

My friend is a fan of Chernobyl, I personally never told him this, but I like it too, it has pretty cool mutant things, big and small, deadly venomous, and mostly, INCREDIBLE, great work, Forge Labs! And also; In 2023 October, he was a Hazmat Man for Halloween, but me, I was a Skull Ninja, so we both were likely different things
Few thoughts:
1) The second half of this video was made infinitely better by Grob. I love that you had a little buddy to go back to and I hope he survived.
2) I think "car" is a good name for that thing because it feels like you just misspelled "cat", which would have been fitting considering the sequence to get it in another pen is exactly how I feel whenever I need to get my cats in a carrier.
3) What's with the bulls? Did you go through something that you just decided to take out on them? Like, as a kid were you BULL-ied? ;P

2:36:38 If you're wondering why the necrophage looks like it's made of glass and copper and gold, that's because it's been spawned artificially via the horde mod in the overworld! If they spawn in the end they look normal, with their endstone legs and obsidian bodies and purple caspid, and if artificially spawned in the nether they look like they're made of nether brick and blackstone with a gold block on the top! It's a really cool detail for something that normally wouldn't happen!

the radiation suit probably wasn't working because the command was just to give you the radiation effect. that's all. the command block was working perfectly, you just didn't tell it to stop when you have a radiation suit on

0:29 That’s sarcophagus that you pointed out is actually the New Safe Confinement (designed to last 100 years) that was built over the original sarcophagus. They both cover reactor 4 and the Sarcophagus is planed to. E removed
It’s getting removed as we speak because it was put together hastily and there is a fear of collapse which would cause a lot of dust to be thrown up and it would contaminate a lot of the inside of NSC
Considering it was put up quickly, it has lasted nearly 40 years. Well maintained concrete buildings can last up to 100 so hopefully the next one will be more substantial
@@Kungle They built it within a year to cover it as fast as they could and due to the radiation, the sarcophagus had some setbacks during construction. I bet that it will be dismantled and another containment structure will be built under the New Safe Confinement when it reaches is expiration date.
@@Oil_lover the poor building and rain has lead to it’s structural failure. I bet that when the NSC reaches its expiration date, another containment building will be built inside.

For anyone wondering, the main mod here is called MutationCraft which adds mutaded mobs, kinda like Scape and run parasites

Hey Sean, you probably wont read this, but I thought I'd mention that when you have sand to clear out, instead of using your shovel, you can break the bottom one and quickly place a torch there so that all the above sand/gravel blocks will fall onto it and break automatically. After a little practice it becomes a really fast method of clearing. Hope that helps you out!
