Hi Navankur: It was quite funny to see you guys driving around in my neighborhood. The area around Oak Tree Road in Edison is also know as Little India. The India Day Parade goes through main sections of Oak Tree Road and over 20,000 people attend every year. Top politicians including the NJ Governor himself attend these celebrations. The Mayor of Edison, Sam Joshi, is an Indian American.

Hi, the reason behind the 3% is that card companies charge them a certain amount per transaction. Its especially bad with American Express, where some outlets would outright refuse to accept it.

Indian stores are charging 2% or 3% on all credit cards because all credit card payment processing companies and terminals where you tap or swipe your card charges 2% or 3% on every single credit card transection depending on processing company to process the payment to the bank account and Indian venders specially Gujarati business owners doesn't want to pay for those charges so they prefer cash or they transfer those charges to customers. This is true in USA and Canada. Gujarati business brain. 😀👍
