NO ONE did it better. I'm sure she doesn't care about this, but it's inconceivable to me that some of the recognition of her vocal talent (e.g., Grammys) stopped after she took some time away. She had some phenomenal albums in the late 1990's and 2000's that were unmatched (e.g., Find it on the Wings; Artist of My Soul; O Holy Night!; Broadway Stories). She deserves a lifetime achievement Grammy in Gospel/Christian/Inspirational. She will forever go down as one of the greatest female vocalists of her time...along with Whitney, CeCe, Linda Ronstadt, Natalie Grant. I pray she knows she is loved and how grateful we are for the sacrifices she made for a public life. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
Still can’t. When the Dove Awards did the Sandi Patty Tribute with the current singers, it was atrocious. Natalie Grant can sing but she even she couldn’t handle the song. The other girls…whew bad.

She was performing at the old Thomas Road Baptist Church (on Thomas Rd.) in Lynchburg, VA. My hometown/church. Audio is so bad. She could bring the house down.
