    side note use Alt+M to auto add next region saves time also its a lot easier to auto chop the sample and then adjust afterwards

    definitely not the easiest way to sample, but you explained it extremely well. I always wondered if anyone uses the spectrum view vs the wav view.. mad respect bro, keep em coming!

    First off great video! How can I chop a 4 bar loop into 16 equal pieces automatically? None of the auto-slicing ways seem to work. Is there a way with slicex? I've searched far and wide and haven't found a solution.

    • @baconsogood454
      @baconsogood454 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Doesn't need to be short and sweet, but you also don't want a lot of wasted time in the tutorial. This was a nice tutorial but there was way too much wasted time in here. Him slicing up the file (we didn't need to see all of that, he could have edited 90% of that out). Same with setting up the piano roll, we only needed to see a few seconds of that, the rest was a waste of time.

      cause it's fun to figure shit out by yourself dude :) sure, u can approach it systematically and really try to get the sound down, that you hear in your head but if you fuck around and experiment you can get something, you would have never come up with otherwise

    Even though it’s a to Torio we would like to see it actually work to the smoothness that you’re talking about. Although you have more control it seems like there’s more work to have to get a smooth again.

    @NIKK BKVKK dope tutorial man! Wondering what if you decided to change the tempo of the project at a later stage... Would this affect the timing of the chops or will it automatically auto-stretch them to make fit for the new chosen BPM?

    • @jokeymonkey
      @jokeymonkey 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      @ NIKK BLVKK Hmmm yeah I thought so man! I think its a major flaw which if fixed will change the game! What would you recommend doing if you decided to change the BPM? Would you just go back and manually change things, e.g. Drums pattern to suit the tempo? Because I can't think of any other fix!

    Sample chops without at least a simple drum beat under them will most times sound like ass. would love to hear that sequence with some drums to bring it together. I Was looking for a more features heavy tutorial, to see if this could replace recycle for me. I got some help from this, but mostly seems like I'll stick with recycle for chopping. seriously tho you lost my interest a bit when you switched to spectral view... much harder to follow. Thanks for the tutorial fam

    • @61akra12
      @61akra12 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah man, Click the "Regions/Markers" button, and in the menu, there is an option that says "Auto-Slice".
      The S/M/L Grid-Slicing will chop automatically at quarter/half/full beats. I use this then go back and then manually adjust the region markers back & forth if they're not matched up so well.
      The Dull/Medium/Sharp Auto Slicing options will chop it up based on auto-detecting the down phases (I don't really use this. I've heard it's good for just plain drum samples, not so much for full-on samples with multiple instruments.)

      Yes. Click the regions button in Slicex. There is an Auto-Slice option. The Grid slicing options will create regions by bars/beats. The Auto-Slicing options will create regions by down phases.
