Wow that’s interesting! I don’t think sushi is that common at Japanese weddings actually, this couple did it because they thought it’d be fun. I’m curious to see that in Spain now!
I've been to many weddings in the states and one time I got invited to Japan for a wedding. I was so surprised how everyone dressed very formal. I feel like in the states, not everyone wears a suit or tuxedos, but most men at the wedding wore tuxedo and some in suits. On top of that, the meal was phenomenal! It was a French course meal with the finest quality ingredients and meat from different parts of Japan. Japan just do things at a different level, I was so impressed.
Yes, the food is so good! I’m from Hawaii so it’s really different… Hawaii weddings have people in Aloha shirts and food is almost always a buffet. Definitely a different level in Japan

Wow this is really interesting! Would you say that most weddings in Japan are now more westernized? Are there stigmas against this type of westernized wedding vs a more traditional one?
I’d say most fall into the westernized category, at least in the city. People still do traditional ones and some prefer it because it’s more authentic to the culture. Others will do photo shoots in traditional purified but their wedding will be a more western one. I’m not sure about stigmas, I’m sure some parents/grandparents want at least a traditional photoshoot done though.

Well marriage is a commitment lol. But yeah, there’s even a word in Japanese for going broke because of weddings!

Sure, the wedding venue was Classica Omotesando, and the nijikai was NOS Bar&Dining Ebisu.

It's sad that the weddings are getting Westernised, traditional Japanese costumes are love
Yeah, most have become something like this but there are more traditional Shinto-style weddings that take place, just a lot less. I don’t know why, it could be that some don’t view the Shinto-style ones as an event that has a happy or celebratory feeling, I’m not sure though.

Not sure how it was since it’s a cartoon but Japanese people have a few different styles of weddings that they do. “Western” ones are most common though.

Yeah just me. I guess it makes sense in a way since the bride and groom have no relationship with my wife really.
@@barrettish I kind of agree with this one. It's awkward trying to build a relationship with strangers over a few hours of a wedding etc. Also good to save money this way, lol.

Why are they doing weddings in a chapel if theyre not Christians
Probably because they like the image of it. After all, it’s often shown in western movies and portrayed as elegant, so it’s kind of a foreign culture that’s been exported to places like Japan.

Sorry, but the title is misleading. This cannot be termed as a "real" Japanese wedding. If it was traditional, then it would have.
No, this is a real Japanese wedding because roughly 80% of Japanese weddings are done in Christian or Western styles (with a Japanese twist). Some other English videos showing a wedding in Japan were of international couples, this is not.
You’re confusing the meaning of “real” and “traditional”, and I think you mean Shinto-style weddings, which account for a little less than 20% of Japanese weddings according to studies. As this video isn’t a fake wedding and one that is similar to the vast majority of Japanese weddings today, the word “real” was used and the thumbnail image reflects the wedding that is shown.
