You and me both David. Not sure how these wonderful old locos would fair by today’s tight emissions standards mind you! Really glad you’re enjoying the collection and thanks for the comment.
I remember being fascinated by the 47/7s on the Scottish push pulls Kevin. In the early 80s, before the advent of DVT working on the west coast and east coast mainlines, it was still a fairly unique operation. Watching a rake of mk3 coaches gliding ‘backwards’ out of Waverley with a driverless 47 thrashing away at at the back was brilliant. Wish I’d seen the top and tail 27s on these workings mind you. Really glad you’re still enjoying the collection and thank you for the great comments.
@@kartwheelkarl the early eighties and nineties were mint everything just seem right if that makes sense ,ya never know mate we might of met imagine if I seen my self walking past you whilst ur filming ur videos that would be a top one, godbless you sir,
@@kartwheelkarl ur friend had a gr8 camera the pictures are so clear I don't know much about camera's mate but I have seen footage of of other peoples shots from back in the day and no disrespect to those people but the footage is not good ,
@@leenettywilson528 Apparently, Alan's camera was quite a large one, with a huge battery pack that he carried in a satchel. That makes it all the more remarkable that he made it to a variety of remote locations .... by bicycle!! His bike travelled with him on all the trains and he would cycle, often uphill, with all of his filming paraphernalia onboard. To this day, Alan is still a very fit man.
Never forget an edinburgh 08 shunter driver who let us three young english spotters stay in the cab while he took some empty stock out from waverly and back into another platform , grand old gent he was would not happen these days also a class 31 at doncaster , we asked if we could cab it and the driver asked if we had tickets to sheffield we did So a cab ride to sheffield , happy days .
I really love the class 26. I have that locomotive in oo gauge from Heljan. Excellent!

@@leenettywilson528 Sadly, I can’t take credit for the actual films Lee. My friend Alan was behind the lens for all of the Alan Harrison Collection.

You’re very welcome. Really glad you’re enjoying the collection.
Brilliant.
Thanks Gareth. And to think, Alan didn’t think anyone else would be too interested in his collection.
Brilliant footage
Thanks Gareth. Alan definitely did a great job with these videos didn’t he?
Amazing footage, thanks.
You’re welcome Paul. Really glad you’re enjoying the collection,
What a fascinating place Man Vic was then.
Fascinating yes but Oh so shabby, even by BR standards.
Top quality for 32 year old footage.....
I couldn’t agree more FWB. Alan did a great job didn’t he? I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with his collection.

Brilliant Mick. What fabulous memories. Don’t think modern H&S would allow drivers to do that nowadays.
It certainly was Andrei.
