Cool experiment! I'd love to see more interplanting videos like this if you have any. I've been trying to find good flower pairs on my farm as well to maximize space and reduce on netting.
Hey Jess! Your crates look awesome! I was crate planting lilies when I saw your video (2mo ago)about interplanting, so I added snaps to my last crate. Zone 8b here and one of the lilies is starting to bloom and the snaps are starting to bud, what fun, this is my first yr. so .. some success and some losses so far! Lol I enjoy and learn from you, thank you!
Awesome risk taking! Sooo, just a thought - would it add more stabilization and weather protection by adding a second layer of crate (just the walls somehow) as they get taller? Or taller crates?
I actually want to plant the snaps first to give them a few weeks head start and not plant in the perimeter. Hypothetically if they stay indoors, leaning wouldn’t be an issue. It’s bc they were outside and were in wind that this happened!
Hi Jess, no more lilies for me;( the few I have grown have had scarlet beetles.. it's bad enough they chew holes but then the poo all over disguising their eggs...yuck..
Ahhh I'm so sorry! I know what you mean. It's disgusting. I'm already thinking about decreasing the amount of lilies I grow next year because it's taking alot of time to manage the pest pressure!!
Amazing results to add snaps to something that you were working on with already. Probably helps cut way down on labor costs too. Way to think er - inside the bin?! Cringe😂

Oh yay!! I'm so glad to hear you also tried this! I hope you are able to mix snaps and lilies together!
Thank you very much for the video very informative
Did you say where you got the bulb crates you are using? I'm having a hard time sourcing them, and would appreciate your help. Thanks!
I got mine from the wholesale tulips I ordered. Usually fbook marketplace is a good place to look!
Great information! Which snaps are these? I love this shade of pink!
Legend pink! It’s a group 2
