I know this is an older video but just wanted to share. I was put on suboxen by my actual doctor after getting off pain meds due to a coma. I lost my insurance last month, work have a husband, 2 kids and a heart condition which has made it scary for me. I'll be honest I'm not a cryer and don't show much emotion but I cry at the drop of a hat atm. Now n then I feel okay but I just have these moments of defeat. It can tear you down so much. Esp your spirit. I'm not hungry but I feel empty. I can't even explain it. I'm scared to death! I just wanted to share and tell u how proud I am of you. You gave me such a better feeling about this and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

That's a great inspiration to me, Amanda. Thank you for taking the time to comment. I had that very same feeling for months. It was like the first 8 days took away 50% of the struggle and the other 50% took months to go away. I would go places and feel like I was just a body filling a space. I would talk to people and think to myself "I don't care about this conversation and I want to go home." It was weird and uncomfortable. I realize now that I had to go through that experience to get to this point. I have almost 2 years clean and quitting subs was the best decision I've ever made. I believe in you< Amanda. I hope you're still clean and doing well.

Randomly landed on this video 5 days in after debating whether or not to turn back and I'm glad I did bc this was very sincere and relatable. I cannot keep taking something every day to make myself feel normal then live with the panic that comes with an upcoming vacation, business trip, etc.and not knowing if you'll be able to get enough medicine to last. Such an evil cycle man and I just wanna feel normal again too. Hope you've kept up with it and thanks for the post.

That 4th day explanation you talked about driving in your truck, thats what I heard is your 'addict impluse' and thats whats REALLY HARD TO CONTROL. In my opinion.
God Bless you man if your still clean. Im on day 8, and it does suck, crying spells, no appetite, constant diarrhea, everything fucking sucks and just started a new job at Walmart and am on my last point before I'm fired.
I lost my kids over this shit, and my independence.
Please pray for me, If I ever needed Jesus's strength its now!
Please if anyone out there has never tried Opiates, please stay away, they are a literal dead end!

I'm jumping off at 8 as well but only after using Suboxone for 2 weeks .... I went to a doctor and got it because I was withdrawing from Dilaudid use seeing I was mentally prepared to just pack all opiates in ..... Now I don't even want Suboxone ..... I'm so mentally prepared for total abstinence but I'm wondering how bad my withdrawal will be .... I still have to work .... The sweats and chills I can deal with ... My only concern is the stomach issues, Diarrhea, and lack of energy .... I'm thinking how bad will that get or will I even experience it at all

Tammy Rogne I'm also at the 48 hour mark. I slept 4 hours, and now here I am, on TH-cam, at 7am. The body aches, and anxiety is pretty rough. But, this is NOTHING like coming off of opiates. Maybe the worst is yet to come... He mentions that day 4-5 are the worst. Im on day 3. I'm prepared for this. I've got this! I have to make my CDL's to solidify my future. The laws have changed now, and they won't accept anyone on Suboxone. I remember days 2-4 being the worst, when coming off of opiates cold turkey. Since the half life of Suboxone is longer, I expect days 4-6 to be the worst with this. I relapsed 4 times after quitting opiates. I would always go 2-4 months of being clean, then the no sleep, no energy thing would just get the best of me. The first week of withdrawal is tough, but it's NOT the hardest part. The weeks, and months following the initial withdrawal period prove to be the hardest times for me. You get very impatient. You feel like you should be normal by now. The reality is... It takes time. Possibly a YEAR, to get back to "normal".

In the 3 years ive been on it ive gone 3 or so days without it, and restless legs are my worse sideeffects. I cant sleep at all without suboxone and thats my biggest fear. I also have a 2 year old and 5 year old. Luckily i have a sopportive wife, so once i get off this train ill have her help. Thanks for sharing your experience. I also would like to get into NA. Ive not went because i know people with true sobriety kinda look down on suboxone and that deters me away. Anyways thanks again

I'm on day eight and days 4 5 and 6 are really bad but everyday after day 6 you will feel yourself getting better. I recommend eating healthy heating pads and taking showers 2 or 3 times a day most importantly right before you tryin go to sleep. If you can even pace back and forth across your room it will cause you to sweat out those toxins quicker for faster recovery.

This video is helping me cope. I am on day 5 and I was only taking 4 mg per day. I know a lot of others that were taking 8-24 mg. And they really went through it. I agree 100 percent with walking and taking vitamins. It is funny to me that I was addicted to H for 3 years and took Subutex for 6 years. The withdraws from the Heroin were gone in 5 days but I felt a relapse coming so I went the Dr. Now I have no cravings and felt it was time to quit cold turkey. It sucks but manageable. I paid leave from work so that helps. I physically don’t feel that bad, other than no energy. For me it is messing with my head bad. I think the Klonopin the doctor prescribed it helping some. Keep it together bro.

But now day 10 and 11 all symptoms full on. But I’m not gonna crack I couldn’t endure this again. I want to share something that I for some reason felt I needed during this and has helped a lot. I have a gas outdoor fire pit. I light it and sit by it and my symptoms go away. So needless to say I have been doing it a lot. The flames seem to stimulate my brain. I don’t know how long you were on Suboxone for. I was on it for 8+ years, and went through 7 days in detox (rehab) when I finally taper down to about 1 1/2 mg. They put me on a little bit of methadone. Didn’t do anything except give me diarrhea in rehab. So I get home from the rehab day nine, well that’s when the withdrawal actually kicked in. It was horrific, for about 3 months straight. I'll never touch Suboxone again!

I used Nyquil (nighttime extra strength) and Kratom (red vein) to get off suboxone. It helped, but the worst part is the depression, the diarrhea and the chicken skin, hot and cold spells, you're freezing one second and sweating the next but you're still cold. And you can't stand speaking to anyone. So you need to take some time off of work.

If anyone's struggling and they want to get off to from where ur at and get prescribed lower if ur On 8mg just go to 4mg there way bigger and last longer taper down then when the months over have ur differ prescribe the 2mg do tht for couple months then cut down a half of 2mg which is 1mg I would cut a half into four slices take a piece every 4 to 5hrs then when u adjust to tht take half of a 1mg a day get low as you can also recommend buying a bag of red Bali kratom you can buy it online and you can mix one spoon with a little pink lemonade just a little bit of cold lemonade with one spoon of kratom twice a day while ur tampering off .5mg. when u start to feel clamy n crappy the longer u tapper and the less ur takeing the less of a shock ur body will feel also do small workouts like he said and kratom is okay long as ur not doing more then three tablespoons you will feel little scrappy first three days off but kratom really eases it it's worked for me I'm also a thinner framed guy so seeing the toxins out of ur system is quicker I hope this helps someone

I had those thoughts and feelings too. Typically, it's the last phase of detoxification. In my opinion, it wasn't as bad as the physical withdrawls. It's the emotional stage of the process. I looked at it the same way I looked at the physical part. You just have to get through it to get to the other side.

    • @pappadoooos
      @pappadoooos  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Al Marzacci my experience is that it took 7-8 days to get through the most painful part of the withdrawals. After that everything else was bearable. It probably took a few months to get back to 100%. But it wasn’t painful and miserable after the initial 8 days. It’s was the occasional bout of lethargy or rls on occasion. It’s doable.

I’m down to 3 pieces the size of a piece of hair almost a day, one 8mg strip last me almost a month, I don’t know the math on that but I know it’s well under 1mg a day, I’m so ready to take that jump just tryn to man up and finally do it, just so scary. I will say that I get absolutely no high from them and never really did so I think mentally I’m not worried about a relapse or cravings cuz I’ve been on these for 10 years almost without a hype of high, just enough to not be completely sick, I went from cutting an 8 mg into 4 pieces a day to almost 1 mg a day, huge jump but it really only took me about a week or so to get used to it, im just still dreading the physical part, the restless legs is the worse part for me because I’ve had insomnia my whole life anyway and that just makes it unbearable, I want to cut what I’m doing now in half for a few months then finally just jumping off, pray for all of y’all and may GOD bless everybody on here and help them to get clean!!!

I'd rather have a job tbh, the boredom from no motivation to watch TV or movies or play games is what's getting me. I've been exercising, cold showers, lavander candles, chocolate and singing along to music, faking smiles, meditation, anything that's going to release endorphins and tbh the first 3 days were pretty easy, now I'm just kind of bored of feeling like this and my drive has sunk a little.

Lopermide is technically an opiate, however it does not cross the Blood-brain barrier like traditional opiates. This means it won't get you high, despite this though it will elevate withdrawal symptoms when taken in dosages that far exceed the recommended dose.
