Jon, that first bass in your video might have been a hybrid. They occasionally exist naturally, but typically happen from the consequence of an aggressive spawning male smallmouth and spawning female largemouth. The greatest chance to catch one that occurs naturally would be in locations where one of the two species has a low survival rate. Mortality rates are high for the hybrid, so if you actually catch one you have caught something extremely rare.

This was that funny mate! mostly because we had this happen to us on the Murray here in Australia 😂 our conclusion was that we didn't have a stainless steel pin and it rusted out, which doesn't hold the prop on! 😂 anyways great video cobba! 👍

That's where Im from Pure Michigan baby!!! Traverse City, MI to be exact. Flippin aweshome football smallie fishing their. I love and miss the hell out of it. It's funny I live in Phoenix, AZ now and bass fishing is pretty big out here, surprisingly there's quite a few giant LM bass here even some double digits. Who da thunk it dubs out in the desert. Anywho all the bassers out here all really wanna catch some smallies cuz they are hard to come by cuz not many lakes have them and the lakes that do the populations aren't exactly booming. Also not many big ones out here. What's funny is I've caught so so many bronzebacks, 100s of dinks but quite a few chunker footballs 3-6lbers too.

My uncle actually did this in a tournament with a 250 optimax once. It sucks but what happens is there is a codder pin (idk if i spelled that right) that holds the thing that keeps the prop from spinning freely in place. If the codder pin breaks then your whole prop kit can come loose and then everything falls out. Including the prop.

Hey Jon B. what do you recommend for a pond with thick grass and algae in it? i go to a pond with Bass, catfish and bluegills but I'm having trouble hooking Bass. i have used Texas rigged and dropshot with senkos. I have also tried a frog but the only bites were on a weedless football jig with a creature bait but can't hook on. any recommendations?
